Went in hoping to get a simple tire patch done, but they wanted to charge over $30 for it and still couldn't help me after I called ahead and drove all the way there. They didn't mention what situations they couldn't help with until I was already there -- felt like they were more interested in selling me a new tire than actually helping fix mine. Only giving two stars because one of the employees did at least explain that they only do internal repairs, which pushed me to go grab a plug kit from an auto parts store and fix it myself. Amazing experience from my desperate phone call to checked in and pickup! My daughters car was not holding air and we though maybe it needed a patch (nail or something in it) It was a very busy weekend for us (parent weekend) and I had tried another place with absolutely no help. They said I could drop it off and they would call me later. The lady at the front desk was beyond help...this was a super convenient location too and the store was very bright and welcoming. I felt safe leaving the car AND having my daughter pick it up later after I'd left for home. We did need a new tire, and my daughter had no issues with picking it up later in the day! I got a full set of Mavis brand tires with warranty here 3 weeks ago. The other night I had two tires pop at the same time in Memphis and was stranded for 4 hours. I obviously had to get them replaced with used tires so I could get back home. When I first got back to the store for replacements the attendant told me he couldn't do anything about it because I had taken the tires off the rims. (Obviously because you cant drive 500 miles on spares and no one has 2 spares in their car) but after finding two holes in the tires he changed his mind and decided he could work with me. The manager also spoke to me as if having two Mavis brand tires popping at the same time 3 weeks after installation was a normal occurrence, which makes me seriously the question the store and Mavis brand. They wouldn't allow me to change to different tires and wouldn't let me keep the two replacement tires I bought in Memphis for $300, so that they could resell them themselves. Don't buy Mavis brand tires and don't come to Tire Kingdom or Mavis Brand Tire shops. read more

Omg! They saved me today! I had a flat tire on 75 N. I came in with a tire with a nail going down quick, I was headed to Atlanta and 2 hours into my trip, a woman alone. They fixed my tire in 35 minutes even though they were very busy. They did not charge me anything!!! Angels. read more

Went here to get my tires checked because the low pressure logo came on right before Thanksgiving break. The woman there barely looked at my tires and gave them a little air for no charge. She admitted the pressure didn't even seem too low, and that it could've been from the drop in temperature outside. I didn't question this since I assumed she was a professional and would've noticed if there was a nail in my tire (which I later discovered there was). When the logo didn't go away after she added air, she told me it just needed to adjust and the logo would disappear shortly. It did not. Eventually I manually turned the logo off, thinking it needed to be manually reset. It wasn't until that same logo came back on just a few weeks later that I went somewhere else to discover the giant nail that had been sitting in my tire for over a month at that point. I had to have my back tires replaced. Needless to say, do not go here unless you want to take a risk letting someone to do a half-assed job on your car. read more

All they do is upsell and try to rip people off. We needed an oil change and tire rotation, they said they could only do it if we got all new brand new tires trying to charge us over a 1000 dollars. Tire pressure light came on the next morning, came back said that they shouldn't have patched it and that they messed up. Buyer Beware!!! Both of my daughters, who are college students, had experiences that were less than professional at this establishment. The first situation occurred when my daughter brought her vehicle in for a break sensor warning. Due to the rust on the vehicle, the Tire Kingdom mechanic could not dislodge the sensor and told my daughter the whole wheel barring needed to be replaced which would have resulted in $600 in costs. I had her bring the vehicle to a local mechanic who was able to dislodge the sensor and replace it for 1/3 of the cost. The second situation occurred when my other daughter brought her vehicle in to have a tire plugged due to a slow leak from a nail. The Tire Kingdom mechanic told my daughter that the tire was compromised and she needed a whole new tire. Again, I had her bring her car to a local tire dealership and for $20 her tire was patched and back on the road. Since a large corporation took over Tire Kingdom, their service and professionalism seem to have gone down hill. My daughters will no longer be brining their vehicles here for service. Do yourself a favor and find yourself a local private mechanic and bypass these garages who seem to be making commissions off upsales. read more

I just had THE most AMAZING experience with Chris, one of the managers and his entire staff at Tire Kingdom on Ocala. Within minutes of pulling into the parking lot and explaining what was happening with my tire and an alert I saw on my dashboard, Chris came right outside, checked all 4 tires and found the problem. I had a good experience here, after my daughter blew a tire on the highway. Daica was extremely helpful, polite, responsive and knowledgeable in helping us determine whether we needed a new tire vs patch, and getting the needed fix. She also made at least 2 phone calls on our behalf to see whether the tire was covered under warranty. She was the primary reason we had such a good experience. read more

I had a very minor coolant leak I wanted to get checked out, as well as get a much over due oil. They told me to come and I dropped my car off, I ended up getting my a call back telling me they can't do anything on my vehicle due to there being an oil leak and coolant leak. When I dropped my vehicle off there was no oil leak and only a very tiny coolant leak where I had to refill it once a week. The next morning after getting my car back from this shop, my car is severely leaking it's coolant to the point where I'm unable to drive my car around the block without it about to over heat. On top of that I now I have an oil leak. Honestly would never recommend this place. I plan to press charges and get my car fixed for the damages they caused, if they do not fix the damages they caused to my vehicle when I go in to discuss the bullshit they just put me through. read more

I only want to talk to Jose when I come to tire kingdom. He's the best one there, I never feel like he's jerking me around or trying to oversell me. Seriously, Jose is great. Corporate should give him a raise. The other guys there have over sold me, and tried to get me services I didn't need. That being said, I only come here for oil changes and tires. I don't get other work done here for the most part. I got a battery replaced here once, and it cracked and broke almost immediately. The AAA guy laughed at me about it. They're quick here if you have an appointment, but don't expect it to go quickly if you don't. It seems like every undergraduate in town comes here, and I've had it take a good chunk of the day to get an oil change. However, the location is great, and they don't mind if I leave my car their over night. The waiting area is decent too, with free coffee, tables to work at, and trashy day time tv. read more

The passage through your business processes and subsequent results, all relating to my daughter's car, created a horrendous oversight which was detrimental to my daughter's safety and security. Based on these experiences, I suggest that the best "service" you can provide young adults attending the local universities is to close your doors forevermore. A slashed tire began the ordeal with this Tire Kingdom resulting in the usual efforts to justify up-sales for additional items. Some advisements were worthy of some consideration while others could not be justified at all. Your "technician" finally determined the need to replace a CV axle shaft for the front of the vehicle. There is no doubt - my daughter must have had her Guardian Angel with her for her long drive back home. As described by my daughter the "noises" and "strange feelings" with its handling and was owed to a Tire Kingdom technician's assessment that the replaced part needed some wear time. I heard the noise - it was extreme. The vehicle went to our local (genuine) mechanic. He was horrified. A large bolt (stabilizer bar link) was missing from the control arm connected to the front left wheel. On the right side, the disconnection was close to cutting through the right tire when the wheel was turned right. This right tire, which replaced the slashed one, was the incorrect type. Payment was promptly made for all "services" you rendered. This included a small fortune to guarantee quality repairs (by a mechanic) so the vehicle was truly safe and secure. Why didn't your "technicians" exhibit any degree of professional civility and responsibility for either some wrong committed (in the repair of the axle shaft assembly) or "did not see" - although the danger was visible. We are extremely thankful our daughter made it back so we could get the repairs done and completed to the highest standards. I will monitor that incorrect type (not size) tire which your "technician" chose. Money cannot replace someone you care for. I truly believe closing your doors forevermore will ensure no other parent or young adult in the Tallahassee area finds themselves with the same serious breach of trust and confidence; one of compromising vehicular security and client/driver safety. In the least, those thinking of going to your business should be made well aware that they are doing so at their own personal and financial risk. read more

The worst car place I have ever been. Don't even bother making an appointment cause they don't care at all. I called a day ahead and made an appointment for what I was told was non busy time slot to get a simple oil change. When the day came I called about hour before just to make sure everything was fine and asked if coming in 15-30 minutes earlier would be beneficial. They said it would be perfect and would get me out sooner so that's exactly what I did. When I got there (early keep in mind) I was again told it should be no longer than an hour. As a shock to absolutely nobody that's been to this tire kingdom before, an hour passes by and not a single word of anything has been told to me by the employees so I get up and ask how much longer they think it'll take since it's already been an hour. Would you guess what they said? "Oh we haven't even started yet should be another hour." Wow what great customer service and clear communication with costumers. And if you're wondering what their reasoning was, it was "stuff happens." How does "stuff happen" when I called twice ahead of time to make sure it's a good time and even showed up early. There's no surprise appointments unless they have a priority queue set up for people that gives them special treatment. The most impressive thing to come out of this Tire Kingdom is the fact that they're still a legitimate business. And FYI if when you walk in there and there's a shorter guy with light eyes behind the counter and your guts telling you don't trust him, I'd follow my gut. (Update: went to Jiffy Lube today with no appointment just called 10 minutes before I got there and they had me out of there in 30 minutes. On numerous occasions, I have had less than positive interactions with this business. About a year ago, I went in for new tires. I dropped my car off and was called a few hours later saying my suspension was shot and I would not make the 200 mile trip back home if I was to drive on it. After paying nearly $2,000 for whatever was done, I drove away that afternoon with a horrible noise every time I drove over a bump. Went back the next morning was told that's an entirely new issue, so it was serviced again. After receiving it once again, the noise was still there. I brought it back AGAIN and was told "we are so sorry - we'll fix the issue free of charge". I received the car a third time and the noise was still there. I don't know what was being done but the suspension issue was never fixed. I appreciate their willingness to fix whatever wasn't done properly the first time, but the car still has issues that were not fixed. I recently went in for an issue regarding my oil tank - I was previously quoted for a simple tightening/fixing of the dipstick container. After dropping off the car, I was told it was an issue with the lug nuts and was told it would be $1000. After fixing the issue and returning the car home, I checked the undercarriage and it was already leaking oil. I don't know if there is an incompetence with the staff or no communication of what should be done, but I do not recommend this business. I believed there would be some change over the course of a year, but I was mistaken. I will not take the car back to Tire Kingdom and rather will find someone else for my business. read more

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Called ahead of time to get an inspection, air in my tire, and fluid if needed. I was very specific on my car. He said it would only take an hour and 30 minutes. I dropped my car off around 1pm and never heard back. I had to call at 5pm to inquire about my car and they said that my car still isn't ready and they were just now getting a chance to look at it. I said no problem and I know that they close at 6pm, would I still be able to pick up my car. He said yes and he would call back. They never called back. My experience at the Ocala, Rd location was more than exceptional. Marcus did a wonderful job addressing all of my concerns. At my request he walked me to my car in the mechanic port showed me the condition of my struts and answered all of my questions. He pulled one of the mechanics in on the conversation when he wasn't sure about something he was explaining. He made me feel like I was the only customer in the building; I wasn't. He was pretty busy with calls and several customers waiting in the lobby. I am sure each customer I saw him working with felt the same way. I don't know anything about cars. I had a terrible time here, they overcharged me for everything, but I couldn't not pay them because I wasn't sure if I was being ripped off or not. I found out later that they ripped me off when I found out they charged me 80$ to pour coolant into my coolant container. You know, that stuff that costs 12 bucks and takes two seconds to pour in yourself? So I'm guessing labor costs to unscrew the cap to the coolant must have been 78$ dollars - sounds reasonable enough to me. I went in there to get my breaks fixed, but next thing I knew, I had spent 800$ fixing my car. They told me what parts I supposedly needed, so I went and bought them from autozone from across the street, and they told me that they couldn't use my things. Only so they could charge me extra for getting the same parts themselves from the same store. Never again will I be a customer at tire kingdom, and I strongly encourage everyone else to learn from my mistake. read more

Got there early, around 8 AM to change out a flat tire. I was skeptical because of other reviews, but this was the closest place. They did not try to upsell or give me issues about other things related to the car that may need work. While waiting I noticed two other issues with customers that were completely because of the customer being rude and challenging, and not the staff.... so I wanted to leave a good review because I had nothing but a POSITIVE experience here. The manager Todd was a scam artist. I brought my girlfriends car in to have them remove a nail from the tire and patch or plug it. He took 2 hours to get to the car when the guys finally got to the car he waited another 45 minutes to tell us and then he claimed there was no nail and that the issue was that the tires had no tread and I needed new tires. I am a car dealer and I know when tires need to be changed and the tires he was talking about were put on brand new one month before. For 3 years while attending FSU, Tire Kingdom took care of me. While having to deal with car issues is never fun, they took me in and looked after me. With any issue I was having they would explain it it me in simple terms, explain what they needed to do, and explain how much it was going to cost. While the wait could be long, what else do you expect from a tire shop that has appointments set when you randomly come in? From oil changes, to needing new tires, to amping up my AC I was always taken care of here. Now that I'm not living in Tallahassee, I constantly miss these guys! Took my car to get my tire patched and an oil change, but they told me my tread was too worn down for them to patch the hole (I JUST got new tires less than a year before this), then told me that my cap for my leak valve for my oil was broken and they had to replace the part before doing the oil change. Then went on to tell me that my battery needed to be replaced. I didn't have any of these problems beforehand. Because I'm a young FEMALE college student, I feel that I was taken advantage of. Avoid, avoid, avoid! My spouse has been going to them for various repairs. He learned yesterday, after getting a second opinion, that previous work done was not needed as well as work suggested by the technicians at Tire Kingdom being incorrectly assessed. Turns out that what he needed was hundreds of dollars less plus it is questionable if the previous work done to the car was actually needed. It may be fine for tires but go elsewhere for any mechanical work. He feels ripped off and will be addressing it through the appropriate channels. Who wants to spend their day waiting at a tire shop hours for 1 tire!?!? Was told the wait time would be an hour and guess what? We are now going onto 2 hours AND my car is still in the same spot I parked when I arrived! Not to mention, they are not busy. Especially seeing that the "mechanics" have time for various cigarette breaks. Come here ONLY if you have time to waste and extra money to throw away. I would give zero stars if possible, got new tires put on my truck and these geniuses did not even tighten my lug nuts. Left the place and within 30 seconds my wheel falls off doing about 6,000$ in damage to my vehicle. This it not about bad service (which they also have) this is about personal safety.
