Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience with Titan Tree Services. Our written quote clearly stated that the lower portion of the tree would remain untouched for privacy (there are obvious cuts that we did not do), and that the upper portion would be lightly pruned to reduce leaf drop on our neighbor's roof and our carport (we paid for this service, not our neighbor). Instead, the tree was severely overcut--left lopsided, sparse in the center, and no longer functioning as a privacy screen. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we raised these concerns, the owner responded defensively and dismissively via email, claiming large cuts were needed--contradicting what was agreed upon in the quote and what we asked for.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While we believe the crew on-site worked hard, the result was unacceptable and the tree now looks unbalanced and unhealthy. We paid the full amount, but in our opinion, the owner's lack of accountability and unwillingness to provide a resolution make it clear they don't stand by their work. We won't be using them again, and if you care at all about the health or appearance of your trees, we strongly suggest you look elsewhere. read more

I own 2 acres of beautiful old trees, I called Titan because I wanted to prune and shape and lift the trees for health and to maintain the trees along with safety for winter. 2 tree arborists carefully addressed about 11 trees and collaborated with me throughout the process. Tim was a great guy and cares a lot about about the safety of his crew and those passing by while he is in working. He was so kind and cautious for us during the multiple interactions we had today! These guys work so hard and were dangling up giant redwood trees at our school (Chamberlain)! Other people were passing over the cones and not paying attention, I'm sure that distraction can stress these guys out considering how high up they are and how big these tree limbs were when they were being lowered so carefully down! It was pretty cool to watch too, but we had to be a safe distance away! Unfortunately, later in the day they were cutting the trees near the main walkway and some people were annoyed that they had to walk around the long way to get to their car (it takes one minute longer). Titan tree service is a very professional throughout the process from the quote to the trimming of the tree and the billing process. We have two large oak trees, one in our backyard that is close to a sound wall, our garage and house and one on the side of our house that hangs over our neighbors property. They trimmed both trees to our liking, cleaned up more than what they needed to (which they stated to me they like to leave the property better than how they found it) and even moved a family of praying mantis from the trimmed branches to our plants . Highly recommend these pros for your arborist needs. They operate with integrity and don't upsell you work you won't need. I had 2 other companies out to look at an issue and they each said I needed to remove the tree in question (because they wanted the work). Titan came out and said I could definitely work with the tree and save it. This tree is very important for shade, so this was great news to us. They did this and still took the time to answer follow up questions over the phone despite not getting anything out of it, as I need to call a landscaping company to make the suggested alterations. WOW WHAT A GREAT, HONEST COMPANY! My neighbor referred Titan Tree to us, we were concerned that we would have to remove a huge Valley Oak that another company said WE DID NEED to have removed. It wasn't just the cost of removal but we were heartbroken to remove such a magnificent tree. Rob came out (free estimate) and quickly being a professional arborist determined that the tree in fact DID NOT NEED TO BE REMOVED! It only needed to be mulched around the root area. I am so impressed with this company, Rob is fantastic and Donna the office manager is amazing. They arrived when they promised, Removed 2 large trees, ground the stumps down and replanted 2 - 15gal Trident Maples all in 3 hours. They were kind and polite, answered all our questions before they started and left us with instructions on how to care for the 2 new trees. My excellent arborist moved out of state, so this is the first time in six years I have had to find a new tree service. After getting a few consultations and quotes, I felt comfortable enough with Titan to give the company a try. The results were excellent. - Titan was quick to respond to appointment / quote requests; - The consulting arborist, Rob, arrived on time, was friendly and professional, and took the time to answer all of my questions; - On the day of the job, the three-person crew (Dave, Mo, and Dave) arrived within the scheduling window. - They were careful with the plants and lighting installations that I pointed out to them; - They did a thorough job of trimming back dead weight on the tree, but also made sure that it retained its nice, natural look; and - The crew took the time to clean up conscientiously. I requested a review of my large oak tree in the front yard to see if any pruning was necessary before the leaves begin to drop and winter weather kicks in. i.e. trying to be proactive vs. reactive. Historically, I've had my tree cleaned out w/some limbs cut back or out every 2-3 years give or take. I contacted Titan in combination of prior reviews and staffing of certified arborists. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Rob came out. We had great conversation. He further educated me on habits and traits of oak trees.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All said and done, he said there was no need to do any pruning at this time. After just being told "there's always something to prune", I truly appreciated the honesty. They are here for the customer's best interest and not out to just get a buck. In light of a recent review - I also asked hypothetically what the cost might be to prune a tree of this size. The assumption has always been, when the tree grows, the price goes up. The estimated figure provided was less than what I paid three years ago so their pricing is well within reason. I will contact Titan again next year to reassess my tree as again, this is a routine process I choose to stay on top of vs. an insurance claim (or insurance companies now cancelling folks over tree limbs...) I have used Titan before and really liked them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I trusted that they would use their knowledge and experience about the best way to trim trees.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This last estimate however, was perplexing. I had them come out, they gave me a HUGE dollar value to trim 1 largish tree and 5 smaller trees. One thousand dollars! When I balked a bit, magically the price went down to 700. An excellent job trimming my lopsided sycamore that was hanging over my neighbor's parking area. We had a 4" limb come down (fortunately into my yard) at the last wind. Titan trimmed out all the dead and dying wood, opened the crown, cut back the threats to my neighbor's cars, and removed some ugly stubs that had been left by some long-ago butchery. They didn't over-trim to protect from sun scald. They even shredded a very large pile of trimmings that we did yesterday to a tree in the backyard. Price was the lowest of 4 bids I got - one bid was 3 times what Titan charged. This is a great company with people who know and care about trees. Can't recommend highly enough. read more

Titan did a great job of trimming our pepper tree (along with trimming the roots back), removing a small tree, and doing some stump grinding for a tree that fell last winter during the big storm. What I loved about them is that they had a certified arborist come out and give me the estimate. This allowed me to ask all sorts of questions and know that the answers I'd get would be from someone who knows trees. The staff back at their office were friendly and made the process of scheduling the appointment easy. The day they arrived, they were here on time. The crew was professional and very knowledgeable. The guy I spoke with was about ready to get his certification as an arborist. They explained everything they were going to do and made sure to clean up after they were done. Now that they've completed the work, our backyard looks like it has more space. In terms of the estimate, they were a little bit more than the other vendors, but after seeing how they operate, I'm glad we went with Titan. It was well worth the money. read more

Rob Cain came out to do a free estimate on humongous palm trees just a few feet away from my apartment. I arranged an appointment about a week in advance, got a text reminder and he called a half hour before arriving. Prompt and reliable. Rob assured me palms are nothing to be worried about except for their fronds. So impressed with his knowledge and reliability. Unfortunately the trees in question are owned by the city of Sacramento so was unable to hire Titan to do any work. read more

WOW, wow, wow. What an amazing, acrobatic tree removal by Tim and his crew. We had a rare Australian Bunya Bunya Pine Tree that unfortunately had to be removed due to safety issues. It was huge, maybe 100ft tall, with massive 10 pound pine cones that can grow to nearly 20 pounds. The entire tree, leaves, branches and cones are covered with thorns. What a feat! They masterfully and systematically took down our beloved tree with skill, grace and dignity. Amazingly, it was removed within 5 hours. The skill and mastery was unmatched. Long story short, I had a few trees removed and raised with Titan Tree Service a few months back. I won't call out any one and won't reference any particular work order because I know Titan Tree Service knows exactly which work order it is but I will add, it was by luck at the last minute I decided to stop by the site to take a look. Let's just say the trees that were removed initially were not on the work order. Pros -Responsive for the most part especially the admin folks. -Short estimate wait times. -Timeliness. -The Arborist was responsive initially but then stopped responding altogether (con as well), so I ended up having to email and correspond with admin thereafter. -Organized for the most part. -Reasonably priced. Now the tree is growing again. -A smaller tree was to be removed also but it looked like they didn't put any effort and rushed through it (because they removed the wrong trees initially and now behind schedule) and instead ran the tree over with an equipment or some sort because the tree split in all different directions at the trunk. read more

I've been updating my turn of the century house since I've moved in. That means basically new everything, and lots of contractors in and out. They were honestly the easiest to work with by far. Tree work was an exterior issue that was difficult for me to focus on or deal with. Tim was exceptionally knowledgeable and understanding to my changing schedule. I need limbs cut back, trees removed, and trees planted. When the electrical company upped their timeline I need the limbs cut back sooner. Tim came through so I didn't see a delay in the work! They came prepared to do the job of trimming/pruning 2 trees on our property, as well as trimming overhang from 2 of our neighbor's trees and removing a big branch that was leaning heavily on the fence.
