I like their style and that sort of athletic/casual wear in general. But I don't buy their brand very often because, like others in the genre, it doesn't often fit me as most don't have petite sizing. A couple of brands (Toad and CO) do fit, though not petite specific, just flexible in shaping, so I usually just get them where I can. And this store has a good selection of theirs in addition to their own brand. But I saw dress on their internet site and the next day, I saw it on a woman about my age and size shopping at Whole Foods, and it fit her well so I called the store. It was on sale but the color I wanted was internet only but they assured me they had another color of the same dress in stock in the store so I could try it . I hustled down to try it on. I didn't like that color but the fit was great so I ordered the other while I was there as that waives any shipping charges. When it arrived I did like the color but it was a very different construction and fit, though obviously similar, dress. I could not wear it so I went back down to return it. Apparently my color was last season's release and the dress had been redesigned for this season. This staff was aware and would have warned me though she admitted not all the staff would have known that. Too bad, it would have saved me two trips with paid parking. So, ask lots of questions first. I do still like their items, the store is packed with merchandise but if you are difficult to fit or please, be sure you are aware. The return was easy, very quick and pleasant. And I do wish the staff was more uniformly consistent in training in a place where there is often only one or two on duty to question. read more

I like their catalog and the things they sell, but I don't get why the customer service in this store is so terrible. I have been in a few times over the years and I have never been greeted, no one asks me if I want any help. I have to try on clothes before I buy them, especially when they are this expensive, so I go back, thinking things might have changed. read more

I live in Denver, but try to shop at Title Nine whenever I'm in Boulder. Love their selection - I usually find too many things so have to choose carefully. The best thing I bought this year was a swimsuit - bought a bikini top and little board shorts. On vacation, I boogie boarded for a week and the bikini stop was solid - it never moved! read more

I wanted to support this store but the quality of what they sell is truly bad. I bought a few things from them: they all looked good at first but then, after wearing them once or twice, and washing them, they look awful. The picture here illustrates my experience. I went back twice to let them know that what they are selling is honestly crap. They are not very friendly when it comes to return or exchange. The first time, about one year ago, they reluctantly gave me a refund. Today I went again (granted: I had no receipt and the purchase was done a year ago--I had been out of the country--and the two women there did not even consider apologizing for the crap they sell. And, considering they are boasting about women being included in sports given they're name, check out their catalog - there isn't ONE woman who isn't thin and good looking - and obviously rich with their kayaks, big trucks and Title 9 clothing. I splurge on the skorts cause they're hard to find in cute prints, but it's the only thing I buy there. And even that's kind of involved cause if you aren't going to be running around in a bathing suit top (think skin exposure for starters) they don't have tops that match the skorts so I need to find that in other stores.... which I don't mind since it's much less expansive but it's another step. read more

I'm not a catalog shopper, but the Title Nine catalog certainly tempts me. But silly me didn't realize that this small store and the catalog are one and the same. The shopgirls there are helpful, attentive, with a casualness that exudes Boulder style "no worries" attitude that welcomed me to shop and shop. They helped me try on many items, then because an item was not my color, order it to be delivered to my house. Decent sale prices. I just had a wonderful experience at the Title Nine store in Boulder. I went in with two bras I'd purchased from the catalog, and which didn't fit me properly. After I explained the problem, one of the sales women explained how the bras should fit and offered to help me find one. She selected several for me to try and then examined each as I tried it on and explained why it was/wasn't right for me. (It turns out I needed a way smaller bra than the ones I was selecting.) While I was looking at bras I also browsed around the store (they were having a sale) and found two tops I liked that were 30% off. The staff were very very helpful without being pushy, and there was no problem at all doing a return from their sister catalog Bounce. Special thanks to Annie, who helped me with the bras. Title Nine can be pricey, but their merchandise and customer service are superior, and sales are always sweet. I only wish I lived closer to one of their brick-and-mortar stores. read more

Went in to shop for a swim suit today and was extremely disappointed. I've been a HUGE catalog fan for over a decade and expected to find that same no-nonsense, fun helpful presence at the store. Not! No hello, no smiles, no HELP!!!! I was never asked once if I needed assistance during the 50 + minutes of trying suits on so I was shuffling back and forth from dressing room to racks (of course having to completely re-dress each time). When I did ask for help I got the clear impression I was interrupting the staff from their activities-- re-stocking etc. not helping folks in the store. With regards to inventory it was nearly comical how I could not find two smalls or two mediums in any tank/bikini set. Lots of XL or XS. This is the beginning of May in Colorado, I'd think swim wear would be at full inventory. I finally found a top and decided I'd get the bottom online along with a shirt. I wanted at the register for about 5 or 6 minutes -- two ppl working there and no one else shopping in the store! I went to the back and asked for assistance and was given a curt response that she was getting something for a customer. As fas as I could see i was the only customer in the store!!! It was crazy. I actually waited another minute, maybe 2? Still no help. Just as I walked out, one of the two sales ppl came out. Did she apologize for the wait, the lack of service, anything? No, she just smirked at me as I left. WOWWOW. DOn't waist your time. Shop online or another retail shop. read more

Most frustrating catalog company ever. I am a potential good customer for Title Nine. Their clothes are adorable and when I get their catalog there are always several things I want. The 2 stars is because over the years I have TRIED to be a customer 90% of the time, they do not have anything in stock. I am writing this review after wasting over 30 minutes on line trying to shop for an upcoming hiking vacation and out of the 10 items I tried to purchase, only 1 was in stock in the size and color I was interested in. Several years ago I wrote to their Customer Service department complaining of this very issue. I see they have not really found a way to manage their inventory well. At the end of the transaction just as I was about to buy the one item they did have, they don't take American Express. It's 2012. Who doesn't take American Express? Athleta, here I come... read more

I've been in twice in the last 6 months and have nothing but good things to say. I love their catalog, but I have to try things on as I'm in my forties and not quite as fit as I was a decade ago. I ran in last fall for a "work to workout" bra and bathing suit. I didn't have anything in particular in mind and the woman who helped me brought multiple options. I was in an out in less than an hour with a bra and swim suit in hand! Yesterday I had went in with nothing in particular in mind, but a couple of gift cards burning a whole in my pocket. I spoke with Jenny, explaining my body type, and the colors and prints that I'm drawn to. I picked out a few item and headed to the dressing room. She brought me an additional dozen items to try. Title Nine is based in Berkeley, CA where I went to college and lived for 10 years. It's a women run and women inspired workout clothing company that has realistic sizing with comfort in mind. Whether you are size 00 or size 16 you will find a sports bra, pants that don't ride up, etc. They have something for a wide range of sports, from tennis, triathalon, cross-training etc. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for clothing that will fit your outdoor or indoor sports lifestyle. read more

I was first introduced to Title Nine through their catalog many years ago. I love that this is a company for woman by women based out of the United States. I have been into the Boulder store several times and always find the staff to be helpful and friendly. It is very important for me to find good, well fitted sports bars as I like to do a lot of running. I have found it is best to ask the staff to fit me and to describe what I am looking for in a bra. They alway find me just what I am looking for. I also love their wide selection of dresses that can go from outdoors to work easily. I am a real fan of his company. read more

These are great clothes for active women. Good quality, good fit, and their catalogs have a fun, funky vibe to them. I like that they are generally stylish without crossing over into trendy too much. I would say that they carry lots of basics that you can use for years, and then a few of the "in" styles and fabrics for that year. After getting a babysitter for my 3 kids, I drove to Boulder and took 15 minutes to find a parking spot and pay for it. Then spent an hour in the store and bought 5 things. At this point, I really needed to use the restroom before heading home and asked to use the one at the store. I was told it is not available to the public. I will never, ever buy from Title Nine again. Title Nine needs to learn that athletic people that like to buy their clothes and make special efforts to come to their store sometimes need to use the restroom. Even the priciest boutiques on Pearl street have never hesitated to let me use their restroom as a customer. I am telling all my friends and the 500 members of my mothers group about my experience.
