I visited this Discount Tire location because my steering wheel had started shaking at highway…read morespeeds. I asked them to balance the front tires to diagnose the issue. After removing the front right wheel, they informed me that the rim was slightly bent and told me that this was likely causing the vibration. They also told me they rotated the tires, explaining that my front left tire would now be on the right rear and the front right would move to the left rear. After leaving the shop and driving on the highway, the shaking was still there. When I got home, I inspected the tires and immediately noticed something wasn't right. The wheel with a scratched center cap was still in the same front-right position. I also found the tire plug that I had previously installed in my front-left tire still on the front-left wheel. It was clear that the tires had not been rotated. I returned to the store and asked whether the tires had actually been rotated. Initially, I was told that they had been. When I pointed out the evidence, the employee then admitted that they had only performed the balancing service and had not rotated the tires. I spoke with the manager, who apologized and agreed to have the work redone. While waiting, I observed a technician placing a ratchet/wrench directly on the roof of my vehicle. When I picked up the car, I found scratches on the paint where the tool had been resting. Unfortunately, my vehicle has matte paint, which cannot simply be polished to remove the damage. I also noticed new scuffs and scratches on the leather steering wheel that were not there before the visit. The reason for my low rating is not that mistakes happened - mistakes can happen anywhere. The problem is that I was told the tires had been rotated when they had not been, and my vehicle was returned with cosmetic damage. To their credit, they eventually completed the tire rotation after I brought the issue to management's attention, which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. Overall, this experience left me disappointed due to the lack of attention to detail, poor communication, and damage to my vehicle.

This issue could have seriously injured my family and I, but luckily where are all okay. If you value you and your family's safety, do not take your vehicle to Midas. They do not have the proper procedures or people in place to ensure your parts are properly installed back onto your car. You would think that properly installing and torquing the lug nots on your wheels would be important. On 3/2/24, I took my truck into Midas to get my breaks changed out prior to a road trip. The owner and the store manager assured me that all of the work was guaranteed and that they would take care of me. On 3/8/24 at 10:30 pm in the middle of Mississippi, the front left driver wheel started wobbling and I immediately pulled over. Upon inspection, I identified that there was one broken and missing stud and there were three lug nuts that were loose. Luckily, we noticed the wheel wobbling before it completely came off and caused a serious wreck. Our truck was towed and taken to a local Ford dealership where they confirmed that the lug nuts were not properly torqued. This flipped our vacation upside down and caused 3 days of the vacation to be lost and thousands of dollars in expenses due to truck repairs, tow trucks, a rental car, hotel, and food expenses. During this whole situation, the Lake Jackson Midas manager was updated multiple times a day. I continued to ask to speak with the owner, but the owner never called and never asked if we were ok. This tells you that the owner does not value customers, but only money. The manager informed me that the Owner said that his insurance was going to cover all expenses and the situation, but I never got a call from the owner or the insurance company. There are plenty of other shops in Lake Jackson that would do a much better job than Midas and will keep you and your family safe. Do not take your vehicle to a place where the owner does not care about the safety of his customers.
