Came here as I was visiting near the area with a friend. I usually go to the OneLife in Clinton. I was very surprised on how small and cramped this gym was. I truly hope the members are not paying the same price as we do in Clinton. It feels like it was an old gym that OneLife came and bought. I went midday and it was not crowded. They have all of the machines you would need but about half of the machines look like they were from the 90s. I would come again but I think with many other gyms close by, I would think they need a bigger space and more updated equipment. read more

I pay way too much monthly to come into a one life gym that still has this style of equipment. Maybe because my home gym is for totten but this is ridiculous. This equipment is all older than this gym itself. The gym smells like a sewage drain. I legitimately had to work out with a shirt over my nose and ended my workout early because I couldn't stand it anymore. The layout of the gym is always chaotic as hell. Yes there's a lot of machines, they are all old maybe 10% of what's in here is "new". Studio has no fans, neither does group studio. That makes no sense to me. First time at this location, I unfortunately moved to this area, but I won't be coming back, I'd rather make the 25 minute drive to the Manassas location where is actually clean, and new equipment Editing to add that there is in fact not a single fan in this gym, even the treadmills, don't have a built in fan. The gym itself is always clean, has more equipment than one can possibly use in a month. I've only been to the Thursday morning stretch class, but Stacy, the instructor, is phenomenal. She gives options for people, like me, who cannot sit cross legged, others who cannot reach their toes, some exercises can be done sitting. My strongest 5-star goes to Chloe, the master trainer I worked with for a number of months. She gets to know each person on their individual level and then pushes to go farther. If anyone reading this review is looking for a trainer to help them in their fitness goals, look no further than this woman. read more

I could not be more enthusiastic than to give the highest rating to this excellent gym. Special shout outs to Cat Sloan and Chloe Le. I walked into the gym preparing to walk right out from overwhelming agoraphobia and depression. Cat took me by the hand and listened to my story with the utmost compassion. She showed me around and each staff person was super kind. She then recommended PT with Chloe Le and Chloe couldn't be more excellent. She's patient, kind, thorough and motivating, understanding my back story and physical challenges. She gets my condition (hEDS) and is careful with me. Today is day 58 and while I might have 10s or even hundreds of more days to go, I can truly say they saved my life. Physically I've made a lot of gains but psychologically I have found myself able to let go of past traumas and let the medicine of fitness to heal me. There's no way to truly thank someone for making this kind of difference, but I do feel that I can at least share this magic! Cat, Chloe, and everyone have truly made me think about the value of having one life. Priceless. I would urge you to give them a try if you need a jumpstart and motivation to keep going. This is an awesome gym for me as I am recovering from knee surgery ... I can use the recumbent stationary bike and then graduate to the upright stationary. The stairmaster in low doses (100 steps max) has done wonders for eliminating pain in climbing stairs, probably because the stair height is not so tall as to cause pain - so I can work my stair-climbing muscles without pain in my knees. The hydro-massage table is a plus and it is really helping with my tight hamstring. Facility is very clean - the noisy kids room is gone - I see they have spin class and I will work my way up to that. read more

Started working out in June with a trainer... Grant. Was really out of shape and lacked motivation to go to the gym to get myself in better shape. This is a nice club with a few issues. My chief complaint is that they recently switched to using EverWipe towelettes to be used for wiping down equipment after use. These towelettes run out of moisture before a machine is even half wiped down. They should go back to the former brand they used if they are concerned about keeping the equipment sanitized. The other comment is that some handles in their weight machines are worn out and need replacing. In the positive side the staff is very friendly and there is a decent assortment of exercise equipment. read more

Love this gym! the staff are super friendly and I've only ever had really positive personal training sessions. I really like the huge space towards the group exercise rooms to do deadlifts and stretching, and I'm always a huge fan of a good sauna! Nice place to workout, definitely recommend! read more

Onelife has a stellar selection of equipment, but not enough for its ever increasing amount of members. Seriously, if you want to go anytime between 4:30 pm through 7:30 pm it feels shoulder to shoulder in some sections. The customer experience has been totally ignored for revenue. read more

I really love the classes that OneLife Fitness - Reston has. In particular, Tammy C teaches spinning classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:30. Her music is awesome, but more importantly, she's such a positive person. She encourages you to do YOUR best and not compare yourself to others. She's also safety conscious and provides positive reminders about correct form. I also enjoy Alison's 8:30 am classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. I never write reviews. Well never say never cuz something happened here the other day that has led me to write this one. It was just a simple request but the staff member, without hesitation, and a big, bright, beautiful smile took care of it. That's when I realized that I should "tell the world" about this place. I have been a member here for over 20 years. I took a year and 2 months off due to the pandemic. On my first day back I was showered with pleasant greetings, a showing of genuine concern, and heartwarming welcomes. It made me feel like I was part of a family. That's the thing. The staff is always so nice, so happy, so helpful! They are always in such a great mood, that seeing anyone brings a smile to my face and instantly gives me that energy boost I need to get my workout done. Even the new faces that I see have already taken their place in the family tree and are in such great spirits because they are not just happy, but happy to be THERE! And that's the other thing. The staff isn't being happy cuz they are trying to sell themselves or sell you something, duh, you are already a member! They are genuine in their happiness! They are genuine in their greetings and hellos and everything! It shows a lot about how they are being treated by management and how they genuinely like one another and love what they do AND where they do it! It makes those days when you barely make it in and feel like you just can't do it, bearable! When you walk through that door and all that happy energy hits you, you pep right up, and before you know it the "torture" is over. Depending on when you go I can't think of a better way to start or finish your day...I just know that I love to exercise and I love being a member at THIS gym and I am very lucky and happy to be a part of something so fun! read more

One Life has really declined. I have been a member for over 10 years. There seems to be something wrong with every machine I go on. TV doesn't work, incline doesn't work, controls not working etc... No one is maintaining the equipment. They boast cleanliness and no one is wiping the machines down. They have a roll of paper towels and cleaning spray in a bucket for members which is difficult to inconvenient. The wipes are out most of the time from the dispenser. I am now looking into new gyms since health clubs are looking for new members right now. I understand times are tough right now and my expectations are in check with Covid and the realities. One Life really needs to step up to save members. The staff is friendly but they really need a leader/manager to recognize daily needs especially during Covid and help this gym. read more

It's simple, the business model is premised on consumer misinformation. Granted, the consumer should always read the contract, but when your sales staff misrepresents the terms of the agreement, we have a problem. This is exactly what happened to me, the summer prior to moving away for college I entered an agreement with OneLife. I explained my situation, that I wanted minimal commitment / maximum flexibility because I knew I was moving in a few months. The sales staff assured me of the relocation policy, that one could prove they had moved over 25 miles away, and cancel at anytime. This is the truth, but it is not the whole truth. To effectuate cancelation upon relocation, the member must pay a buyout fee: totaling 3 months of membership fees. Considering I had only anticipated using my membership for no more than 3 months, the sales person clearly guided me toward what was best for his commission, not the customer. To do so, he relied on speaking half truths, knowing full well the implications. I raised this issue with accounting as I attempted to close out my account. Unsurprisingly, they had clearly dealt with this issue over and over again (unsurprising after reading the reviews bellow). They know it leads to consumer confusion, but refuse to do anything because that is how they profit. read more

I started to use them gym because It's closer to work. my friends and family go here so I figured I would give it a shot. I love it ! They love it too! the front staff is always so friendly and that makes such a difference when you see happy staff. The trainers are nice and friendly and definitely are NOT in your way or pushy. Can't believe how big a difference OneLife Reston has made in the way I feel and move. The other day, I looked down as I was walking in skinny pants and heels, and it was like seeing myself a decade ago. I had literally forgotten how good it feels and how much less effort it takes to move through the world this way. Could not have done it without my awesome trainer, and the rest of the OneLife staff. The welcoming team and variety of equipment has kept me interested enough to keep going. Not giving up and improving over time is KEY to getting results. I have been going to Onelife for about 3 years now and I really love this gym. It's clean, well-equipped and staff are very friendly. I recently started working with one of the personal trainers here, Jeremiah Smith and it has been one of the best decision I've made. I have had trainers in the past but what sets Jeremiah apart is the fact that he really takes pride in what he does. He listens to what your needs are and pushes you towards your goal. At $40 per month, I expect to get what I sign up for. My complaint is the personal training, and the state of the Reston facility. When Patrick, a general manager at the Reston facility, explained the personal fitness training to me, he made it seem like a one time fee of around $500. Looking back at it now, I should have known, but the way he worded it, I thought wow, for three months, that's a great deal. He randomly chose a trainer for me, Chloe. At first it started out well, but our schedules did not align. I work a traditional 8am-6pm, Monday through Friday. She's only available 5am-2pm, Sunday through Thursday. I much prefer to work out after work, not before, and having a Saturday available would have been great. Along with not making the price clear, Patrick did not make her schedule clear. And then Chloe did not offer me any other options. Although the workouts were good, they were not worth nearly $1,500. Also, she was supposed to email me "homework" assignments, I only got one. Granted, I did not voice that I only got one homework assignment, but at the price I paid, I don't think I needed to. read more

We started going to this gym a few months after the onset of the pandemic. The gym is great for the price! We especially enjoyed the people. Every time we left, someone would say goodbye, often followed by our individual names. By far, they have the best customer service. A couple of months after joining the gym, we started using Zone4. We enjoyed the experience in Zone4 and thought the price was excellent for what you get. Over the several months, we only came across one issue with a class being booked. My wife and I were looking for a gym that wasn't ridiculously packed. We had 24hour fitness but they went bankrupt. That's what they get for charging membership fees even though they shut down due to Covid19. When we came in we were greeted by Katie and she did an awesome job showing us around and explaining the precautions they are taking during the pandemic. Now that's a lesson in listening to your customers and delivering results. Well done gents!! And thank you!! I have waited all day to cool off before I penned this update on Fitness One. As many of you may have read in months passed, I have been both critical and complimentary of the Fitness One (formerly Reston Sport and Health). I had my differences with the former manager but he heard me out and made changes. The one issue that persists is the mix of equipment in the gym. Recently, many have shared my frustration of having to wait for an upright stationary bike. There are five regular upright stationary bikes and double that amount of spin cycles. The latter see little to no use. We have repeatedly asked for additional bicycles and been promised that new equipment is coming. Today was the end of the rope for me. Mind you, the staff is great. They try hard to help. Even the new manager Chris is trying hard and means well. But if the corporate SVP and leadership don't support the local team and act on the needs unique to the needs of the members of this club, you are sure to fail. Here is message for corporate-"one size does not fit all". Do yourselves a favor and give the manager to ability to make decisions locally. He and his team know the club and its members. Let them do their jobs! They do it well and you are hindering excellence! read more

Perfectly fine gym and all that, but watch out for management. The General Manager, Chris, is a shady motherf*****. He gave me completely false information. He told me just to send an email to member services to cancel my membership. They then informed me that I would need to pay $119.97 as a buyout fee if I wanted to be released from my membership. I told them that I had spoken to the General Manager, and they didn't seem to understand why he would have given me that information. I went back to complain to Chris, and he refused to take any responsibility. He just muttered dumbly that member services dealt with all of that and I would need to take it up with them. They said they spoke to him and that the policy would stand. So now I'm out $120 if I want to get away from this gym, despite Covid, and despite no longer working down the street from the gym that I joined out of convenience. The salespeople are nice when you join, but just read your contract very carefully, and remember that the General Manager is a nimrod, and won't be any help with any issues that come up. read more

I've been a Sport & Health member on and off, but mostly on, since 1995. They just re-branded the Reston location and that is my home club. I love it. This gym has everything I need in a nice open layout. I'm here almost every day and rarely have any issue using what I want, when I want it. I like that members are friendly but no one bugs me. Staff is helpful. Great instructors for body pump , zumba and yoga. My only complaint is when I've had to deal with any billing issue. The HQ has been less than a positive experience, but that was a few years ago. The biggest compliment I have goes to the young ladies in the kids club. They are the reason my kid loves to come to the gym! (Which is why I can workout and stay sane!). They treat him as I would expect a private sitter to treat him, happily, respectfully and with enthusiasm for what they do. (Give 'em a raise!) read more

The CUSTOMER SERVICE for this gym is the worst you could ever face. They require you to put a notice 2 months in advance. How do you foresee something 2 months in advance ?? So no Matter what emergency you have e.g relocating, leaving the country they will still suck on your money for the following consecutive 2 months after cancellation without any consideration and no refunds. Gold gym has a way better customer service than this gym. Please take this into consideration and if any questions feel free to personally ask me as I am having a really bad experience here where I wanted to cancel yet I am being charged for the next 2 months irrespective of my personal conditions!!! Proof : Here is what I hear from the customer service when I asked them to cancel my membership on January 6th 2017. "Your email and account have been reviewed by our supervisor and, unfortunately, we are not able to make an exception to our cancellation policy. We must hold to our policy in order to remain fair to all of our members. Your membership will cancel effective 03/01/2017 and February will be your final bill. This is the final decision." So I ask for cancellation on 1/6/2017 and my cancellation will be effective from 03/01/2017 !! read more

gym was alright. needed to cancel mine and my husbands membership because we simply just didn't utilize it enough. sent it a request and never heard back. finally called the reston location and spoke with the assistant general manager. she assured me that June would be the last month we would be paying for but come to find out we have been charged for July. we were never told that we would have to buy out our membership so that's an extra $120 on top of being charged for a month that I was assured I would not be charged for. WORST experience trying to cancel a gym membership I have EVER experienced. waiting to see if a refund for July is possible but I am not optimistic. read more

If you want a Ferrari-type facility, pay three times as much and join Lifetime. People will always bitch about the music or this or that, but this is the best gym in town. Trust me. I was hoping to join this gym but got so disappointed with their fee structure. The sales rep. and staff is all good and nice people, but at the end of the day you are just working out by breaking your bank. The admission fee is close to $150, one adult membership is $39.95, and $40 for an annual maintenance fee. They will also charge you $5.00 for using their multiple locations. So the math for you is for the first year you would be paying $60.78/month if you add up all those fees above. No, thank you..... I am replying to the owner's reply. Please visit their facility, they will tell you a bunch of fees and the ONLY incentive they gave me is that they would pay my last month membership at the other gym. That is it!
