I was finishing my workout using the pull-up/leg raise station located between the cable machines. While I was still using the station, a very tall young man who appears to be an EOS employee approached with a woman he was training or working out with. He asked if I was using the cable machine. I explained that I was not using the cable itself but I was actively using the station for leg raises and only had two sets left. Instead of waiting a moment, he immediately began setting up the cable equipment and told the woman with him to start her exercise while I was still there. The woman even looked uncomfortable and seemed to realize that I was still using the station. When I told him I only had two sets left, his response was dismissive and disrespectful. He said he didn't care and gave me a very aggressive look, as if he felt entitled to take over the equipment regardless of whether another member was using it. What concerns me most is that this isn't the first time I've seen this same employee behave this way. I previously witnessed similar behavior at the downtown location where he acted very territorial about equipment while training with someone. Employees should set the example for professionalism and respect inside the gym. No member should feel pushed aside or intimidated while finishing a set. I hope management addresses this, because behavior like this creates a very uncomfortable environment for members.

Jaron really knows what he is talking about, and I have been inspired by him in so many ways with workouts. To say a bit about his character, I can honestly say he truly cares about the people the people around him, doesn't judge a book by its cover, AND he is fun be around... SO much fun that you'll be laughing while working out (possibly helping with the strengthening of the ab muscles)!! When I asked Jaron about how to get a flat stomach once, I thought he would say to do sit-ups and crunches, etc. Nope. He said to use my body weight. I've been experimenting with things like push ups instead and, although arm strength is still as struggle, I've definitely seen (as well as felt) the difference. With cardio, I now have worked up to medium-paced jog (sometimes a mile at a time when I'm motivated), and it's cool to be able to notice the progress I've made. My metabolism has gone up and I am not nearly as hungry as when I was eating twice my portions. It has been fun being able to ask him questions (even if I'm embarrassed at times) and end up laughing during the conversation because he eases the tension. To say the least: I was 289 pounds back in November 2012. I am now 173 pounds and counting down, which means I've lost 116 pounds total because of the inspiration I have recieved being around Jaron and getting his help along the way. Thanks Jaron! You are an amazing motivator, a great friend, and make me want to stay healthy! :)

I was missing the strength & conditioning and this class is just what I was looking for. Peter and his team are highly qualified/trained/certified and it shows pretty much immediately. They are very engaged and constantly correcting and reinforcing proper movements versus being left to our own devices or learning bad habits. The location is perfect for me as well as the class time and frequency for my schedule and goals. The class size does not exceed 12 and we have formed a nice camaraderie, I was welcomed from Day 1. There is also nice variety in programming, it's not the same workout every time. -Kyle Opdyke

When I first joined, I was weak and recovering from back surgery. The whole team made me feel welcome and comfortable in the gym despite plenty of self-doubt. They worked with me to focus on my core and help me get back to a baseline fitness level and then exceed it. THe Prevail approach focuses on the whole person. Weak or strong, old or young, small or large, they will customize a workout for you and make you feel welcome and like you can achieve anything. I worked with Chris P. and Kyle during the 18 months or so I spent at the gym and cannot recommend them highly enough. Both trainers were amazing and pushed me when I needed to be pushed, but never harder than I could handle. I am in their debt. Peter, the owner, is very hands on and clearly cares about the results of each and every client. The whole team is beyond anything I could have imagined. If you're wondering if this is the right gym for you, I can assure you that it is. I've had a chance to work with almost everyone on staff and they're all wonderful. The only reason I don't train here anymore is because I've moved out of state. I miss them dearly.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: 2/5 A fella named Jake helped me get started with the 3 day pass, then followed up with a tour of the facility, which was a nice experience; HOWEVER, on my 3rd visit, this same Jake told me I could not access the facility since the person that helped me that day (a.k.a himself) didn't process the 3 day pass and wouldn't let me in without purchasing a Day Pass. Baffled, I explained the situation again to him and had to remind him that HE was the one that got me started and gave me the tour. He kept saying "nah man, gotta buy a day pass." This debacle took about 10 minutes, but he eventually, begrudgingly, let me in. I understand forgetfulness and mistakes, but his demeanor and handling of the situation was very poor. EQUIPMENT: 4/5 All the cardio and weightlifting equipment seem to be in good, functioning order. Only con here is there is not enough equipment for the busy times. CLEANLINESS/ORGANIZATION: 2/5 Dumbbells, weight plates, and other exercise equipment are often misplaced, so half of your workout time becomes a scavenger hunt. Bizarrely, there is no equipment rack for the cable machines, so attachments are strewn around carelessly. There's currently a hole in the wall due to members carelessly piling 45lb plates against the drywall. This lack of clean culture stems from the lack of direction from management directing staff to maintain an organized area. LOCKER ROOMS/RESTROOM: 5/5 Very modern and clean area. Definitely feels fancy being in there. OVERALL: 3/5 Fitness19 is a decent sized facility with a similarly decent demographic of members, but it is also clear that a decent portion of this demographic takes their fitness fairly seriously; this can be either inspiring or intimidating. If you are a beginner, you may find the crowdedness, disorganization, and overall culture off-putting. If you have some years of fitness under your belt, however, I do believe you will enjoy the gym (except during busy times: plan to spend at least 2 hours if you want to use any of the free weight equipment)

Time passed, I had a kid, decided to get my health back in order. Came in today to make sure everything was in order to come back. Had nobody at the front desk, a nice trainer came up to try to help and realized that they had an old card on file. I also asked to downgrade my membership from the premium that I had been paying for over 3 years without going. Totally my own issue I was asked to wait for a manager, which there was only 1 on staff. Waited, the girl was nice enough to me. Then came the rug pull. If I wanted to downgrade my account I would need to pay for the full year up front. I didn't mind that part, THEN they dropped that I would need to pay nearly $70 on top of that to downgrade my account. I pointed out how I paid nearly 3 years of non used memebership and that just seemed a little harsh. No wiggle room, no ability to talk to someone about it, just a straight fee with no remorse. I informed her that I would just cancel my membership instead and she then said I would still need to pay for another month to do so. Unbelievable. It came as no surprise to me to leave a review (For the record it takes a LOT for me to leave a bad review) to find so many people upset with their poor business practices. I'll be voting with my dollar by giving them none in the future. Watching the owner account pop in to give a verbal fluff and having nothing change is pretty telling.
