    Laundry room

I hate writing bad reviews, but if I could spare anyone from this rental company I would.... 1,000 times! I lived in a property bought my this realtor company. Before they bought the property it was okay. But, after the property was bought by sunset pacific, things went downhill very quickly! The "property manager" NEVER did anything. We had a squatter in our complex the manager never did anything, I had people parking in my spot, he never did anything! I mean look at this photos of the laundry room. Our laundry room was DISGUSTING! I hated doing laundry when I lived here. The manager lived there and never cleaned up. There was no control when it came to parking, our neighbors were noisy, and when you complain to the property nothing happens. This a family owned business & all they do is protect each other instead of fixing the actual issue. I'm glad I don't live here anymore!

This entitled piece of crap from Sunset Pacific Realty blocked my garage.

After doing my research we decided to go with Good Life and I am so glad we did they made the process very easy. Malissa Martinez was my onboarding point of contact and I have to say she was very attentive, responsive and professional. She answered all my questions and kept me informed the next steps in the process. Emails came in daily with the updates that had been completed at my home in order to be put on the market. After that my property managment team consisted of Andrei Lechert- Kelly, Gerald Medalla and CJ Flores. Again, more professionalism with this team. Once the property was ready and we agreed on the rental price my home was listed on a Wednesday and by that weekend, Saturday, we have the home rented. It's been 5 months and I have no complaints. They have really taken care of everything and I haven't had to worry about a thing since. Highly recommend Good Life. 10 outta 10.

We first reported rat activity outside the property in May 2026. Good Life canceled that request as "Not maintenance issue." A second rodent request was also canceled. By July, we had specifically reported holes around the rear deck and asked whether conditions at the property were contributing to the problem. On July 31, a rat ran through our kitchen, and the pest-control technician found evidence of rodent activity in multiple kitchen areas. Good Life acknowledged that the owner is typically responsible for structural conditions allowing pests to enter. It also told us that it had received a report from Thrasher Pest Control and that the owner was reviewing it. Nevertheless, the response continued to focus primarily on trapping and monitoring while permanent exclusion work remained unresolved. Good Life later admitted that Thrasher had advised it that entry points needed to be accessed and sealed beneath the rear deck. When our dishwasher was eventually removed for repair, we discovered extensive apparent rodent droppings and debris concealed underneath it. We photographed the condition. The air-conditioning experience was similarly unacceptable. We submitted the repair request on July 22 during significant summer heat and reported indoor temperatures exceeding 85 degrees. The system was not repaired until September 3--43 elapsed days later. We purchased a window air conditioner and fans because the provided system remained unusable. This was not a matter of submitting a request and allowing management a reasonable opportunity to respond. We repeatedly had to send emails, seek updates, contact vendors ourselves, preserve records, and challenge inconsistent explanations before meaningful progress occurred. A Regional Manager eventually apologized for the "frustrating timeline," but an apology after months of preventable disruption does not restore the sleep, comfort, time, and peaceful use of the home that we lost. Good Life markets itself as providing proactive maintenance, attentive tenant communication, and stress-free property management. Our documented experience was the opposite. Based on how it handled serious rodent-entry conditions, a prolonged A/C outage, appliance problems, and communication throughout the process, we cannot recommend Good Life to either tenants or property owners. Note: We tried to attach photos depicting evidence of the rat infestation, but Yelp has deemed these too disgusting. Check Google ... they are posted there.

Ocean Beach Park Units…read more Beautiful Location, Excellent Management -- But Long-Standing Safety and Maintenance Issues Need Addressing We've been coming to this unit at Ocean Beach for 5-6 years, and there is a lot we love about it. The view is fantastic, parking is secure, and the unit itself is spacious and consistently clean. Communication from the management company was excellent as always -- clear instructions on rules, security codes, and answers to questions before we even had to ask. That said, there are two issues we feel need to be raised, one inside the unit and one outside of it. Interior maintenance: None of the interior locks (bathrooms, bedrooms) function properly. This isn't new -- it's been an ongoing issue every time we've stayed here over the past several years. We understand things break, but a problem that persists for 5-6 years across multiple stays is a fixable maintenance item that shouldn't still be outstanding. Safety and enforcement in the surrounding area: This is the bigger concern, and the reason we're reconsidering how often we book here. Throughout our stay, we regularly encountered individuals in visible mental health crisis behaving in threatening or indecent ways near the building -- several instances of public indecent exposure, and unpredictable verbal outbursts directed at people who got within 40-60 yards. In addition, the public lot next to the building (between our building and the lifeguard station) has become a semi-permanent encampment of RVs and cars, with tents, BBQs, and debris that don't move for days at a time -- despite posted signage prohibiting parking from 2am-4am, which should give authorities the basis to enforce turnover. We regularly saw arguments, yelling, and thrown items from this same group. On our last morning, as we were checking out, five police cars and what appeared to be a sanitation crew arrived and began clearing the area. We had to leave before seeing the outcome, but the timing says it all: enforcement action came right as we were leaving, after being exposed to the underlying problem for our entire stay. This isn't a one-time thing -- it's a persistent condition of this stretch of Ocean Beach. It's had a real cost: we used to coordinate trips here with three other families, booking multiple units at once, and they've stopped coming because of what they were exposed to. We love this unit and we love Ocean Beach. But we're increasingly weighing what we're paying against what we're exposed to, and that comes down to a lack of consistent enforcement by the city and local businesses -- not anything within the unit or management company's control. If these two issues (locks, and the surrounding safety/enforcement situation) were addressed, this would easily be a 5-star stay every time.

I called them to tell you about this issue and you said you'd send someone over to fix it and then call me back with the results. This never happened. This was unacceptable frankly. This issue messed with our plans and experience every day. On new years day we had to go back at around 10pm to prepare for our early morning flight, but we could not get in. I tried calling you and Airbnb, but I didn't hear back from you and Airbnb didn't reach back out until 6am. While we were drenched in the rain, my girlfriend and I continued dozens of attempts to unlock the door. It took almost an hour. We finally got in by some random miracle. I'm requesting money because not being able to enter a unit is a critical issue that ruined my entire trip.

But our property is old and of modest quality; it has several quirks. Initially, we went with Cal-Prop b/c of Melissa Kleifgen, one of their V-Ps. She knows about property management AND construction; she has helped coordinate improvements. She is friendly, direct, straightforward, and a solid communicator. She knows when to show her formal side, and when to reveal her sense of humor. Later, we discovered that they have an outstanding handyperson, Dirk. He must have a magic wand in his tool box. He is versatile, resourceful, and adaptable. He does quality work, with an eye to longevity. Example: We wanted to replace a back door at a vacant rental. At a yard sale, we found a gently-used "Hollywood" door. It's the kind that has little windows that you can slide up and down. Although it was too tall and too wide, he trimmed it to fit. It opens and shuts SMOOTHLY. He also notices things that need attention that we have overlooked. For instance, after the appliance company had replaced a gas stove with an electric one, he decided to cap off the gas line so that it could not be opened by accident. Dirk and some others did a fine job fixing up our vacant house. And Melissa and her team found us a pleasant new tenant. All within 27 days of when the former tenants had moved out! And they have been prompt about sending out a variety of people when repairs have been needed. We were nervous, but we didn't need to be. We are relieved.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of service and professionalism provided by this company,…read moreparticularly by my assigned account manager, Angxxxx, Throughout my experience, I found the communication, responsiveness, and handling of my property matters to be unacceptable and below professional standards. My tenant moved out on May 22, 2026. However, I was not notified promptly and only became aware after I contacted the account manager for an update. In addition, I was provided with an incorrect lockbox code, which prevented access to the property. Because this occurred over a weekend when the office was closed and assistance was unavailable, I had no choice but to change the lock in order to access the property and begin necessary repairs. After gaining access, the company proposed charging me more than $8,000 for repairs. I disagreed with the assessment and chose to have my own contrator to complete the necessary work. The repairs were completed properly, and I provided receipts and documentation within the required 21-days period. Based on my understanding, the appropriate charges should have been processed against the tenant's security deposit, but I received no follow-up communication or documentation from the company. Instead, the company refused to return my security deposit funds, claiming the money was being held as a reserve for repairs. This explanation was unreasonable because the property was vacant and I had already paid for the repairs myself. After multiple discussions and continued follow-up, I was finally able to recover the funds that should have been returned to me. Due to these ongoing issues, I terminated the company's management services. Following termination, the company failed to return my spare keys and parking permit. When I requested their return, I was told that no spare keys or parking permit were in their possession. This statement is incorrect. I personally provided the company with the keys and parking permit, and they were responsible for returning all property belonging to me upon termination of services. The overall handling of my account demonstrated poor communication, lack of accountability, and a failure to provide the level of professional service expected from a property management company. I am concerned that my requests were not handled appropriately after I ended the business relationship, and I expect the company to take responsibility for its actions and improve its procedures to prevent similar situations from occurring with other clients.

Less than a month before my stay Jeff and a co-host, Sisco cancelled my reservation saying they had to "redo" something in the unit and had to start on it immediately. They then stated the unit would not be available during my dates. Doing further research the unit was available to book weeks before my date. Then after I was cancelled and given my refund the dates I chose became available for a price increase equaling over $3500 plus fees. They most likely took a $50 penalty on their end. I could not change my dates and booked months out for a reason. I had to scramble and find a new stay because these guys wanted to be greedy. They realized they had an error for the price I was given and decided they wanted to cancel me for more money.
