I have been a customer of this shop since 1997 and have brought multiple vehicles here over the years, including cars belonging to my children and my mother. Because of that long history, I trusted their recommendations and diagnosis.7 I recently brought my vehicle in because it was shaking badly during acceleration. I relied on the shop's diagnosis and authorized the recommended repair (replacement of struts). After paying for the repair, I picked up the vehicle and immediately noticed the original problem -- the vibration during acceleration -- was still present. I was later told the issue may actually be related to the CV axle/joints, which directly corresponds to the symptom I initially reported when I brought the vehicle in. This was very disappointing because the repair I paid for did not address the reason for my visit. Over recent visits, I experienced a pattern where I came in for one specific concern but left being advised to repair other items while my original complaint remained unresolved. Accurate diagnosis is extremely important because auto repairs are expensive and transportation is necessary for daily life. I used money set aside for my car payment and household expenses to complete this repair, believing it would correct the problem. Finding the same issue still present immediately afterward placed me under significant financial stress and caused me to lose confidence in the service I was receiving. After nearly three decades as a customer, it is not easy to make this decision, but I no longer feel comfortable continuing service here and will be seeking another mechanic. It's irritating only when I am trying to pay and I have to wait for the greetings, back-slapping, hand-shaking and good natured ribbing to end. Dropped my car off at 1 was told it be a hr to 2 hrs. It took almost 4 hours. And when I asked why it took so long they say o we were busy. Well idk what takes 4 hours to change 1 tire! They called me after having my car for 3 hrs asking how to open my trunk. I have a retired police car. Explained to them then they didn't mention anything about not having my tire in stock. They call me again a half an hour later telling me my car ready. They waited tell I got there to tell me that they didn't have my tire so they just put something different on. And when I said well I wish I knew that I would have gone somewhere else because I rather have matching tread tires on every tire. They tell me well you don't have matching tires, and I say yeah I do and she argued with me. So I went out and proved her wrong. The lack of care for customer service is sad. And as a tire shop they should know that different tread tires can cause issues. I don't appreciate the way we were treated there. I just bought brand new tires here 50% less than what I would have paid at the dealership. No sooner the first time I drove the car I ran over a nail!. I took it in and they patched it at no charge. Pricing is displayed well, they have good warranty program. The service was very friendly, they all wore masks. Social distancing was encourage. Typically I do all tire service at Safety Tire in Gulfport, including replacement tires as Safety Tire allows me to have tires shipped directly to them from Tire Rack online and then I just pay the fees to mount/balance/align, etc. However, just got caught up in some roofing contractor nightmare that took out two of my tires with an assortment of nails, so no hope of safe repair, and needed four new tires asap. Safety Tire was booked solid for a week so I started looking around. Tires Plus had pricing that was a few dollars less than Tire Rack, could get the same exact tire make/model I wanted next day, and set me up with an appointment. Showed up 15 hours later, they had the tires, appointment started on time, price was a few dollars less than their website quoted, all around great experience. They will do a "courtesy check" and make all kinds of recommendations with no knowledge if the items are actually needed, like coolant flush, brake flush, etc. which they can't know how recent they were done or if truly needed, but you can just ignore all that and decline the services. The alignment they'll do comes with a 12-mo warranty, so if your car starts to pull to one side or the other, bring it back and have it remedied for free. read more

Honest review , they do a decent job at whatever your getting done on your car here, and if you do have a problem with your service they usually fix it right away when you bring it back in but they lie about their prices and the managers are pushy to get services done and their employees seem disgruntled. I would recommend this location. I found a screw in my front tire late yesterday afternoon. Most tire repair shops had closed or were soon. I then called a Tires Plus that was too busy and then a Tire Kingdom (located across the street from this Tires Plus) that was too busy but recommended the Tires Plus across the street (I've gotta give "Chris" credit for recommending his direct competition). I called and spoke with "Q". They were full with appointments until they closed at 7. But I could hear it in his voice that he genuinely did want to help so after letting me know that situation and that it might take them past 7pm to fix, I accepted his invitation. I give "Q" and the friendly team there a LOT of credit! Those guys bust their butts all day long and almost entirely in the heat! I'm very grateful that they got me in and had my car ready and now safe to drive by 7:15pm. And let's face it, it was a $30 service, so they made it happen knowing that fixing my car wasn't going to blow up their overall sales. read more

I rarely write reviews. But this was my final straw with tires plus. I have have been treated with bad customer service 2 of the last 3 times I have been here. Customer service was rude and condescending. Simple tire service has taken twice as long as a normal tire service station. Will never go back. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else. This place is very shady. I brought my car in to get my tires rotated and after i left i heard a loud thumping noise, so i went to the closest dealer in East Saint Petersburg, where they determined one tire was so loosely bolted, it was wobbling. In fact every bolt on every tire was not tight. When they tried to tighten the real loose one, it was stripped and i had to have the entire rotor replaced. I went back to the original place that did it and they did they replacement, but when i told them them that their mechanic needs to be reeducated, they told me they fix what they break. I had to stop here unexpectedly while I was on vacation due to brake component problems. I called them and they told me to bring it on over. I dropped the vehicle off with them at approx 3:30 pm. They called me approx an hour later to tell me what they found and what they wanted to replace. It was a rather high pressure sales pitch to be sure. One of my best friends has been a mechanic for decades and another one works at a parts warehouse, and I have a pretty good bit of experience myself. I know most of what needed to be replaced, what the parts probably cost them and even how to do it, but I was on vacation and didn't have time, facilities or tools available to do it on such short notice. They called me back early the next morning and told me it was ready. The work seems to have been done very well and it hasn't given me any problems since. I guess the only part I didn't like was the high pressure sales pitch. You will definitely be paying a premium for parts, so if you have a reasonable idea of what needs to be done in advance you should be alright, but you'll have to be assertive too lol read more

I have gone to tires plus many times through the years at different locations. This particular establishment has a problem. Let's start with my partners car about 8-9 months ago. We brought it in for an oil change as many of us have to do. The problem was not with the oil change, but the damaged door to the center console. It was snapped right of the hinge. Remember this was an oil change, why would they even have to open the little door in the center console. We brought it back in once we noticed the damage and of course the service technician would not admit to it, who would ? There job is on the line. The manager was not on shift so we where asked to return and speak with the manager the following day, which we did. The car a 1996 Toyota Corolla's door was no longer in stock and had been discontinued so replacing it was not an option. I will say the manager did his best to glue it back together and give my partner a $200 credit. Now it was my turn, all I was getting was an alignment. They did call me a couple hours later and let me know that my tires where bald and one had separated. This was causing my vehicle to turn to the right. They recommended I purchase some new tires for the front, to which I agreed because I knew how bald my front tires where. I picked up my car and $369 later it ran smooth as butter. To date I have had no issues with the repair itself. A couple days later I open my trunk and boy was I upset. Not sure why they where in my truck other than to check my air pressure on the spare tire. What concerned and upset me was the condition in which they left he trunk. They could have put the trunk back in order or at least attempt to place it back in order. The panel that covers the spare tires was not placed back. Thank god nothing was damaged but as a paying customer, I expect to find things the way I had them before I gave my car up to the bussiness. The poor quality of this small detail, along with my partners issue will prevent me from ever visiting this particular store. read more

I went to get my tires done here Saturday. I went earlier in the week and because they count fit me in for a few days they gave me a discount. The tires are perfect and they are balanced. I went to take off my wheels to paint the rims and found my lugs and studs stripped pretty badly on my back wheels. I called them, spoke with the manager Harry, he fixed the studs and bought me an entire new set of lug nuts! Recognized what happened. Apologized and went above and beyond to fix it. I'd had a few places service my car (for oil changes) that was under par in customer service, and I got the idea from someone to try out Tires Plus for my oil change. Since it had "tires" in the name, I hadn't thought of them before, but turns out that they do so much more than tires. Well, Huberto was my man that helped me. From the time I called him to inquire he was so nice and calming on the phone and then when I got there I really felt I was in good hands. They got my car done for an excellent price and then had it completed well before the promised time. ** UPDATE ** Since my purchase, I found a screw in the rear driveside tire. Since I had ''road hazard'' it was replaced without cost to me. The other plus [a big plus to me, I didn't have my original bill. But they did and called it up on their computer and gave me a copy. A copy i now keep im my glove compartment. Replace my tire for no charge... good going guys and thank you. I had a run of bad luck when all i discovered all my tires need to be replaced due to tire rot. Also had to replace a fifth tire, the spare. I made an appointment and left the car there on a Saturday. I was very satisfied with the tires and courteous service. My only problem, the technician forced the spare tire cover under, instead of over the spare tire holder. I tried to get it off but to no avail. Super nice and cheerful right open walking in. I had called all over for tires Costco, Tire Kingdom, and Kauffman Tires. Costco and Kauffman were way too darn expensive. So it was down to Tire Kingdom...when I went in they went over their prices and gave me a $350 option or a $700+ option. As I was about to leave I saw this place near Tyrone Mall and tried there. They were able to get me a better price and got all of my tires changed in an hour. I would definitely be a return customer and highly suggest to give this place a shot! read more

We had a tire shred as we were leaving town to head home to Tallahassee late Sunday afternoon. Most tire shops nearby where we were stranded were closed Sunday.
