Reached out to VA State Attorney General's Office to pursue my dispute with Title Boxing Club Loudoun Station located in Ashburn, Virginia, and as per direction from Better Business Bureau. I am seeking a specific resolution which include Title Boxing Club Loudoun Station to refund and credit the amount of $1,215 back to my credit card.
After several email and phone communications between myself and owner of Title Boxing Club Loudoun Station, Joe M******on August 27th and 28th, he responded refund is not an option for personal training packages as per contract. I asked at least three times via email and phone to provide a copy of that contract for my review and depicting the refund policy/terms and condition. To date, I have not received a copy of this contract.
Furthermore, my membership/contract expired on or around September 24th, 2019 and contract was never renewed. After September 24th, 2019, I continued to purchase personal training sessions on an ad-hoc basis and did not sign a separate contract for personal training. I ask the owner to help me understand why a refund is not in scope when there is NOT a contract in place between myself and Title Boxing Club Loudoun Station.
To address this matter, I am asking Attorney General of Virginia Consumer Protection to intervene and support my request to have Title Boxing Club Loudoun Station to refund the amount of $1,215 and credited back to my credit card/checking account.
Potential customers should know there were three other complaints filed against Title Boxing Club Loudoun Station via Better Business Bureau and regarding "contractual issues" as well. If this is the type of business practice that represent Title Boxing Club as a whole, I would never give my business to this entity again.
Please note, the same review has been posted via Google for Title Boxing Club Loudoun Station. Enclosed picture files include email communication between myself, Joe M******, Better Business Bureau and Virginia Attorney State General's Consumer Protection.

VA Attorney State General of Consumer Department continue to engage and involved in email communications between myself and the owner at Title Boxing Club Loudoun Station. Owner confirmed there is not a contract between myself and his business, and therefore his prior claim on a non refundable purchase is invalid. Furthermore, Joe M****** has asked me to remove my reviews posted on Yelp, Google and Better Business Bureau, and in exchange he will process the refund. This is unacceptable, unprofessional and unethical and essentially the owner is holding my funds hostage until I remove the reviews. Please see recent attached screenshots of our email communications.
***Update as of November 28th, 2020***
Plaintiff, Jane Johnson filed paperwork through Small Claims Court and against Defendant, Joe M******, and claim that Defendant owe Plaintiff a debt in the sum of $1,215. Court date and hearing set for December 15, 2020.
***Update as of December 15th, 2020***
Court hearing completed and Judge was in favor of the defendant based on the following:
- Placard on pricing for training sessions with disclaimer with a no refund policy displayed at the front desk at Title Boxing Club Loudoun Station
- Joe M******offered the entire gym to myself for training
- Joe M******'s willingness to refund the amount of $1,215, and in exchange, an agreement to remove my reviews posted on Yelp and Google
Please note, the placard was never displayed at the front desk for customers to review and that was relayed to the Judge.
Second, Joe M****** never made the offer to have the entire gym to myself to work out during the pandemic. Additionally, Joe M****** stated he tried to refund the amount back to my account, but did not have my account number. This is not true as I never received a call or an email from Joe requesting for my account number in order to refund the money and to my account.
Lastly, these reviews will remain in place to inform and educate potential and existing customers on the deceptive business practice at Title Boxing Club Loudoun Station. read more
