You think you're calling a local tire shop but after calling and confirming I could come in for a set of tires I found out the difficult way when I called I was actually talking to a call board in New York who has ZERO clue on what's actually happening here on Amelia Island. So for better and faster service I went OTB to Discount Tires where the person I spoke to was actually a person who worked at the local shop I was immediately put on the rack and left with a new set of tires in less than 30 minutes where Tire "King" said they might be able to do it in 2 to 3 days. It's laughable especially when it comes with an attitude. They need to get with the program and learn how to communicate with their customers. I've used Discount Tires from CA to FL and today I realized they are consistent from coast to coast, friendly service with competitive pricing. read more

We have gotten tires at Costco for years but that is not a convenient option for us after moving to Amelia Island so we decided to try a local shop. We replaced four tires on a Tesla here at Tire Kingdom and were very happy with the service. The tires had to be ordered but they came in within a few days and were quickly swapped with our old tires. They are open on weekends and evenings which is really convenient. We recently had to replace one of the tires when someone's hatred of Tesla motivated them to gouge a giant hole in it, but after being towed to Tire Kingdom, they replaced the tire quickly and had us home for a late dinner. read more

I have had great service in the past with Tire Kingdom and is normaly my first go too. However this morning I stopped by and asked the young lady behind the desk if they could mount a couple of tractor tires. she said no that they had a certain guy that does this and would be in on Sunday. Now these tires are the same size as a 14" car tire and require no special tools. I had Tire Kingdom change these tires a few years ago. I explaned this to the young lady and offered to show her the tires. She said No and thats her answer! I left and went to Steve Johnsons, the guy there said no problem. I had a really good experience with Tire Kingdom. About 2 weeks ago I took my car in to fix a tire that had a nail in it. They fixed it promptly. Then about 5 days later I noticed the same tire had a slow leak. I took it in and they said it was another nail in the same tire - they fixed it without any additional charge. Worst tire shop ever. Been going here for close to 30 years. It's usually different people working here each time I go. I originally went to the location in Yulee but they didn't have time for me, so I went to this location on the island. No other customers there, just me. All I had was a wheel and tire. Needed it mounted and balanced. It wasn't on the car. Was just sitting in the trunk, so they didn't have to pull the car into the shop and put it on the lift. Was just a passenger car tire, nothing special. Pretty simple and quick. They said they'd do it, so I rolled the pieces into their shop. After I hear them start putting the tire on the wheel, the guy working the cash register says it'll be $46 and some change. I told them to stop right there, I'll go somewhere else. The tire kingdom in Yulee has always been approximately $21 to mount and balance/tire, and I always tip the tire guy some cash afterwards just because. He told me the price was so high due to tire disposal fee. I then reminded him to give me the pieces back I'll go elsewhere. He told me they already mounted the new tire on the wheel, and offered me $10 off. Still not happy with the fact they tried to scam me, I took the wheel/tire to Mavis and had it balanced for $10. It's getting to the point with these tire shops, that I'd rather drive to Jacksonville and get it done. Will not be back to either tire kingdom. read more

I should have listened to my gut and now I know why. I dropped off a set of brand new wheels and tires for a balance only service. I was told it would be several hours before they could complete the task so I left them and returned later to pick them up. After paying at the counter my wheels were brought out to be loaded in the back of my truck. That is when I noticed the scratches. I couldn't believe it. Brand new Gloss Black wheels scratched. When I asked why they scratched my wheels, I was told, "I don't know how that happened". Not only did they scratch the face of the wheel, which is clearly visible, but they also scratched the inside of the wheels too. It appears they used a metal chisel to scrape the weights off and move them around. They did not offer an apology, they did not ask if there was anything they could do, they didn't care that they scratched my wheels. Absolutely horrible service. read more

Tires were not balanced correctly, took it to another TK, they explained each tire had approximately 6 ounces of weight, The weights should be at most 3 ounces per tire. The tech at the Yulee location said the weight was just added to each tire, instead of properly correcting the weight. I took it back to the original location three times to get it corrected, never corrected.. My time, like most folks is precious. I spent $865.20 on tires. I had an appointment at 2:00 and my vehicle was not serviced to 4:00 Secondly, I took my wife's 2007 Jeep to get serviced, I explained I thought it needed brakes, the manager told me the brakes were fine, I knew they were not. Within three weeks and less than 200 miles driven I took it the Yulee TK, the brakes showed hot spots on them and needed replaced asap. This could have cost me alot more, if I didn't obtain a second option. The Yulee TK was sure a different experience. Not to mention it was not safe. I am not looking for any future discounts, but action be taken with employees the Fernandina location should be investigated. Brought my truck in because I had a slow leak in my front passenger tire. Expecting they could just plug it and I'd be on my way. They put my truck up, brought the tire in and showed me the nail. He said it was too close to the wall and that they couldn't patch it. I would have to buy a new tire. Well, I told him to give me two then so it would be even (the tires have about 25k miles on them). Truck is finished and I drive home. Well, my truck sat for 3 days (we're in a pandemic, no one is going anywhere), and when I did come back out to go somewhere, the same tire was flat; I thought maybe I just had bad luck and hit another nail or maybe the tire was defective. I took it back to Tire Kingdom and they said the tire was not one of the ones replaced - they had replaced both rear tires. Well, there was nothing wrong with the rear tires, I specifically came in to have the front passenger tire fixed. They refused to acknowledge they made a mistake and claimed they checked their notes and said I had requested the rear tires be replaced due to low tread. All of this was a lie. The receipt doesn't indicate which tires were replaced, so I have no recourse. They didn't show me their "notes." Somehow, miraculously, the tire that was unpatchable on Monday was able to be patched on Thursday. I'm so frustrated that I lost two perfectly good tires on the back and now have a patched tire on the front. Seems like a scam to me and I've heard others with similar stories. Avoid this store if you can. read more

I was visiting elderly family friends who live in the area, driving 4 seniors 70+ in age all weekend. Discovered my rental car had leaky tires with psi under 10. All other tire repair stores were closed, except these guys in the area on a Sunday afternoon. They not only got the tires repaired, but offered to pick up my seniors and drop them off at home, if needed. Vinnie, Aaron and Jordan were kind and empathetic -- went way beyond and exemplified customer service. I was in Fernandina visiting my mother who has just moved there. Neither of us know really anything about the island. Of course, my car starts overheating while we're out and about town. It's a Sunday. We immediately think we're doomed. We ask a man at a gas station for recommendations and he sends us here. Turns out, it's the only mechanic open on Sundays. I got my car towed there and had a GREAT experience. They let us look at the car WITH them, when they figured out what was wrong, they physically showed us what needed to be replaced. They did what needed to be done and we were out of there. They charged a fair price and were incredibly friendly while we were there. I think we've found my mom a new car shop! Twenty days ago, I went into their establishment for a specific set of replacement tires. A very persuasive salesman convinced me to try a cheaper tire with a verbal guarantee that if I didn't like them in the first 30 days, I could return and have them swapped out for the brand I had originally requested. After determining the tires they had sold me were not my best option, I went in today to have them swapped out. I was expecting resistance to the promised exchange. To my great relief, the exchange was honored with only the expected upcharge for the difference in tire price. I am very happy to report that their satisfaction guarantee was honored in a very professional (and much appreciated) manner. Kudos to Brandon. I had a tire with a slow leak and this Tire Kingdom was on the way so I stopped in. They had just opened so I was able get it looked at quickly. The service was fine. I have had many tired repaired over the years and cost ranged between free and $15. Knowing this I did not ask for a quote first and had them fix it. The repair went fine. My issue was the cost when the tire was done was $30. I thought this was double what it should have been. This tells me that if a tire repair is that much, when I need tires ( in about a month ), they are not the place to go. read more
