By far the best snowboard shop in Boulder... I was just about to go into a long rant about…read moresnowboard tune ups and bindings - then I was temporarily distracted by some guy name Joe's long rant on a bizarre credit card sale rant... And I've got to say ( after a long laborious career in retail) - no shop would or should ever take a card number like that over the phone. It's completely illegal and sounds like a major scam for some CU kid to call with a credit card and get a free set up. Moving on.. Back to my bindings. I recently took in my board for a wax and tune up to the dudes at Satellite, and Raul, one of the owners was cool enough to look at my stance after we started talking about our mutual knee and ankle issues. Getting old and still shredding is tough on the body. Raul suggested that after years of riding a really wide duck stance, I should narrow it significantly to reduce the pressure off my outer knees, and also centered my bindings better to make riding over all easier. I've got to say, after riding a bunch of days last week, I was feeling pretty good, and not noticing that same old pain. That's what comes from years of experience and coaching- and buying our products from a shop whose owners actually ride. That's the difference between just buying stuff online without trying it and having it set up properly. Support your local shop and go in and say hi. They want to keep people snowboarding in Colorado and are working hard to do so. Oh, and that dude Aaron with the crazy looking beard is usually pretty nice too, and I hear he gives good hugs? Good selection of sneakers and shred gear. #shredlifecuz #dateaskater

I've easily driven by their shop thousands of times and never payed attention enough to notice their shop... A friend mentioned that I should check them out to get some help with trying to get my new snowboard set up. They are by far the best snowboard/skateboard/sneaker business I've been in. So glad that I found them and I can avoid the large corporate stores that have similar products but lack the expertise and outstanding customer support that Satellite has. Another major plus shopping there is that it's a locally owned business and the money I spend there will stay in our community. Just wish I found them sooner. I highly recommend them, two thumbs up!

REI has been our go to for gear and seasonal casual clothes for decades, yes 4 decades! Even before…read morethey were in Boulder we would drive to Westminster which was the closest location back. Wisely they moved the North Metro location to Boulder. I know many of the staff on a first name basis and they never steer me wrong. My husband is the avid camper, hiker , adventurer, but I have been lucky to find xc skis here for years, to have my bike serviced here and most recently have bought much footwear and casual outdoor seasonal wear. What I was looking for today was not yet in stick for summer but I will look again next week when the spring/summer sale starts. With a membership there are so many perks so the savings are huge, especially kf you use their partner credit card. Even leaving empty handed today, it was a fun experience . And when my husband needs a new tent, no matter how small in comparison to this display today, he will get it here and at a good price for exceptional quality.

My 4 year old was peddling around on a bike, and since he's still learning to stop - was not able. The bearded bros came a running "no no he can't do that". I was waiting for the mace. Being grandiose but not too far off. Their panic was hilariously overzealous. Take pride in your job but brother - Your assistant daytime front end merch manager status equals zero power. Y'all need to chill the eff out. You're an outdoor gear store. Supposed to be a part of and embrace your community. There's a reason why people are turning in their memberships left and right. You're one step away from being in that Walmart level of stores. Sad. Adios- Chad, Kyle and Aspen.

I'm not…read morea high-performance skier, I snowboard these days, and I'm not really a high-performance snowboarder either. Ha. But you can tell that this is the crowd that we are catering to here. Not that they don't have useful stuff for us average skiers - I didn't see anyone being talked down-to here. You'll see a beautiful store, recently expanded from what I understand. Various areas of skis, poles, some clothing, a good selection of maintenance and repair items! And oh the machines they have in the shop - I dunno what they do, but they sure are pretty. :) Apparently there's an upstairs boot fitting room, I didn't visit. My main experience was attending their waxing clinic (they also offer edge and p-tex clinics) - taught by their employees. I can't say enough good things about making self-repair and understanding of equipment a sharing opportunity for a business. Certainly within skiing, you'd have a lot fewer ignorant customers/equipment owners! I know that at least some of us will learn from the clinic, but still hire someone to do the work. I get a good impression, based on both their floor sale and seeing behind the scenes in the repair shop. If I were looking for somewhere where I thought the tech working on my equipment actually cared and has been around long enough to acquire some skills (through time, experience, training or osmosis), I'd go here. Not that other places are bad, but the shop area is really decked out and a place where mechanics can go to town doing what they do. After saving this review, I'm gonna go put this shop on my Boulder "list". Note - their hours are longer than indicated here on Yelp right now - closing at 8pm many nights. Perhaps these are their winter hours.
