I made an appointment days in advance, told them my tire size and everything and had the first appointment of the day (7AM). First they said my car wouldn't be ready til 12 when I was literally the only person there, then when I paid for an uber home then called to say they didn't have the correct tire size and they were waiting for it to be transferred from another store and my car wouldn't be ready til almost 2pm. Very inconvenient, and unprofessional when someone made the appointment days in advance and provided the exact tire size to avoid a confusing situation like this. I also explicitly requested to keep the tires that were on my vehicle and told them to leave them in the trunk (they're expensive tires and I wanted to resell them) and when I came in to get my vehicle at 12:30, they informed me they did NOT in fact save my tires and only took $40 off my bill for throwing away three of my tires.... don't give yourself the headache of giving these people your money, just go to sam's or costco it will be worth it in the end. read more

I've been going to this location for the past three years and I sincerely have no clue why I have continued to come back for that long. Today, I dropped off my car to get one tire changed. 3hrs later I come back asking how much longer and why they haven't even touched my car yet. They immediately grabbed the keys and said "I'll get it done now" as if they were just taking their sweet time knowing I wasn't waiting in-shop for it. I'm only speaking from experience of this location. Every time I bring my car into this place, I kick myself afterwards. I've never received good quality service from this place, especially for the amount of money they charge. So why do I bring my car in to this place? Because it's within the free 5-mile tow distance that's included in my AAA coverage. Today my car doesn't start, and AAA suggests I bring it in to the shop to verify whether it's the starter or the alternator. 9am, my car's towed into the shop and I pay for the "Vehicle Inspection," whatever that entails. For some reason, the car starts just fine now that it's at the shop, but they tell me that they'll do additional individual tests (which is important to me because I don't want to be stranded somewhere in the near future because of a problem that could've easily been identified and fixed at the auto shop). They say it'll take 1-3 hrs. I head home and wait for a call back. ...which never comes. I had to call them myself to follow up. It's 4:15pm and I haven't heard back; have they figured out what happened this morning? "No, car's been starting just fine all day. We'll need to run a 'full diagnostic' to find out anything more; that'll cost $89.99." WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING WITH MY CAR ALL THIS TIME?!?! Why didn't anybody tell me this earlier, maybe six hours ago when I was expecting an update?! Today was rough, but let me see if I can recall my past experiences with Tires Plus. Nine out of ten times walking in, they'll blindly tell you it's the battery and offer to sell you a new one. The "Vehicle Inspection" I paid for? Still not sure what that includes, but I'm guessing it only includes turning the key or checking the battery. In the past, we've brought a Mercedes into this place with the "Service Engine" light on, and they told us it was something, charged us more than a grand for parts and labor. A week later, the light popped right back on. We brought it in again, and they told us it was something else... Frustrating, to say the least. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS PLACE!! I ended up taking my car to Advance Auto Parts because they test batteries, alternators, starters, and engine lights for FREE. I'm glad I did! It took a minute for them to verify that the battery is good, but the terminal connection to the battery was not as snug as it should be. They cleaned the connections and fit them back on tightly. I also had a "Service Engine" light that's been on. It took another two minutes to plug their computer into the car to figure the problem. So keep your $89.99 and head to somewhere else. read more

I needed to get new tires. After calling all over town. This store came in with the best deal. I talked to DeeDee and she was very friendly,professional and helpful,when I got to the store. I met the manager Tim who was also extremely friendly and helpful,They even had firehouse subs for the customers waiting. I am extremely happy-I chose to come here to get my tires done. They up-sell WAY too much. Price shop before making your decision. Even if your car is ahead of the line they'll put it on the back burner to do oil changes and tire rotations, making you wait longer. read more

Took our five year old Toyota Tacoma to them wanting to get alternator checked out since our brand new 5 year old battery died. They told us it would cost $850 for a new alternator that we needed. We couldn't pay that much, so took it directly to Toyota dealership the same day. We told Toyota dealership exactly the same thing.....Toyota dealership told us there is NOTHING wrong with the alternator. Working just fine! We will never go to Tires Plus (guess that means PLUS the extra $$$$$ they are going to rip off of you!). BEWARE folks....definitely not honest mechanics !! read more

Never ever go here ever. I went in to go get my oil changed and ended up having to wait more than 3 HOURS in the TiresPlus shop. I asked the workers how long it would be and they reassured me that my car would be next to go in to her repaired for maintenance but ended up waiting another 2 HOURS. There was one other customer besides myself and it still took forever. I got there before the other customer did and he got his car before I did. Please don't ever come here read more

I'm honestly very surprised at the negative reviews. Maybe they've changed management in the past few months? Now granted, I did not have any major work done on my car here so I guess you can take my positive review with a grain of salt. However. I was told it would take 45-60 minutes for my 4 wheel alignment. It probably took about 35. The customer service person that handled my transaction, Jazz, clearly quoted the pricing for 3 options for the alignment. $79.99 for a standard, one time. $129.99 for a 3 year agreement. And I believe it was $159.99 for a lifetime agreement. They also accepted the $10 any alignment coupon I had printed offline. Jazz and Morgan were both polite and efficient. I would come back to this location for basic, routine maintenance. read more

I usually come for an oil change and the only think keeping them from 5 stars is that they're a little pricey, however they are always honest and never try to sell me on anything I don't need. Recently I made an appointment to replace a tire (I ran over a bolt, that pierced my tire and made itself right at home) and they insisted on checking if they could patch it first, and they were able too- so that saved me $200! read more

I brought my van in as the exhaust was making noise. They told me it all needed replacing from the converter back. Gave me a price of over $900. I thought it was too much so picked it up with the quote and paid them $25 for the estimate. I called Sun Coast Auto Repair, told them what needed replacing and got a quote. The did it for $440 including installation and tax. After I compared there bill and tires Plus quote. They were all the exact parts. Assuming Sun Coast must make money off the repair, tires Plus was trying to rip me off real bad for a less than 2 hr job. Funny they called me back and offered to drop it down to $800 if I still wanted it done. I hate to think how much money I have wasted taking stuff there over the years. read more

I used this tires plus for 13 years. This weekend I went into this tires plus and there were some new faces and I wanted a car that we owned and had not been driven in a good year and was a bit beat up just given a basic inspection, an oil change and replace an out headlight before I turned it over to my daughter. We received a call a few hours later that the brakes were completely shot and it would 750 something dollars to fix the brakes. I bought tires at this same tires plus on this same car and only 500 miles previously the brakes were inspected and checked out just fine. I confronted the staff at the store with the paperwork showing the brakes were fine 500 miles earlier and they backtracked saying we misunderstood on the phone. These guys are pretty good compared to other car care shops or dealers. Made an appointment online and they actually were ready for it when I arrived. Called quickly to give diagnosis and get approval for repair. Quick to call again when repair was done. Never fun to take car in but this was about as painless as possible. read more

They offered no condolence for the inconvenience I had to wait an initial hour before they informed me that they mistakenly gave me a wrong price on my tires and the new price was nearly doubled when all was said and done. I had purchased for new tires for my car at this location. I went in for an alignment after a few months because my car was pulling. Tim (who I later found out was the manager) showed me a loose bolt near the control arms. I asked him if he could put it back in and he said no, I had to take my car to the dealer because it required special tools. It was clear where the bolt went into since it was just hanging there. I took the bolt so it wouldn't fall out, drove home, even through the tire definitely was not secure.. and I used the special tools to fix it myself, which required my finger putting it in the hole and a standard socket to tighten it up! Tim in no way should be a manager there. I recently just had new control arms put on, I called to have the tires aligned and the kid answered said that I had to speak with Tim to schedule the appointment. Tim was off that day, it was my only day off that week to have this maintenance done. So I had to go to the one on Dale Mabry! (which was fantastic service) The kid that answered said he thought Tim wanted to give me a credit since they were unable to do the alignment last time and to stop by. I stopped by this morning, apparently no one knew what I was talking about and Tim was just plain rude, unhelpful and in no way should be managing a store. read more

I have been there several times and always left there like I was getting ripped off and I am finally done. It's so close and convenient I just dealt with it. The final straw was that I had 2 tires that were losing their tread and 2 new tires: 1 had a nail in it, and 1 was perfectly fine. I asked them to save me the perfectly fine one and put it in my trunk in case I ever needed a spare. Instead, they put the one with the nail in there, wrapped it up so I couldn't open it, and said I was all set. No doubt in my mind this was intentional so they could keep the good tire to sell. Once I finally noticed and called they said the tires were all disposed of so there was nothing they could do. Not even a free oil change to apologize for their mess up. Don't go here. read more

Do not stop drive to anywhere but this high price, time lying joke of a business. Here are the quick details: 9 am appointment for a 2 hour brake job, at 2 pm I watched my car for over an hour not being worked on ( they had all parts on site) at 3 pm I asked what the status was? There words 10 minutes your out the door, at that point a guy runs to my car and starts working on it. At 4:15 they wheel my car around front, windows down, ac running, sits their 10 more minutes then calls me up and asks for a 10 on the survey. I filled it out and of course got no response ( 2 days they say) so I would give you a minus 100 if possible but sadly I can only give you a one. No need to give a lame response of ( sorry to hear but if you email us you statement number, phone number, date etc we will look into it) liars I already did and you did nothing. So I hope everyone reads all these negative reviews on here, not just mine and see what this place is truly all about. Follow we also bought tires from tires plus with the warranty and the other morning while my wife was driving the tire alarm goes off right next to this tire plus, they told her it would be 3.5 hours before anyone could check the tire pressure and 6 hours to put it on the rack. Now there are other tire plus stores that are awesome like Dale Mabry south or North but New Tampa is the worst. I wish I had read all the bad reviews first but if you don't good luck. read more
