After having a good experience and yelping Tires Plus as a five, this time experience was not the same. This is 3rd time one of us has used them for oil change. I heard the phone call to set the appointment where he asked about oil change cost AND if they rotate tires, a brand they sell but we didn't buy there, which was disclosed on phone call, and was told 'yes, they would rotate them for free if he got oil changed. He did not ask when he dropped car off as we thought it was 'already determined'...then was charged $24. The staff on duty was not willing to adjust it. Well, thanks. I have a hard time even giving them 1 star, I bought 4 tires less then a year ago with a 65,000 or lifetime warranty , set appointment for 4 pm, sat for 3 hours in a dirty waiting room and finally had to beg them to fix my tire next as I am on a portable oxygen machine, when I called to make an appointment I explained tire had a nail in it ,the manager assured me that warranty would cover , I asked him twice and he stated yes it was covered ,I got there at 3:45 and the manager said it would be a few minutes , that they where finishing another car , after 3 hours and my begging them to fix tire , they stated tire unfixable and I would not be covered with my warranty , by this time they replaced the tire before asking me and then charged me $131.86 for a new tire, what they did is scammed a senior citizen on oxygen making me wait 3 hours manager was long gone, only 1 worker there , I am putting reviews everywhere , everyone should know what a horrible place this is. read more

They put on the wrong size tires--over an inch difference in diameter compared to the existing ones. We had the differential replaced (at significant personal expense), but the problem recurred almost immediately--the second differential burned out in the same short timeframe. Only then did we discover the mismatched tire sizes were the root cause. Even the mechanic who performed the work acknowledged that the incorrect tires directly caused these failures by forcing the AWD system to compensate constantly for the diameter discrepancy. When we contacted Tires Plus to report the issue and seek resolution, they refused to accept responsibility. Instead, they tried to blame it on "differential fluid" issues, demanding receipts for fluid changes--even though the fluid was replaced during each differential repair, and the exact same failure happened again right after. It's clear they're deflecting from their error in installing improperly sized tires on an AWD vehicle, which any knowledgeable tire professional knows can destroy differentials due to uneven rotational speeds. This has cost us thousands in repairs, downtime, and frustration, all because of negligent work and poor follow-up. We will be reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau, our state's consumer protection agency, and any relevant automotive industry oversight channels to ensure others are warned and to seek further accountability. We brought my 4WD vehicle to Tires Plus for new tires. They installed the wrong size tires-- This caused a -3.4% of a diameter difference and a -165 lbs per tire load index difference compared to the correct ones. This caused immediate and severe stress on the drivetrain, leading to the differential failing within a couple thousand miles. I had the differential replaced- very expensive, but the same issue recurred almost shortly after replacing the differential--I recently was made aware of the mismatched tires, then my mechanic mentioned the mismatched tire sizes were the issue. The wrong tires on my vehicle can cause damage to the Rear Drive Module, the mismatched rotation speeds also place immense stress on the Power Transfer Unit, and The vehicle's computer monitors wheel speeds via the ABS and Traction Control sensors. When I contacted Tires Plus to report the issue and seek resolution, they called to get information from me and said I would receive a call back, received two calls and was told someone hire up would call the next day, no call. So I call the next day. After explaining the issue for a third time it boiled down to blame it on "differential fluid", demanding receipts for fluid changes--even though the fluid was replaced during the differential repair, and the exact same failure happened again right after. I was told by the store manager that without receipts of differential fluid changes they will not replace tries. They didn't even offer a refund for the tires. Quite frankly the worst service I've ever received. I unfortunately thought that they could be trusted to handle routine maintenance to recharge my A/C. They discussed needing some routine maintenance. Now, my car with 60k miles on it has a damaged converter, an undisclosed $700 bill (after lead to believe the bill would be $350), and a check engine light that was never on before coming in. What should've been a 1-2 hour appointment became a full day affair without anything resolved. After fighting with them to cover a diagnostic fee of the problem THEY created, they told me I could pay an additional $400 to fix the problem, or they said "just run the sh*t out of the engine". I'm still awaiting return calls from their staff. When I went to pick up the car, the men handling the issue had of course left, so my frustration and confusion was put on their mechanic who had no idea of the situation (sorry Kevin). Would recommend only if you want to be ripped off and your car returned in worse shape than when brought in! read more

I usually have a great experience however today I was Super disappointed. Just was at tires plus and I caught them recommending something they had just done two months ago. And now the person at the desk (who I've never seen before/maybe is new) is fumbling about whether the product was bad or if their tech was full of shit. I directly even asked 'did they recommend based on looking at the part or if it's just a box they check at every oil change' multiple times and he couldn't answer with a yes/no. read more

On December 18th, I requested an appointment online for Saturday, December 23rd at 5pm as it was an available timeslot. Two days later, on Wednesday, December 20th I was contacted by Josh asking to change the time to 2pm as there were too many people coming picking up at 5pm that day. I agreed as that was more than reasonable and I really appreciated the call to reschedule. That Saturday rolls around, I arrive about 10 minutes early for my rescheduled appointment to find Tires Plus seemingly not even open. Another person rolled up looking for service and after checking the doors in case the sign was just not turned on, the place was in fact closed. I reached out to corporate customer service number, only to have someone answer that had a malfunctioning headset as they couldn't hear me and ended up hanging up on me. I reached out online to customer service and heard back today (December 26th) that someone would reach out to me in a couple of days. I am not holding my breath. I had always had great experience at Tires Plus, but the last few months have been awful with also trying to dispute them refusing to warranty on tires (getting less than 20k miles on 70k mile tires with regular rotation and alignment). I get a change in management and employees can cause some issues and maybe staffing is an issue, but contacting someone to change their appointment and then just closing without a call or even note on the door is not any way a business should operate. I'm at a loss and if I wasn't dealing with a tire issue and warranty, they would not get my business again. read more

Manager Matt. Matt was terrible and offered 0/10 service. He is a fraudulent individual. Tires Plus truly messed up with hiring him to "manage" this store. I am visiting my family in Lacrosse and have a 10 hour drive ahead of me back to school. Matt said that I needed tie rods and an alignment. As shown in the photos, clearly only one of my tie rods were replaced. They weren't even properly replaced. They were half-assed replaced. The clip that goes on the tie rod was not placed back, causing fluid to steep out. The left tie rod was not replaced whatsoever. Also shown, the steering rack boot was not secured. Furthermore, we paid for an alignment and my car was never realigned. Even more, Matt said that I needed new struts. My car never needed struts. He was going to charge us hundreds of dollars more to get new struts, and my car never needed new struts. When I got to Tires Plus and came to talk to Matt, the manager, about this, he told me he needed to go to the bank and that he would be back. He never came back..Matt is a coward and knew that he messed up. Thankfully, Jake, was there to apologize for Matt's embarrassing, inappropriate and disrespectful behavior. Jake fully refunded us, understanding our frustration. He met us with compassion and respect for Matt's wrongful actions and behavior. In all, if you ever come in contact with Matt at Tires Plus, ask for Jake. Overall this is just a good business with a poor manager, Matt, being in charge. read more

DANGER - EXTREME CAUTION NEEDED!!! DO NOT PURHCASE TIRES OR HAVE THEM DO ANY TIRE SERVICES. URGENT _ MUST READ - 6/19/24 son took van to Tires Plus in Onalaska. Tires were rotated/oil changed. He is local and stayed in town until 6/28 when he went to Brewer game and returned on 6/30. On the way home he messaged me that something was wrong and the van was making a noise and I advised to schedule an appoint and he emailed Tires Plus for an appointment before continuing home (we have confirmation of this). He continued on and about 45 minutes later while on interstate I90 by Portage in the left lane doing 70 mph with 4 adults in the vehicle the left front tire goes flying off the car and comes to a screeching halt. He was able to get it on the shoulder, lucky to be alive and not have killed or injured others, a tow truck and policy were called, tire was not found. It was towed to Madison which is the nearest Firestone/Tires Plus. Jerod the manager at that store couldn't be nicer and said that "to be clear, you will not have to pay for any repairs for the vehicle" and he was understanding and compassionate. I tried to work through the process with the Onalaska store, I called and left messages a handful of times of which I have verification and Matt not once called me back. Keeping it short Matt the manager at the Onalaska store assured me a claim had been filed on 7/11, it was not. I waited to hear back, to hear anything and did not and on 7/16 I called back and once again was told it was and when pressed he could not give me any claim/file number or contact info of any kind. I was not satisfied with that answer and searched for some number to call to find out anything and called 1-800-543-7522 and only then found out less then 30 minutes ago a claim was just filed, only after I called him asking again. He flat out lied to me and never showed any concern of any sort at any point. My vehicle to this day is not repaired, my local Firestone manager (I don't live in La Crosse) has been trying to help as she as well knows this is not right and not my fault and yet the claims teams says that the fire falling off is consistent with hitting a curb or a pothole. There are no curbs on the interstate. I emailed on 8/13/2024 the socialcare@bfrc.com email with my case number that is often mention in these posts saying to do and they can help and no response 4 days later so saying to do so is just lip service on their part. This may be long, so bear with me. I called on June 27th about getting my car in to get an alignment done. Matt said I could drop it off the next morning anytime. I dropped my car off around 9 and he said it would take a couple hours, which was fine since I had a few errands to run. A few hours later, I get a call from Matt saying they were going to do a brake flush. A couple hours after that I receive another call from Matt saying that one of his mechanics, seared a bolt on the rear lateral link. He said that they didn't have the part in store and that he would pick it up from pischke in west Salem in the morning. I informed him that I had to work at 2pm the next day and he assured me that it would be done before that. The next day rolls around and I did not receive any calls at all. I called around 230, I was already late for work, and Josh answered the phone. When I explained my situation, he had no idea about anything relating to my car. He had to put me on hold and go ask someone. He said that the part didn't get to the shop until 20 mins before I called. I had to wait another day for my car. Later that night, Josh called me and said that the bolt was stuck and he tried all day to get it out. Shortly after that, he said it should be fixed by Tuesday at the latest. Now we are at today. I get a call while at work from Matt. He says "You aren't going to like what I have to say". He tells me that they aren't able to replace the bolt that HIS mechanic seared off and that they needed to replace the entire part and I had to pay for it. I was flabbergasted. Why on God's green earth would I be responsible to pay for a brand new part because a mechanic wasn't paying attention? I was heated. In the end, my sons dad picked my car up and fixed it himself and I now am in possession of my car again. I had a good experience the last time I visited the onalaska tires plus, but Matt changed that real quick. read more

I drove from Iowa to La Crosse to be able to get my old changed on a Saturday so I didn't have to miss work. I first went to Valvoline on Mormon Coulee because online it said they were open 8-5 pm on Saturday. They have two shops right next to each other and both were locked. So they I found online a business called Tires Plus. They have an online booking system. I booked an appt and when I submitted it gave me an error message. But it was nice because immediately it gave me the message "Call the Store". So I clicked it and was transferred to the Tires Plus Shop. The male that answered said he could fit me in. And I said what time. And he said. Get here as soon as you can. I was 6.2 miles away and got here in 11 minutes. I walked in and the guy standing at the counter was conversing with a female. They both looked at me like I was interrupting them. I told him that I was there with my BMW I just called about. He said he is the only one up front and he didn't talk to me. He said he has no openings. I told him I was just told to come to the specific address. He said let me see the phone App on your phone. And it rang directly to him. He again told me he couldn't find the time to help me. I asked him to check with the others working in the back. And he said I am the only one that would be answering the phone. I still don't have time to help you. No sorry or apology for my inconvenience. I walked out and told him that was a shitty way of doing business. Will not go near that place again! I stopped at Tires Plus not by choice. I was five hours from home when I noticed some serious issues with my car. They were the only mechanic that was still open and I am so very happy for that fact. The team at Tires Plus was professional, nice, and very patient. Never once did they talk down to me or make me feel stupid. They were very understanding and did their best to make me feel comfortable being so far from home with no one I knew. I ended up having to stay the night in town because it was so late. They called me first thing the next morning and let me know what was happening with my car. I would recommend this place over and over again to anyone in the area. It actually makes me a little sad that they are so far away, or this would be my mechanic. read more

While visiting our daughters at UWL this past weekend we blew a brake line and hose on our 1999 Chevy Suburban late Saturday evening. Pulled into the shop about 9:30AM. Told the Service Manager my issue. Got the vehicle in right away. Informed me they needed to get one of the parts as it wasn't in stock. Quoted me a price and how long the repair would take. Took my husbands highlander here for a simple oil change. About an hour after we left the check engine light came on. We had to spend $100 to get the car diagnosed and we found out they somehow disconnected a hose and left the oil cap off. So our $45 oil change turned into $145. read more

I just installed completely new suspension into my truck and it needed an alignment. Went to TP because they offer lifetime alignment and my truck is a keeper and I like to wrench on it. As soon as it's on the rack, tech calls me up to the desk and says I need new left inner tie rod for $199. This is strange because I just checked for play when I did the new suspension 5 miles ago. I tell him to do the alignment anyway, I think it's tight. He says it was 7-8 bad on a scale of 1-10, so they have to fix it. I tell him I'll be back in an hour, I'm going to go put a tie rod in myself for $30. I drive through town to get a new inner tie rod, get home and pull the tools out again. BS. Tie rod is tight AF so I leave the old one in. Went to Dahl where I should have gone in the first place. Great service and mechanics. I tell them to take a close look at tie rods, it might be loose. They say front end is tight and looks great, they get my alignment perfect. I fell for the Tires Plus 'lifetime' alignment even though it's twice as much. Works great if you want to get boned for your whole life. read more

Great service even on a blizzard afternoon. Tire with a bad puncture at the edge and explained why it could not be safely fixed. The spare also was leaking at the bead and explained it was original spare 20+ years old and could not be safely repaired. No one had showed us that before at place tires had been applied and the current tires were only a little over 10000 miles. I verified that independently and confirmed. They gave me a great deal on new tire and new spare and had it done in 90 minutes. I've been here before and will certainly be back. Went to pull my car out of the garage after it being stored for 4 months and found it with a dead flat tire.. Brought it in to Tire's Plus and got a new tire put on for a very honest, respectable price.. Anyhow, go to start it the next morning, got myself a dead flat again.. Same wheel too.. Frustrated, I bring it back in and Tony and his team come to find I had a slight crack on the inside of my rim that was leaking air.. Due to my rims being aftermarket and also on backorder for months, I had to unfortunately bite the bullet and order a completely new set.. Tony, Kevin, and Steve were all extremely helpful in making sure I had the proper specs and measurements so that whatever I bought would fit my existing tires.. They let me ship them straight to the shop and installed them no problem.. Even swapped my TPMS monitors at no charge.. Being new to the La Crosse, WI area it's nice to know I found an auto shop I feel comfortable visiting and working with.. Thanks again fellas!! read more

I had a screw in my tire which was plainly visible. I called ahead and was told by Kevin that they would get it taken care of as soon as possible. Dropped off van at 12:00pm and was told that they would call as soon as it was fixed. My husband called back at 3:30pm to check on the status and was told that the van was the "next to be pulled in". We never received a call so we showed up at 6:50pm -10 minutes before they closed. The van had not moved from being dropped off at noon. I went inside and asked for the keys to the van at which time Kevin said that they would get to the van tomorrow. This was a shock because of the lack of communication and total disregard for our time. Apparently, they would have locked the doors and kept my keys overnight without a call. Luckily, I was there before closing and could get my key and van. My husband wanted the tire patched but ended up plugging it himself. This was an easy fix that was mishandled throughout the entire process. I will not recommend this business to anyone. read more

I have gone to Tires Plus for about 3 years getting oil changes and small to medium maintenance jobs on my car. I just recently drop my car in for a oil change and the automotive tech that was working on my car came out and told me my lower control arm bushings had dried up and were 100% gone. The cost to have this fixed was $755 including labor. I wanted a second opinion and brought it to another shop and they told me that my lower control are bushing were completely fine they even let me come out and take a look. I will never go back to Tires Plus ever again. read more

I had metal piece stuck in my tire that I wanted to get repaired by a mechanic after I tried one of those tire plug kits myself with no luck of a good seal. I explained that I had tried to plug it and it didn't really work to the man at the front desk and even showed it to him on the tire which he marked with chalk. He claimed that it "shouldn't be a problem" and could get it done in under an hour and he would call me when it was finished. After 1 hour and 30 minutes I returned to store after receiving no phone call. My tire was still leaning against the wall where I had left it. I asked the front desk if or when they would get to it and she almost immediately brought it back to there shop. A couple minutes later she asks me to come back so she can show me something, where another mechanic gave me the answer I wish they could have given me an hour and a half ago which was "they couldn't touch it because I had already tried a plug kit." The plug was still sticking out and I asked him if I could remove it and then they could patch it and he quickly explained they couldn't do that and referred me to another "non corporate tire shop" in the area. He did apologize for the waiting and carried my tire to my truck. I won't be wasting my time going back to this place again. read more
