After a trial and error not liking the Back Bay location, I started taking classes here. First, through Class pass, and then I paid for a membership. Although I've been a member of CKO and Ilovekickboxing in the past, this Title location has quickly my favorite work out studio! Firstly, it is spacious and even on weekends or rush hour, you're never bumping into other members bags. The instructors are mostly amazing, each with their own style and personality. They pay keen attention to students and are encouraging! The class schedule is flexible and offers a lot, but I do wish there were 60 minutes/75 minute classes more than once a week like they offer at other locations. Overall, sad that I had to move out of the area, or else I would've loved to have continued here. Truly a kick a*** workout studio! read more

Only giving it two stars because they do allow you to try first class for free. I became rumble addict while in vacation in FL, so when I came back to Boston started looking for boxing places nearby and was super excited to find Title (10 min walk for me). Class as nothing but disappointing. 1. Music choices not motivating 2. Instructor never greeted me as a newbie, nor he came by to make sure I was still alive in my little corner 3. Intensity and energy for a boxing class just was not there. 4. Class attendees ranged from 20smths to 40s+. That was actually nice to see an age diverse crowd. Here is the punch line tho - place is so dirty! The minute you walk in you inhale smell of feet and sweat. Have they heard of air purifiers?! Some people were not wearing shoes during the class, then you lay on the ground to do abs. Let me spare you the detail but it's not great. Also, NO ONE cleaned their weights or bags or space afterwards. I made a rookie mistake and forgot my gloves (only brought my wraps). God those gloves were so gross. My hands stunk for at least a few hours after even with 3 washes and two sprays of sanitizer. At rumble you can rent gloves too but they sanitize them! Honestly so gross! Unreal that post Covid this place was not shut down for lack of sanitation measures! read more

I've been a member of Title Boxing Club for a year now and I was a huge fan up until today. Before this, I attended class 4 times a week with either Ian or Brooke and loved every class I went to. I told everyone I knew about the club and posted on social media all the time about it as well. To be clear, everything I've written below is not because I'm upset about the money--that is quite honestly the least of the concerns. I'm extremely bothered by the way I was treated by Ryan Bishop. However, since Covid hit, the TBC team has been nothing short of a nightmare. To not adjust your previous rules and regulations while we are facing a global pandemic is ridiculous. I feel unsafe returning to the club because I have high risk people in my family, I shouldn't have to be continuously charged just because of a contract that was created before this state of the world. I paused my membership for a few months because I personally cannot return anytime soon because of the pandemic. This was fine. But they let me know it would be unpaused in September so I called, left voicemails, and used the contact us form on their site(I had no email for them) since July of this year trying to reach them about cancelling. No one has responded to me. Today I was charged the full monthly fee so I called again--no response. I left a voicemail. Finally I reached out to their Instagram account and received the owner's email address and I sent him a very kind email. He responded with an email which I have attached below, telling me I have never contacted the club--so essentially, the owner of the club told me, a paying loyal customer that I was lying. I called the club again and he answered. As I talked very kindly to him, he spoke and raised his voice over me. I said I had tried contacting them for months to which he replied "absolutely not". At one point while I was speaking he started saying "nope. no. no. I don't think so" over me. The only time he acted somewhat kind was when I said whatever I'll pay half the remaining 3 months. I have never been treated this way by someone in a customer service position and I now will NEVER be returning back to TBC. I'm paying half of the last 3 months owed on my membership because I don't have a choice but will not be attending the classes for any of that time. I will also tell everyone I know to never sign up. The place only cares about money and there are much better boxing studios with people who are kind and care. I'm shocked by what happened today. read more

I've been here once and loved the atmosphere. The class was intense and a lot of fun - you'll definitely be sweating in the first 10 minutes. If you're brand new, the front desk is great about helping you get set up. There are tons of bags which means you won't get much personal attention, but if you already know what you're doing or you're just in it for the cardio, it's a great experience. I didn't like that they didn't offer many alternatives for the kicks, as many people can't or don't kick, but I've heard that some of the other instructors do provide modifications. If you don't have a membership they will really get on your case about purchasing one before you leave. read more

First of all, I love the classes! Even though I don't have an opportunity to go to the same instructors every week, all of them seem professional and know what to do. So, no complaints there. But their customer service is the reason I stopped going to that particular location. When I came in there for the first time, I was talking to one of the receptionist girls, she was nice and friendly and explain how membership works and all this stuff. I mentioned to her that I've taken boxing classes before, maybe that was the reason she omitted that they offer first class for free or you can try the first class free of charge. I found out about that from Assembly Row location. So good job, guys! It's not a big deal now, I'm still a member, but wouldn't hurt to test it before you pay for it, right? Then it goes better. At some point my card had expired and eventually they charged me a late fee of $25. I called them and ask why they didn't send me any sort of notification but charged right away. A girl on the phone claimed she did. Turned out when I signed up someone, and I don't know who was that person who couldn't type my email from the form I filled in to their database, misspelled it, so I never received their emails. I was there for my class, and decided to talk about it with them in person. I explained the situation to another receptionist girl, but she just brushed me off, saying something like 'Well, it's the right one now, so what are you complaining about?' If you feel it's fair, sure, keep my money. I signed up for a year membership with them as it was cheaper than paying month to month, so I can't just walk away. I'm glad I can go to a different location at least, where I don't get that attitude. But I doubt I'll renew my membership after my contract is over. read more

Customer service kills this place! I had an injury that prevented me from continuing boxing. I put my membership on hold indefinitely for medical reasons and it came off without my notice charging multiple months. I then contacted the club and asked for a back bill for my injury. The manager, Cam, is completely unresponsive! I now have a collections agency chasing me for something that could have been easily stopped by the club. read more

I had tried Title before for a free class and decided not to join at the time because the membership was pricey. I later joined because of an email Black Friday "offer" I received. Long story short, 3 months later I wanted to cancel my membership for a number of reasons and they did not honor the deposit I put down initially. The deposit was to pay first and last month. To echo others comments below, they really just care about collecting as much money as possible. I had called several times and was put on hold and finally got in touch with the manager via email. Title isn't concerned with keeping members but rather making sure they can get as much money from them. I would recommend looking at other clubs in the area. ***In response to Title: My issue is that I am not getting credit for the last month paid in advance at all! I understand that I am being billed another month for not falling under the 30 day window. However, why is my membership not extending for the month I am being charged + the final month I already paid? My point is that you make it very difficult for the consumer to benefit from the offer. read more

I booked this class on the MINDBODY app because it said it was free. I got to this location & the front desk lady asked have you been before. I said yes I went last week to your other location. The lady at the desk the proceeded to tell me that since I already took a class I would have to pay $35. I told her that the app said free, but she still said I had to pay $35 that the app was wrong. Also to add she was not friendly. She did not consider the fact that I had to commute all the way to class & pay for parking on top of it. I believe Title 1 needs to fix this mistake so no other customer has to go through this hassle. read more

This gym is awful. I was a member happily for several months, until the gym started not following rules. For example, one day I came into the gym and there was a sign that said "No Doubling Up on Bags. One person per bag." I look to my left, and there are people doubled-up on a bag. I contacted management, because 1/2 of the people were getting in my way, which effected my boxing, and he did nothing, even though I pointed to the paper which stated the rules. In addition, when I joined the gym, I was assured that I do not need to learn how to wrap my hands myself, and that there would always be someone available to wrap them for me. One day I came in (my last time at this gym), and I was 5-minutes late, which is well in the range of permitted tardiness. Anyway, I did not know how to wrap my hands, and there was no one in the gym other than the manager, Rod, who was doing a personal training session, and the teacher of the class. I was just standing there, and eventually Rod noticed that I was not boxing, so he asked me why. I said I need help wrapping my hands, so he told me to come to him. I went over to him and I kid you not, no exaggerating here, he YELLED at me in front of his training client and berated me asking why I do not know how to wrap my hands. This was mortifying and awful mistreatment, especially considering that I was assured that I would not need to learn how to wrap my hands, and that there would always be people available to help me. I told him calmly that I will not be coming back to the gym, then and there, and that I find the fact that he was yelling at me to be extremely inappropriate. That was my last day at that gym. Why would I pay to be treated poorly? Just the other day, I heard another story about how awful Rod is. Two friends walked into the gym together wanting to join the club. The first girl goes up to Rod and says that she wants to join the club. She got the standard rate of whatever it is $150 or $120. The next girl goes up and tells Rod the same thing, but he says that it will cost her $300. THe first girl says, "but you just charged me $150. Why is it $300 for my friend?" All Rod said in reply was "it's $300." After this, a company that would pay Title to have all of its colleagues attend several classes a month at the gym, stopped going, because the girl who got charged $300 was friendly with that company and told them what happened. If Rod gets moved to another studio I would gladly join again. It seems that Rod is losing the gym many clients due to his attitude problem. read more

I've been working out at Title for about a month. It's an awesome workout and you'll definite sweat your ass off. The staff is super friendly and the trainers are great. My only qualm with the gym is that the workout structure can get monotonous. It's a 15 minute warm up (basically plyos to get your heart rate up) followed by 8 x 3 minute rounds of bag work and finished with 15 minutes of abs. The gym just isn't set up to allow for running, weights, or circuit work. Overall, it's a great workout to throw in your routine 2-3 times a week, but definitely not an everyday. read more

I actually love the classes and everything and coach was very great, been there almost 3 times, but one thing that stopped me from going to this location is that the front desk girls were so mean, and were not helpful at all, the service is just so bad, I would never go back again, otherwise the other locations staffs were very nice, but the north. Love Title! I started over at Newbury Park in CA during break, and was really excited to hear that they were opening a location in Boston. I've been a member since it opened in March 2015, and they've come a long way (adding bags, having events, etc.). All the trainers are fantastic, it's a great workout that kicks your butt no matter how in shape you are, the personal training is really effective and truly helps you meet your goals. I discovered Title through Classpass. I usually come once week a week to get my butt kicked and to mix it up with my workouts. The classes are fun, motivating, and energetic! I like how they break it up between the warm up, boxing drills, HITT exercises (burpies, jump squats), and core work. By the way, the ab portion is so good, it hurts. The only downside is that sometimes it can be difficult to hear the instructor with the loud music and sounds of punching bags..For the most part the facility is pretty clean! There are showers, although I've never used them. I know it can be kind of intimidating to try boxing, but give it a try! I was nervous at first, but now I look forward to it! Its a big stress relief for me! I would attend more often if Classpass didn't limit me to 3 studio visits per billing cycle! read more

Love the north station team. Although the workout is broken down into 3 basic parts, I always get a solid workout and through the core and the warm up, slightly different workouts. Rachel is a great trainer, and has an abundant amount of energy for 5:30AM. I would say it's a bit pricey, but getting a workout with good results is worth paying for. read more

I must admit I was terrified to try out boxing but am so glad I did. From the moment I walked into the North End location, I felt welcomed and motivated. The staff is so friendly and took such great care of me! The workouts are intense and there is a great deal to learn, but there isn't a sense of pressure or worry that people are judging you. So far, I've only worked out with Ian, the head trainer and love his classes. He's professional, attentive and makes you want to give it your best. I had some concerns after reading some of the review, but I've been told the management has changed completely and from what I've experienced, things seem to be running smoothly. It's been so difficult to find a place for quality workouts in a comfortable, welcoming environment, but I think I've found one! I found Title through ClassPass about 2 years ago. I'm not athletic and truthfully don't really enjoy exercising, but wanted to find something I enjoyed to improve my overall health. I went to a class and liked what they were teaching but didn't find myself gelling with the instructor. I decided to give it another chance and went to one of Jared's classes. I am so glad I went back - I enjoyed the class so much that I signed up for a membership that day. The Newbury St location is closer to my work, but I went to this location for almost two years (also in the opposite direction of my home) because everyone from the front desk staff to the trainers were so amazing! The classes were great and the trainers always pushed you to do your best. They are also great about developing skills, which is why I think I really got into boxing. It wasn't just some aerobics class - they focused a lot on technique as well. In addition to the classes, I did PT with Ian. I have had other personal trainers in the past who only seemed to only want to take your money. This was not the case at all with Ian - he was really invested in my progress and tried to teach me how to do workouts independently. I really appreciated that. I sadly am moving out of Boston so had to end my membership, but will definitely be coming back for a class the next time I'm in Boston! After a drawn out 6 months of figuring out how to remain a member with Title, following an event that led me to want to leave the club, the owner and I tried to come to some terms and find a membership and price that worked out for the both of us. Unfortunately, the end result was distasteful and completely unprofessional. Great classes and awesome trainers! I've been a member for almost a year now, although it took me awhile to get used to the workout since I was a couch potato all my life lol. Everyone at TBC North Station is welcoming, knowledgeable, professional and fun to be around! Ian's classes are the toughest but quite rewarding. I gained so much stamina and muscle mass; also lost 20 pounds! I take personal training sessions with Jared, and he is the best! My body got so toned, especially my abs and booty. His core and leg workout is brutal, I am literally sore everyday. Thanks for changing my life, TBC! You guys rock! read more

I've been going to class three days a week for a month and am in the best shape I've been in since high school. The entire staff is really nice and always willing to help. The trainers are extremely motivating and encouraging. The classes are intense, but really fun too. It can be though to get up and go to class at 5:30AM, but I always walk away feeling great about myself and looking forward to the next class. They have classes well into the evening hours but I prefer going first thing. The energy these classes give you for the day is incredible. In just one month, I've seen a significant change in my appearance and a positive change to my personal and professional life. I signed up for a year and can't wait to see where I'm at 11 months from now. Yes, it's expensive, but make an investment in yourself and sign up. You definitely will not be disappointed! read more

I was a member for about 3 years. It started out great, but in the last year there has been a lot of turnover with instructors which has changed the overall environment, even with instructors who have been coaching since the club opened. Where I used to feel comfortable, I now have had multiple issues with comments that felt overly sexual ("get your ass moving" as a class instruction) and inappropriate touching. When confronted, there was a minimum of remorse. If you don't mind that sort of thing, it's a great workout, though! read more

First of all, this workout was absolutely amazing and the instructor was great - super helpful, hands on instruction, and made sure we were doing the moves correctly. However, our experience when we walked in the door was absurd. The class started at 11am, and the email confirmation says to get there 15 minutes early if its your first time. We got there at 10:50 and instead of being greeted with a "good morning," the person at the front desk goes, "you're late, I shouldn't let you in," in a scolding and unfriendly manner. I had signed up for a free trial class, putting in my home address (which was out of state) but the website had given me a code and I signed up for a free trial at this location. After scolding us for being late (the class had still not started and there was plenty of empty bags), we gave our names and my cousin (who lives in Boston) said it was our first time and I was visiting so needed to buy wraps and get free gloves. The woman at the front desk then proceeded to explain that free trials were only for people who lived in the area and that I would need to pay the $35 first class fee. My cousin and I were pretty confused since I had done everything online properly. I had given my real home out of state address, and had still been able to sign up for this class using my free trial code - there was no mention online at any point in signing up that the free trial could only be used for local people, and since the website let me sign up, I didn't think twice about it being an issue since they advertise a free trial class. I had also gotten a confirmation of my free trial from the North Station Title Boxing Club - so it really made no sense that after all that, this woman was telling me I had to either pay $35 or leave. She stood at the desk arguing with me and my cousin for a solid 7 minutes. Finally my cousin told her this was awful customer service, we had signed up online, and my cousin had even called the club earlier in the week to ask about the free trial classes. With 2 minutes before the class started, she agreed to let us box, but said we were too late to put our stuff in the lockers. Again, it was absurd - she had argued with us for more than 5 minutes about taking a free trial class - and then blamed us for how late we were getting our hands wrapped. All in all, it was an appalling first time customer experience. From being told the moment we walked in that we were late and shouldn't be allowed, to having her argue about something that we had figured out and done online with no hassle, to then again scolding us for starting late. While the class was an awesome workout with a friendly instructor, the front desk assistant manager could not have been ruder or put a worse taste in our mouths. My cousin and I came away not able to believe how much we were yelled at as first time customers to this boxing club. read more

TBC North Station is the best! I started working out here in May 2019 and I cannot believe that I lived two blocks from this gem for years and never tested it out before. The workout is so fun and whether you take the 45, 60, or 75 minute class you will leave feeling exhausted and empowered (if you've done it right). Show up to work and you will be rewarded. The front desk staff (shout out to Abby) and all the teachers are super welcoming and motivating. Their passion for this workout and sharing it with others is palpable. You must join and take advantage of the free personal training session. One-on-one training (even in just that free session) will make the class so much more effective. You will learn to hit the bag with better form and more purpose to maximize results. Admittedly, after that one free session with Ian (the head trainer), I drank the kool-aid and bought a PT package. However, it's been worth every penny to me and I will continue PT. Like I said, one session helps you understand better form for the classes, regular PT is about development, strength building, and never getting comfortable (which to me are important general life skills). The more PT I take, the harder the classes feel, the more I get out of them. BUT even if you don't go the PT route, the classes are amazing and a super fun workout. Anyway, I felt compelled to write this review because there aren't many recent write-ups and I want to assure people that negative experiences from two years ago won't be repeated. I'd be shocked. I have had NO unpleasant experiences with the staff at this gym. Just the opposite. I'm partial to Ian and Abby because they were the first people that I met when I walked in the gym. However, all the teachers are awesome and have a unique style so come to the gym and find what you like! You will not regret it. Because all of life is not sunshine and roses, if I had to eye roll about something here, it would be that renting gloves (after your first class) is $15 which admittedly does seem like a lot. However, when I really think about it, people, we are sweating profusely in those things. Bring your own damn gloves. The thought of sharing them? Ew. read more

I love this place! I'm a huge fan of boxing classes and have taken a bunch and this might be my favorite. On Saturdays they have a Box 75 class that lasts 75 minutes and it is like the best workout ever. You start off with a 15 minute warm up doing body weight exercises. Afterwards, you put on your gloves (I think you have to bring your own or buy theirs) and start the boxing portion of the class. There are a bunch of rounds, each is 3 minutes long, and the instructor will give you a combination at the beginning. Usually halfway through you will switch to south paw and repeat the same combination so that you get an equal workout on both sides of the body. Towards the end of class, you grab a medicine ball and do a bunch of core exercises. I definitely recommend trying a class here, even if you've never boxed before (the instructor goes around and helps the people that look confused by the combinations.) The only con is parking is like not a thing here. There's on street parking but be prepared to drive around forever looking for a spot, especially if you don't have a North End resident parking sticker. It is right near the Orange line though, so you could always take the T. read more

To be honest these people only want your money! They do not care at all for their clients. Instead, they lie to you and charge you when they are not supposed to and then they say they can't return the money. It happened to me and 3 others!! To be honest I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here because they will not treat you right. I had the worst experience and it is impossible I will ever come back or tell my friends to join.
