For those with no patience: I'm going to tell you all my reservations about this show, then I will tell you why I fell in love with it. So for my full feelings, you have to get beyond the first couple paragraphs. This show isn't super sophisticated. The plot isn't deep. The humor is clever at times, but not highbrow or sophisticated. The set is basic. The chairs are office chairs. I wasn't even sure I wanted to go, but took the chance. In the beginning, I wasn't sure I would be able to rate five stars because this type of humor is just not my style. BUT. These people win you over. They are contagious. You can tell they are having fun and that they want you to have fun too. These are people who would likely make you laugh out loud in real life and be a great addition to the friend group. They are just happy to be here and have no ulterior motives or delusions of grandeur. The props, and the show, are campy on purpose. And at about an hour and 40 minutes, it's a good length and doesn't drag on. Dee Roscioli, who is still the longest-running Elphaba in Wicked, is a riot as Celine. So dramatic and exaggerated you can't help but laugh out loud. I sat in row D, center, so right in front of the stage, dead center, which in my opinion is the best seat in the house. Dee/Celine came out, hyped up the audiences, high-fived me and the guy across the isle from me. She made jokes that included the audiences. Later, during another number, she came up and bootie rubbed up against me and across-the-isle-guy. Aside from Celine, I thought Joel Waggoner really stole the show as Ruth, Rose's mother. They played Ruth with acidity and profanity. Their improvised melt-down mid-show was the funniest thing I've seen in a while. It may have made me laugh more than the current Broadway darling, Oh, Mary! Marcus Antonio played Tina Turner the iceberg (you read that right) and that was also a ridiculous, unexpected, fun turn. The rest of the cast did a great job as well, had great voices. All of the cast interacted with the audience, particularly those first couple rows. There's a lot of physical humor and ridiculous props (The Unsinkable Molly Brown teaches Rose about the facts of life using an eggplant prop, if you catch my drift). There was a period in the middle that I think must be built for improv, where Celine says she got drunk and can't remember what happened next on the Titanic that night, so she makes it up randomly as she goes along. You could tell the actors playing Jack and Rose weren't expecting what she said to them next during this time, because they burst out laughing multiple times. This slapstick comedy was a ton of fun. Not 100 percent sure the 150 I paid for my seat is the right price range, given how small the theater is, how dirty the seats are, and the fact the seats are office chairs. But I don't regret it, and wouldn't choose any other seat in the house. What a fun evening. Anyone willing to let loose and laugh at the absurd would like this show.

Phenomenal show. Soooo many pop cultural references- there were things my partner and his sister each caught that I missed and vice versa. Just a super fun show, interactive and over the top!! Soooo much fun. Def check them out!! PS they do have wheelchair accessible spots too! We were able to enjoy it!

What can I say? Wow!!!! I'm not a fan of Titanic or Celine Dion but I got us front row seats for this tiny off-Broadway play. No regrets! Just energy, fun, unbelievable over the top performances, interaction with the cast and memories for a lifetime!! Life is great with amazing performance art!!

Titanique is a lampoon of the movie Titanic in which "Celine Dion" reinterprets the tragic sinking of the infamous ocean liner. Highly flamboyant and funny. There's a point in the performance where one of the characters comments to the audience that everyone in attendance is gay. The cast is teeming with talent, including the musicians.

Titanique is probably the most fun I've ever had watching a show. This off-Broadway show had me laughing the entire time. The theater is an old bank converted into a venue. The outside construction is beautiful. The inside is a little less dreamy, but it suits its purpose. I will say, the seats are very comfortable. The cast of this show is outstanding. The talent is extraordinary. I'd see this show every time i was in nyc. It doesn't have an intermission and they warn you about that prior so prepare yourself for that. Do you love the movie, "Titanic"? Do you love Celine Dion music? Do you love inappropriate humor at times? Do you just want to see a show, have a great time, and almost forget you're seeing a musical? Then this is the show for you. You'll laugh, i don't know about cry, but you'll definitely sing along to some Celine.

Such a fun show! Titanique is a parody of the film Titanic, told from Celine Dion's perspective. I spent half the time amazed at the superb singing, and the other half thoroughly entertained and laughing. I'll admit, some jokes went over my head; I didn't catch all the pop culture references. But there are enough jokes, and enough different types of jokes, that you'll have a good time regardless. The only caveat is that due to adult humor, I wouldn't recommend this for kids. Our seats in row G were perfect; great distance from the stage, with plenty of leg room. The Daryl Roth Theater is a smaller venue, so the show feels more intimate. The show's runtime felt just right - 1 hour and 40 minutes with no intermission. I recommend Titanique if you want a different experience to your typical Broadway show.

Throwback, sexy, vintage burlesque type of vibes with a small bar and seating area. It was not busy at all and there was a guy DJ'ing. You would think that a place like this would be able to make most craft cocktails. They did have a small cocktail menu and some written specials but I asked the bartender if he could make me a "Last Word." He looked at me for a moment and seemed confused or unsure and it was a no. Kinda threw me off, and then he handed me the menu. This gave me the implication that he's really only familiar with the ones on the menu. So then we decided to start easy with the beer and tequila shot combo. I asked for them chilled and instead of shaking them he stirred it which ended up taking longer but hey to each their own I guess. We also got a shot of amaro and he didn't seem to know which ones they carried so we had to point out to him which ones we wanted since they were on the wall behind him. Once we got our drinks, he proceeded to eat empanadas right in front of us. I get it, you gotta eat but I don't ever think it's good optics for anyone in service to be eating directly in front of their guests, especially at a very small bar. If anything, you step away and take a few bites and come back. At one point I went to use the bathroom and on my way back to the bar I asked the DJ if he took any requests. He firmly said "NO" and not in like a nice way, I mean we were the only people in the bar so we thought he could possibly play something upon request but it was a hard no. Overall it was a bit of an unusual experience, and for a nice cocktail bar we were disappointed with how things went. I hope that the bartenders learn how to make a last word at some point, it's a pretty popular classic cocktail. ‍

If you walk in expecting a traditional night out, prepare to be lovingly and fabulously corrected. From the moment I entered with a friend, it was clear this place plays by its own, very sparkly rules. The first room was more of a whimsical prelude than a line-up zone: drinks flowing, people mingling like old friends at a costume party, and a gloriously casual pile of pillows where you could recline like a disco-era Roman god. And yes--there was a tarot reader, naturally, because no true evening of hedonistic joy is complete without a stranger telling you your moon energy needs grounding. Once the main room opened, things escalated--in the best way possible. Performers appeared everywhere: on stage, above our heads, behind the crowd--acrobats, dancers, aerialists, all oozing talent, glitter, and just enough danger to keep you watching with your mouth open and your drink clutched tightly. It wasn't just a dance floor--it was a full-blown immersive experience. The music kept the energy up all night: infectious, thumping, and curated to make even the shyest feet consider their moment of main-character glory. The crowd? Pure magic. Full of respectful, expressive, and joyful people, the kind of fellow partygoers you dream about meeting in New York. Everyone was there to dance, to celebrate, to vibe--not to posture or preen. What makes House of Yes so special is that it's not just a nightclub--it's a celebration of freedom in all its forms. Of identity, of movement, of art, of joy. It's campy, chaotic, oddly intimate, and--somehow--profound. In short: if you're craving a space that feels like Studio 54 met a circus in a utopian queer commune, House of Yes is your new church. Bring an open mind, comfortable shoes, and a healthy appreciation for sequins.

The Moth is a storytellers event that occurs at different places, and the one I went to was at Housing Works Bookstore and Cafe, which was the perfect venue. It started at 7:30 and ended at 9:30, there's no drink minimum, you can bring your own food, and tickets are cheap, but hard to get. It's essentially a show where people who'd previously entered their names get picked to tell stories in under five minutes. Anyone can do it, and anything can be said. There were funny ones, sad ones, dramatic ones, silly ones, overall twelve performances along with a host who introduces each one. They also sell drinks and snacks there, which goes to a great cause. Whether you're looking for something New Yorky, cheap, chill, cute, or thought-provoking, The Moth will satisfy.

Going to a Story Slam hosted by The Moth is actually one of my favorite things to do in the city…read more The story slams happen 4-6 times a month at various locations around Manhattan and Brooklyn (see the website for schedule). Each slam has a different theme. If you feel that you have a worthy 5-min story, you can put your name in the bag, where they draw out names. Ten storytellers go up and these stories are judged by three teams of judges from the audience. The winner of the slam goes on to the Quarterly GrandSLAM Championship. It lasts about 2.5 hrs and costs $8. I've gone to a couple of these at the Housing Works and I'm always really impressed by the quality and talent of most of the storytellers. Many of them take this quite seriously and you can tell that they spent time crafting their story and delivery. The best stories aren't the ones that are merely funny, but they're poignant, send you on an emotional roller coaster of highs and lows, and leave you with a message and something to think about. There's a certain raw honesty and catharsis that comes through and the audience is always supportive, especially so for the new storytellers who stand up there alone and vulnerable. Indeed, if the audience feels the judges are too harsh, the audience lets the judges know. At the Story Slam at Housing Works, the doors open at 7 pm (stories start at 7:30). There are limited seats, so if you're dead set on sitting, stand in line by 5:30. There are plenty places to stand and get a good view as Housing Works' second floor is a mezzanine. Recently I got to the line by 6:30 and easily found a comfortable spot to stand and watch (wear comfortable shoes!). The ticket sales of the Story Slam goes directly to The Moth. Housing Works, which is a wonderful organization that helps people with HIV/AIDS, sells alcohol and snacks, so you're giving to a great cause by drinking.

I was paired with a small group of out of town visitors who brought their family to NYC and wanted them to experience the Accomplice. The parents of the family group were repeat guests like myself who like me absolutely enjoyed their experience several years prior and wanted to share it with their family. It's NYC so even when you participate in the live experience it may seem awkward that an actor is making a scene (literally) on the streets of NYC but nobody bats an eye cause weirdness can feel normal on the streets of Manhattan. Accomplice still has the typical tour around the small area of the city where you interact with amazing actors and make your way to the grand finally where you share a simple drink with your group to celebrate your accomplishment. The staff do offer a hotline to get clues if you are stuck but thankfully my group was witty enough to figure out our way through our adventure. Accomplice is also great for corporate team building activities. I've raved about this experience at my office for years and one of my teams decided to book with the show. Not only did my office team have an amazing time but buzz is going around the office about this show that another team was considering booking but business guests thought it would be too cold in November for such an event; such party poopers! This play is about a universal theme of love, sex and relationships. If you are looking for love,…read moreand who isn't, this show will speak to you. For me, everything in this comedic play seemed all too familiar..during the show, I kept on thinking, OMG I think I found bits and pieces of myself in all the women characters...which makes me ask myself, am I crazy?!!!??? I'm okay with that....because MEN ARE A**HOLES. One of the actors when introducing the play in the beginning and after the intermission was making the audience chant..he would say Women are crazy because men are........and the audience, made up of mostly females said......A**HOLES!!!!!!! It felt therapeutic to shout it out loud! I was really getting into it...I looked at my boyfriend and he was making a frowny face. ahahha. I was trying to get him to chant A**HOLES too but he wouldn't bite. He said men are a**holes because they used to be hunters...okay. ahahhahah. That's why I love him! He's my hunter, now go hunt! This play reminds me of the book, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. The play is set at one of the character's home, Nicole is throwing a soiree to celebrate meeting her internet fling for the first time, at this soiree!! Nicole invited her whole entire family to meet this internet fling that she herself never met...WHO DOES THIS??!! Nicole's family consisted of her sister and her BF, her brother and his GF, and her best friend and her BF. There was another couple that were supposed to be at the soiree but never showed up. All these couples are all having dysfunctional relationships, which makes for a funny play. This play takes a look into human nature, human relationships and human behavior. Sometimes the play may seem over the top, overly dramatic and highly passionate to get some laughter from us, but I recognize the characters all to well!! I know people just like the characters on stage in this play. I definitely have seen some of the characteristics even in myself. I felt ashamed at times...but laughed at myself! The comic timing in this show is awesome. My favorite couple is Hillary and George who never even made it to the soiree! I was laughing through the whole show. Even coming back from the intermission was fun! Be forewarned, women are going to be portrayed as psychotic beings, men are going to be portrayed as insensitive liars and we all need each other in unhealthy ways. But at the end it's all for laughs and for fun which this play definitely accomplishes...I would highly recommend this entertaining show for any adult who has been through dating or relationship angsts. This show is definitely Rated R for RAUNCHY! See it if you want to laugh your A** off! Last day of show is June 21, HURRY!
