After sending in my order number as requested from Guilia M. at Tire Rack a credit was issued today is still incorrect. I am being charged more for shipping coast then what was explained to me and there at 4 tire caps that I also purchased that are not in this final credit a well. I asked if I could please speak to a manager because this is ridiculous and this has been a horrible experience. I was told would I have to pay $15.00 per tracking number and there were only two tracking numbers, which was explained to me that it would be $30.00. I have been charged in my first credit issued a total of $51.48 for shipping coast and now in this second credit issued today, I was charged another $17.61 for shipping. Plus I still have not received a call back as I was promised yesterday morning regarding the 4 caps also in this order which totaled to $88.00 that I paid for, which still has not been credited to my account as well. I have paid a total of $137.73 for shipping coast in this total order between purchase and return. Not one person has had the decency to call me back with answers to my questions. But I write a report and still no one has correctly processed this return. I am beyond taken back by the lack of customer service and manner in which I have been dealt with. If I could give zero stars, I would... Dealing with this place is a nightmare. Their customer service is very, very poor. Short version of the story is I bought a set of 4 wheels and tires for my BMW. I had the tires installed at an authorized vendor, and almost immediately noticed that the wheels were rubbing on my brake calipers. I had the tires removed. From here, a nearly 4-month journey with their customer service department began. They asked for pictures. They asked for more pictures. They asked me to return the tires, which I did despite it being a 2-3-hour drive. After about a week, they wrote me back and said they would not accept my return as a warranty claim, and asked that I drive BACK to retrieve the wheels / tires (which, mind you, I cannot use). I bought 4 new Michelin tires from Tire Rack. I told them when I made the appointment I did not want my rims scratched. Email confirmation of my appointment says in the notes, do not scratch rims. I get to Tire Rack for the installation and I tell the gentleman, don't scratch my rims please. He tells me, our system is completely "touchless". Well obviously it's NOT! They scratched every rim on my Highlander. The rims on my Highlander cost $700 each. So they ruined $2800 worth of rims. And they do NOT stand behind their service!! Placed an order online, $540 for 2 tires. Tires on back order, no problem. Get an email a week later from Oscar Van Dyke saying the tires are going to be even later. Email says to reply if any questions or to cancel. Reply and ask a question. 2 days, no response so I email back to same email to cancel my order, within 10 mins I get an automated email that my order has been cancelled. Still no response from Oscar. Very unprofessional and don't seem to care about their customers. At least take the time to answer a question and respond when someone is spending that much money on 2 tires. Have been Tire Rack customer on many occasions over the years with satisfactory results. Most recent purchase was a nice set of BFG tires/Enkei wheels for my Toyota Tacoma. Service assistance for selection was good & helpful and shipping as expected (hence 2 stars). My issue has been the TPS installed by Tire Rack in the set never functioned properly. I took my vehicle to 3 separate certified mechanics including a Toyota dealer since installation to program the TPS to my truck and none were able to successfully do so (and I provided the codes for all 4 TPS that were provided with my purchase). I have had to live with a permanently flashing TPMS light ever since installation. As my troubleshooting with mechanics went over my 90-day warranty, Tire Rack indicated I would need to pay for replacement TPS sensors. I've paid for 3 shops to attempt to program them so will not be paying to have tires removed, again for new TPS sensors, and for installation. Tire Rack has permanently lost this customer and I highly recommend anyone make purchases that entail higher end wheel/tire packages with TPS sensors elsewhere to ensure they function as expected and you get appropriate service from the retailer if by chance they don't. Tire rack sold my faulty wheels and won't refund. 2 out of 4 sparco rims cracked at separate times (see pictures). They won't give me a refund because they say it's from impact. I'm the only one who drives my car and there has never been any "impact". The first time I accepted and I had to buy another rim at 50% off. Now I refuse to give them another cent. This online automotive tire business touts its "Free Tire Road Hazard Protection" on its website. TireRack does not advise potential customers that this Protection is through an unaffiliated business ("an insurance company" as a T/R customer support rep said). I filed a claim for a unrepairable tire on 9/23/21 and ordered a replacement tire through T/R for a total of $212.21, had it installed at my expense (another $25) on 9/26, uploaded the required purchase and installation receipts and tread depth gauge photo the same day to the insurance company and am still waiting for a $169.99 credit even though two phone calls (on 10/14 and 10/19) to insurance company said that claim was in "processing" and follow-up notes will be sent. I have purchased from Tire Rack before and had no issues. This time I ordered 4 tires and they said they would be delivered on Tuesday. They have a new installation opportunity which installs them at your home. Great idea! So at a higher cost than using one of the go to site installers, I scheduled an installation for Wednesday. They dropped the ball and did not ship until Tuesday and they could not install on Wednesday, and only could come to Chicago the next week. So I drove for an hour to meet their truck on Thursday and had it installed on a chain store parking lot. They should have had their truck drive to me because it was their mistake. It appears they do not care about satisfying a customer as you see from the last two yelp reviews. Lesson learned is to not use their installation at home unless you are not in a hurry. Also when I emailed about the issue and hoped they would consider something for my trouble and extra payment for home installation they NEVER EVEN RESPONDED. To add to my frustration, on Ebay I could have bought the same set of tires for $100 less, but because my past purchases went without issue I decided to use Tire Rack. My mistake. After using the tires for 3 weeks, the recommended installer told me that the studs installed into the tires are to short for the tires. Tires are great (Firestone Firehawk Indy 500). Tirerack is terrible. The road hazard warranty does not cover the cost of the new tire installation. Tirerack uses a 3rd party warranty company (Sonsio) and they are not on the same page. No follow up or communication from their warranty provider or the customer service center. Just buy Firestone tires direct from Firestone. Same price for the tire and they will replace it free of charge (including installation) under their warranty. Plus, you don't need to wait for tirerack to ship the new tire. Tirerack lost a customer because of their substandard warranty and poor customer service. Firestone gained a customer because they do what's right and will go the extra mile to earn your business. Response to John: Hey, cool! Thanks for the canned response, John! My (horrible) experience: Ordered 4 rotors for my car. Never received them. After 1.5 weeks, I called them and rather than apologize, they wanted my credit card number to "process" another order. I had originally paid with Paypal to avoid giving the card number. So now I was forced to give my card number so that I could receive those products. Furthermore, the new shipping location was farther away but since I only paid for ground shipping, that was the only option they could use the second time around. I have some advice for Tirerack. Read the book "Delivering Happiness" (http://goo.gl/9Vnh) and rethink how you handle customers. The appropriate action would be to apologize for the error, overnight replacement parts, and possibly eat the added cost. The only place worth ordering tires online is Tire Rack. They are extremely knowledgeable about everything they sell and always want to make sure that you get what you need. I typically save $50/tire (factoring in installation and tire hazard insurance already), so when buying a set of 4 tires, $200 is nothing to sneeze at. And when you're buying new 'shoes' for your performance vehicle almost annually, you need to save where you can. Tire Rack is perfect, if you tend to plan ahead and know when you need tires. Not for someone who needs it same day. Although, since they ship from a Nevada warehouse to CA, tires are usually available within 2 days, if you can wait that long. Having an All Wheel Drive vehicle wasn't as good in the snow as I thought it would be with all-season tires last year. So, this year I decided to try snow tires. I didn't want the hassle of scheduling an appointment and dropping my vehicle off for who knows how long, so I started looking online for mounted and balanced tire and wheel packages. Tire Rack had a good deal on them, so I pulled the trigger. In two days I had 4 Bridgestone Blizzaks mounted and balanced on a set of really nice rims. Got them so fast, I was able to throw them on before the first snowfall. If you're never had snow tires, they make a HUGE difference. It's like playing a video game using cheat codes! Delivered the next day amazingly, took one out of the box attempted to put it on, did not fit, I guess if you know actually what you're looking for, Without question, then, maybe Tire Rack would be a good experience, but for me like I said it was horrible. They charge me $836 for four wheels that did not fit, and after returning them they only refunded me 499. $130 return shipping and $194 for a wheel they said I scratched. I thought buying tires/rims online was a foolish move. After all, you don't get to see how your rims look other than the pictures they show online. HOWEVER, buying from TireRack most definitely helped me change my mind about buying tires over the internet. First off, I'd like to thank Cy Chowattukunnel. Cy called me on Monday (bought the tires on Saturday night) to warn me that there might be rubbing issues with the newer tires. He advised me of the available and compatible tire sizes and what the pros/cons were for buying bigger tires. He also went the extra mile and told me what adjustments I should make to the camber/caster. He also went out of his way to help me out with a billing issue. And, not once did he become annoyed of my persistent phone calls. He helped me resolve the billing issue by talking to the billing and authorization department and SOMEHOW he got the order shipped out the SAME DAY. The tires got to me in 2 days (Wednesday morning) and I was able to put them on my car the same night (Thanks to the FREE mounting and balancing). I wanted to use Tire Rack since I live in the area and wanted to support a local business. They are big and considered the best. After my experience, I tend to disagree. First off they don't store tires (when switching to snow tires) unlike many of the other tire companies like Belle Tire. This is a pain as I now need to haul 4 tires back home. Also there is no scheduling system. I arrived and was told it's a 3-5 hour wait and that's normal!!!! 3-5 hour wait. To get snow tires put on. They need to get this sorted out. I have no idea how they are still in business. Other shops allow you to schedule while they remain a first come first serve. It doesn't seem that they are focused on service - just volume. What a Godsend. I didn't even know this place existed. I didn't see it online when I searched, but thankfully the guy from Sears recommended it when I panicked about them not having my tires in stock. I'd called 4 places and with my needing to pick up my son for the holidays and no car places having rentals available, I was starting to sweat. In comes Tire Rack. Other places gave me a three-day wait, but they had them right in stock. A quick drive up and an hour wait had my car in the stall and being worked on. What's more, their prices were a couple hundred dollars cheaper than the other places (full set of four), with no need to wait. Staff was efficient, courteous and knowledgeable. I love, love, love Tire Rack. Buying tires for a Mini Cooper can be an expensive pain in the ass. There is not a single ultra high performance summer tire out there in a non-RFT in the size of tire that BMW made up. So I used a widget to figure out other size options, and went to http://www.tirerack.com where I found a tire that was less than half the cost of the lessor of few evil options I had otherwise. I placed the order Sunday night, and received a call Monday morning from a very helpful rep named Doc. Doc explained that this alternate size might be just a tad wide, but the same tire comes in another size that would fit my car very well, and it would be even cheaper! He even bothered to tell me that the slightly smaller diameter of the tire would leave my speedometer showing something a little faster than reality -- a fact I knew, but certainly a mark of great service, no? My tires arrived at the installer on Wednesday, as promised, with the cheapest available standard shipping, and it probably would have been faster if not for the snow in the sierras right now. Oh yeah, did I mentioned that you can have the tires shipped directly to the installer? Use Tire Rack. Use the reviews on the tires and on the installers -- some of whom have their rates posted right there on the site. Use customer service, because they really do know what they're talking about. So I really wish I had reviewed this company over the years previously because they were absolutely fantastic and have provided a lot of great things to consumers with regards to tire selection and review, I'm genuinely disappointed with where the company has ended up. So to summarize, Tire Rack has made it clear that in this day and age, when failure of protecting consumer information is constantly in the news, they have absolutely no problem over-reaching and requesting an absurd amount of personal information from customers. There are numerous other solutions implemented by vendors everywhere for account validation that does not involve requiring customer to have their information publicly available or provide unnecessary information. The fact that tire rack has not implemented these solutions tells me they either have a vested interested in selling customer data or they do not value customer privacy, either way I cannot support a company of that nature. I recently place an order for a single replacement, using paypal (which I use with numerous other reputable vendors frequently and never have any issues), and was contacted via email stating my order required additional credit card validation (immediate red flag because I didn't use a credit card directly, so to my knowledge the vendor should on see that the order was completed with paypal) in the form "a phone number that is listed with Directory Assistance, under your name or your employer's name", which really raised the level of suspicious activity since all of my numbers are unlisted, and they have no way to validate my employer so I'm not really sure what the would gain from a validation standpoint, they would definitely gain valuable information to sell to third parties and use for market research and analysis. Upon contacting Tire Rack, the informed me that they did in fact have the right number provided from a previous order, but due to the high number of fraudulent order through paypal they require additional verification. (Not sure why the continue to allow it as a form of payment then but okay) and that in fact they only needed a "a valid number with a valid person on the other end" to confirm the order, which me calling about my order somehow didn't meet. The staff member from tire rack was helpful enough, but could not seem to give me clear information on how they would validate my purchase, and even went as far as to say "Usually the orders that are valid just provide us the information and ones who argue about it are fraudulent", which both is offensive and seems counter intuitive, basically, if you care about protecting your person information, you are a committing fraud. I may have just ended up on the wrong end of some shitty algorithmic software they purchased to detect fraudulent activity, but based on my phone call with them it seems they are insistent on obtaining customer information that provides no use for identity validation and is strictly used for sale/marketing purposes. read more

I recently purchased a wheel and 3 extra caps for my current wheels from these guys. Everything showed up on time (actually earlier than expected), and was exactly what I had asked for. Once I received my package, I went out to my car to put on the caps and realized that I only had 1 missing, not all 3. It was the easiest return I have ever had to deal with.
