I needed to replace 4 tires so I booked an appointment online for 4:30 and selected the option to wait. When I arrived I was told that they couldn't do the work because someone had called, there were other cars in front of me, and they wouldn't be able to perform the work by 6 which is when they close. In their defense, they did try to call me but I was busy at work all day. In my defense, they didn't leave a voicemail and I didn't have their number saved so I just assumed the missed call was spam or scam. This was a waste of my time and I'm making it a point to write a review because I'm old school. At any job I've worked, things happen...people call out sick or equipment breaks. But at the jobs I've worked, if there was a customer commitment, we worked late to meet them. The choices are 1) pay a little overtime and get it done even if folks have to work a little later than normal or 2) tell the customers you can't meet the commitments because you're not willing to do anything extra like stay a little late. I guess this outfit chose option 2. I would not recommend this shop. read more

Annual Winter & Summer Checkups have fallen short. I was referred to Dyke Tires 3 years ago by a friend. All service was on target before the new owners took over. This past year has been particularly dissapointing---incomprehensible bills with a confusing series of discounts and addo-on, a challenge getting worn out parts replaced (a search which I had to take over), and a significant detail not checked during regular 6 month checkups. Last week AAA Emergency Service replaced my battery which was 7 years old. Fortunately, I wasn't stranded anywhere, and I was headed to a social appointment that I could change. The battery was very clearly labelled as installed in 2018. Granted, I should have caught it during one of the times when I was refilling the windshield wiper reserve, but I've paid them to back me up and to watch for things like that on at least a semi-yearly basis. For a number of reasons, the car has been there several times in the last 6 months. That offered plenty of opportunities to catch this and bring it to my attention. read more

I would avoid this place. Decided to get my tires here because I also needed an oil change and their free oil change suckered me in. Picked up the car to find my rims scratched and my car shaking like crazy at higher speeds. Called them multiple times over a week to see what they could do and was always told the person I needed to speak to was not available. Finally decided to just go in and talk to them in person. The manager at the desk was personable and tried to help and I hope he is able to get off this shinking ship of a store. He offered to rebalance the tires and take a look at the alignment to address the shakes. He also said he was working on getting someone to repair my rims. We picked the car up later and it still shook even though they said they fixed the alignment that was off. It took taking it to another shop and paying another mechanic to finally get the shaking to stop. My rims on the other hand are still scratched and this shop has not followed up with me for the repair. What kind of tire shop can't place new tires with correct balance/alignment without scratching the rims? read more

I went in on a Friday to change 4 tires around 2:45pm hoping they could squeeze me in before close. No dice, Went back nearly a week later on a Thursday around 2pm and they said they could get it done by the next day. They got it done just in time for closing on Friday. Guess they're really busy in the summer. Felt a little pressure in an unnecessary upsell but that's prolly because two companies merged. The prices they "charge" are competitive and the crew here knows their stuff. The customer service department is friendly and communicative. Been a customer for 25 year! New management and staff less then desirabl!! Brought car in for state inspection which should have cost about $20 - $25. Received call that car was ready and bill was $85; asked why and was told they replaced windshield wipers. Asked why parts were replaced without communication and authorization and representative said "oh sorry I should have called". I was a very satisfied customer of Dyke Tire for 30+ years. It was an honest and reputable company with reasonable prices. Sadly, the owner sold it to Tire Discounters. It only took two visits to Tire Discounters for them to lose me as a customer. On the first visit, I was relieved to see two staff from Dyke Tire still there, although I did notice the bill was higher (more on that later). On the second visit a month later, all the staff were new. I inquired about the former staff and were told they were gone. That right there is a danger sign. When I got back and closely examined the confusing 3 page bill, I noticed that they charged $39.99 for "Shop supply fees." Dyke did not do that. Also, they charged sales tax on labor! Both times I went in I had large bills, which were made worse by the additional (and possibly unlawful) tax on labor. I brought this to the corporate office's attention and am waiting for a reply. When I bought 4 tires, they did offer the free alignment, but (again) there was an installation fee added for each tire. Due to their high costs and the fact that I don't feel that they are a trustworthy organization, I won't be back. read more

**BUYER BEWARE***If I could provide no stars I would. Dyke was purchased by Tire Discounters in September. I have been coming to Dyke for almost two decades, my family even longer. Last Thursday I came in for a standard oil change. My emissions light came on a day or so later. I called in and dropped the vehicle off the following Tuesday and they told me my rocker arm pressure switches need to be replaced. I has hesitant considering these are related to oil in some capacity, but I had the work done and paid $520. The same day I picked up the vehicle, the emissions light was back on, along with a check charging system light. I called back and dropped it off Tuesday night. Wednesday morning, Gary called me stating it needed an alternator. At this point, I had a bad feeling. This vehicle was purchased brand new, it's well maintained and there have been absolutely no issues with the vehicle. I elected to pick up the vehicle. Gary offered to do it for half price (initial quote for alternator was $650). When I refused, he offered to do it for free. I still declined and took my vehicle to another shop that agreed to do the alternator same day. Not to my surprise, the new show called and said I didn't need an alternator- all I needed was a battery. Since the shop was sold, they've lost so much staff and business. Now they're ripping people off! I also spoke to Godfrey, the field manager, who contacted me inquiring about what I was told by the new shop. I told him I needed a new battery, not an alternator and he told me to bring it back and they would give me a battery. I still declined and requested the name and phone number to their supervisor. Clueless and careless. Always double check your tires from these clowns. Ordered and paid for four new Michelin Defender tires in 2015. They should have been the same model tire. Unknown to us they substituted two Michelin Harmony tires that were from 2011 in place of two we ordered. Treads don't match. Tires weren't made in the same year. Car vibrates. Tires are dry rotting. Bought the tires in 2015. Crappy dyke tires lasted less than 20,000 miles. They pushed off their old inventory on us. Don't trust them. read more

I called to schedule an oil change & tire rotation and the owner, Jimmy was able to get me in the next morning - the first appointment because they had a cancellation. I dropped my car off around 3p that day so it would be there first thing. To my surprise, I got a call about an hour later that my car was ready!! What awesome customer service is that!! This has been my go-to place for 5-6 years and I'm never disappointed. They consistently provide excellent customer service, easy scheduling and great pricing!! Took my car in to get its tires replaced. Tech scratched the wheels with the tire mounting machine. I came back & the owner agreed to remedy the problem. Owner had a "specialist" refinish the damage, but the work was totally sub-par. To top things off, after repairing the wheel damage, my car was returned with a broken door. I got fed up with dealing with these guys & fixed the problem myself. If you're attentive to details & want the best for your car, look elsewhere. read more

If I were able to rate this business with "0" stars, I would. I received the worst possible service from this place. I went into have a few tires replaced. I called in a few days prior to ensure the tires were available prior to showing up. I was told then that they would have the tires in about an hour. I told them I would be in later in the week to have them installed. They said that would be fine. I opted to wait at the store for the tires to be put on. After waiting for 2 hours, I asked the service writer if the car was almost done. He proceeds to call to the back to check on the progress. He was informed, 2 hours later, that the tires were not in stock and there was a "mis-communication". The service writer was a bumbling fool and realized that he should have followed-up to make sure the tires were available sometime sooner than 2 hours later (at the request of a customer, no less). After wasting 2 hours of my time, I asked them to get the car since I was leaving. At that point, I was met by the owner who apologized for the problem. He volunteered to have someone give me a ride to where ever I needed to go and they would go and get the tires. That was his best answer... I call it unacceptable. Mistakes such as these cost money...I don't feel he did anything above and beyond to correct the problem. If they were operating the way they should have been, there would be no reason to give me a ride anywhere. After speaking with him, I understand why his service writers deliver such poor customer service. The joke of a service writer should be happy that he's working where he's at...no one else would tolerate him. That man would be on the unemployment line. I asked to have my car back...I had to wait even longer...they had the wheels off of the car...and no tires in stock! I can't believe this place is in business. I'll be sure to let everyone I come into contact with about this poor experience. Let this be a lesson to take care of your customers when something goes wrong.
