I sent you my contact information sometime ago and you still haven't contacted me. Along with the info I posted about the poor service at Coastal Auto Care, I have a $487. power steering assist motor sitting in my garage that Coastal Auto Care indicated I needed to purchase in order to repair my steering column concerns. I ordered the power assist motor and it was NOT needed. The box has never been opened and I can't return it because of it being classified as an electrical part. I have been using Coastal Care Car for over 15 years. They have always taken great care of my vehicles. I go for regular maintenance and will not go anywhere else. Rebel at the front desk knows her stuff. She will go beyond the normal customer service to assist with explaining, pricing and getting your vehicle in and out. They are a great team and most have been working at Coastal for quite a long time so you get to know your service team. I had a highly disappointing experience with Coastal Automotive. Despite been a Loyal Customer to them for many years servicing my vehicles. However on May 6, 2025, my 2016 Buick Enclave was misdiagnosed with a steering rack and pinion issue despite my suspicion and mentioning to them of a power steering pump problem, leading to unnecessary repairs costing $1,815. The issue persisted after the service was completed, and another service provider confirmed the power steering pump was the actual problem. Additionally, a prior oil change at Coastal Automotive resulted in my oil cap was left off, causing check engine lights to my vehicle. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue with the manager, also with the manager promising/feel like trying to calm the situation down by providing me future vehicle services with Coastal Automotive. There was no refund or satisfactory resolution was provided as of July 18, 2025. I expressed frustration over poor communication, unprofessional handling, and financial loss. I advise against trusting Coastal Automotive for reliable service. Go Somewhere Else. read more

This place is absolutely amazing and the customer service is extraordinary. My alternator went out on my drive home to VA and let me stranded. I called Coastal Car Care while I was broken down on the side of the road. Not being from this area they provided me with information for a tow company and were able to fit me in the same day so I could get back on the road to head home. The customer service desk up front were friendly. Even the mechanic seemed friendly. But felt like a scam. Took my vehicle in for the check engine light. Paid for a diagnostic to be ran. When they came with a quote of everything wrong it cost $1400.00 to fix. I told them to go ahead because the issue was something I definitely should not drive on. When I came back end of day the car kept stalling in he parking lot. The one sensor they got in was bad so they put the old one on and I could come back in the morning to get a new one on. I was understanding and fine with this. The next morning I came back for the sensor to be replaced, that was suppose to take 20 minutes I sat for an hour and a half then was told 02 sensors needed replaced for the oil also being on them. something they new from the start and waited to tell me until after finishing everything else. That was going to be an added $400. Their response was that 02 sensors will "sometimes" clean themselves out but usually need replaced. So why they weren't replaced and quoted with everything else before makes no sense. No customer wants to hear sometimes after saying to fix what needs fixed and agreeing to the way overpriced service they got the day before. Won't be going back. Friendly staff is great but the work isn't quality. read more

Coastal Car Care helped me out so much when I was on a road trip with my five-year-old daughter. They removed a loose protective panel that was dragging beneath my car for free and then did a fantastic job on an oil change. They have a great play area, which my daughter really enjoyed while we waited on the car. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. They really took care of us and made sure we stayed safe on our road trip even though all of our needs were on-the-go and last minute. I can't recommend them enough. read more

I have gone up to the desk and asked about it twice only to be told "They are working on it." I explained that I was in a hurry, after the first two and a half hours. scammers!!!!! This places is unprofessional and beyond bad! I recently broke down on the way to see my husband in the military. Long story short they had my truck for over 3 months. I had to continuously call for any updates and to see what was going on because it was taking so long. After paying over 4k to get the truck fixed, we picked it up and the engine soon started smoking. They said there was nothing wrong with it and informed me it was just the engine burning off old oil. After bringing it back for the fourth time they then said I just need an oil change. This would now be the second oil change my truck they should have known something was wrong oil doesn't just disappear out of the engine. After now bringing the truck back for a fifth time, the owner Doug said they figured out the problem and wanted me to pay for parts and labor. I do not mind paying for the parts however, I've already payed over 4k for their labor/parts and this should have been fixed the first time I brought the vehicle to them, not the 5th. They have wasted my time and money, with no regards to the inconvenience they have put me in. Clearly they are unaware of how to do a thorough job!! STAY AWAY!! They'll just burn through your money and you'll continue to have problem after problem. read more

Service was completed quickly and professionally, and the staff was super friendly.. price was very fair.. The facility is loaded with coffee and creamer and the lobby is very clean and well cared for.. Probably the best vehicle service business I've ever been to in all my travels.. On a family trip to NC with my daughter, her vehicle broke down. We took the vehicle to Coastal Car Care and was given an estimate after they checked to see what the issue was. Months went by without the vehicle being fixed. My daughter had to borrow her father's truck at times, when her husband used their other car. It's about to be 5 months and the vehicle is still not fixed properly because it had to be returned several times for the same issue. We just received a call that it's going to be more money although it's the same issue as the original work. Too bad I cannot give a rating of zero. If a company cannot stand by their word, then how can you trust the service that they are supposed to provide. read more

After being a long time customer with no complaints who always took our cars there for oil changes and tire patches, we were not informed that the price had gone up another $10 for an oil change. The price is now over $70 for a full 5-qt synthetic oil change! I waited for almost 2 hours for them to change the oil on a slow day. The AC went out on my Car carried to Coastal Car Care and was told I had an AC leak put in dye to find leak resulted in needing a new compressor would cost over $1100 to repair parts would need to be ordered wrong parts came back the new installation cost would then be OVER $1300 payed bill over the phone since it was so close to closing time instructed employee to leave keys in car and would come and pick up car thinking keys would be left in ash tray or under floor mat when I got there keys were in clear view on front seat WOW !! On July 3rd my husband took his S6 Audi in for a simple oil change. (He also asked beforehand if they knew how to change oil on foreign cars which they said they did.) Mind you , we have been going to this place for years for oil changes on previous vehicles we own, so we really trusted this place. Long story short these people blew the engine and transmission in our new car we had just gotten 4/5 months prior. They tried to say the starter blew after seeing smoke coming from the engine which was bull! Had the car towed to Audi from their shop and they hooked the car up to the computer to see exactly what was wrong with it. Whoever worked on the car drained the transmission fluid thinking it was the oil then replaced it with the wrong transmission fluid, overfilled the oil and hydro locked the engine! They've admitted this! The car is now at a total loss! This has caused us so much stress and inconvenience. I would always recommend this place to people but after this disaster, never again! read more

My son's wife dropped off the truck to them Nov 2nd of 2021 and didn't get it back until mid-Feb. The estimate was given on or about the 4th of Nov. authorization was given to fix said truck. During repair checks, was told parts were on order. Fine, he was changing duty stations. Once the truck was finally picked up, it has other issues develop as a result of this supposedly repair. My son is on his third round of issues with his truck and they are wanting him to pay more on top of the several thousands he has already paid. It is tantamount to a hostage situation. I won't fully fix your truck if you don't pay me more. What ever happened to honesty and decency in business?Your word used to be your bond. This just shows you that the more you look for the good in small businesses, the more they show their true colors. I would never treat a customer like this. If you don't know what you are doing, just be man enough and say so. Follow your first mind! Should have towed it back to his home city and paid the extra for it. SMH read more
