Walked into this amazing neighborhood Mexican restaurant today on my visit in Omaha. I waited zero minutes for a table, menu and chips with red and green salsa. I ordered to pork al pastor tacos and a can of Diet Coke and happily munched on the chips with green salsa. My tacos came out soon. They were so delicious! Not dry at all like some other places. Simply fantastic. All the staff there were so kind and friendly and professional. Top notch! I loved the comfortable atmosphere with large open garage doors letting in the cool breezes. What an incredible place to try homemade Mexican food with the most delightful owners. The exterior is unassuming but once you're inside, you feel like you're at a family dinner table. The food here is incredible and the owners are just the sweetest! I don't know why this place isn't packed. It's like if you went to your grandma's house and had dinner. Everything we ate was so delicious. I had the mole and an al pastor taco. My husband had the carne asada, and my friend tried a taco, Gordita and a quesadilla. We all got aguas. Ordered a red tamal (options are green or red). It was so good! Like my mom used to make. Fought over bites of it with my husband. Also ordered chicken torta, American taco (beef) and a Taco tilapia. Food disappeared too fast for pics of tacos. I ate a bite of my torta before I remembered to take a picture. So so happy! Definitely authentic and definitely worth a trip! I saw a Facebook post from Tixteco today; Pozole Thursday, and the picture looked amazing so I convinced my friends to join me (this was not difficult, they had also seen the picture). I tell you - we were not disappointed. You can choose red, green, or white, with pork or chicken. The owner was friendly and I knew immediately it was going to be good, because it's obvious she CARES. About the food, the customers, the staff, everything. We asked about the soups; I think that she said that the green wasn't very hot and the red really wasn't too hot. Well, I got the red, and obviously it's hot, right? You can even tell just looking at the picture! It's just not TOO hot. But be aware that if you want low spice, go for the white pozole. So delicious! Comes with a little plate of toppings and she also brought out a little plate of flautas for us, she said they are the ones she makes for her staff. These were the best flautas I have ever had! So it was a really special meal, and you know I love it when they start it with a basket of chips and a couple squeeze bottles of delicious and hot house-made salsa. Ordered take out from this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised! We got chicken nachos, chicken tacos, & a lengua burrito. The burrito was by far the best choice of the night! They also gave us plenty of reusable containers for sauce and sour cream which was a nice touch. The food was ready quick! Would go back again for sure. read more

We stopped on our way from Colorado to Chicago and found this gem in the middle of our trip. We stopped at 8pm and were the only ones in the restaurant, but we still got a very good service and the best tasting Mexican food. I ordered a Milanesa Torta via Uber Eats. That was a bad idea, the torga was extra soggy due to all of the wrapping and packaging, but the bread overall had no bolillo or telera consistency, way too soft for a torta. The milanesa was salty and whatever cut of meat it was, was not very good either. The salsas they sent were mediocre, the red tasted like a salsa they'd serve you at Chili's with your chips and the green tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while. I also ordered a chocoflan. That was alright, the syrup on top of the flan was overly sweet, overpowering the rest of the dessert. Overall not what I expected out ouf a 4+ star reviewed "original Mexican food" restaurant. Will not be ordering from there via Uber eats and have no intention on stopping there anytime soon. In from out of town, needed some breakfast. Didn't want to wait the hour and a half on a Sunday morning for a certain breakfast club across town. Big thanks to the barista at Archetype for the neighborhood recommendation. We swung right over, sat down, had a very nice server take care of us, and in short order, had two piping hot plates of huevos rancheros in front of us. So good. And I'm guessing our check was... This place has a great website. It's very easy to order online and go pick it up. The food was ready on time and staff was friendly. I would like to go back and try a free more items. I tried the Beef Tongue Torta sandwich along with a bowl of fresh fruit. The portions were definitely large. The Torta sandwich was very good. The bottom layer of the sandwich was refried beans. I've never had beans on a Torta before, but I liked it. This was followed by lettuce, tomato, and guacamole. The beef tongue was tender, slightly salty, but the salt blended well when eaten with the rest of the sandwich. The side of fruit was Huge! It had oranges, mango, grapes and green apples in it, so it was citrusy and tart. It went well with the sandwich. I am eager to go back and try the Menudo! read more

I flew into Omaha and always look for a great Mexican spot (quick -- not necessarily sit down). I ended up here. The food was really, really great! Lots of flavor in the meat and a good amount of food for the price. I think the cook (based on murals on the wall, might have been Ms T herself). There was a bad smell on entering, (like a drain that wouldn't clear), and that wasn't my favorite thing....and they didn't have a soda fountain (to which I'm addicted), but a Diet Coke in a can was a small price to pay for this fantastic food. read more

Ive decided this is my current favorite Mexican food joint... Thanks to door dash I can get it delivered... I always get the Chorizo Desayuno, two stuffed pepper street tacos, and a carnitas taco... I've also had their carnitas burrito which is indescribably awesome... Really great taqueria on the east side of town. Small staff and they are never very busy but I love the food, its always consistently good and very reasonably priced. The nachos are killer as well as the burritos. My only complaint about this joint is the salsa, its not my favorite, sort of bland and a good salsa really makes me excited to come back - I just substitute my own salsa as the rest of there ingredients are great. read more

Oh boy.... I think I just had my favorite tacos (taking over Dos De Oros number 1 spot) at a place 3 blocks from my house. DANGER!! The green salsa is so fresh and delicious. I had two steak and one pork taco. Just like I like them....onion, cilantro, meat, between two fresh corn tortillas. It was perfect. The wife chose a beef americano and she loved it as well. The green salsa is spicy, but they also give you a tamer red taco sauce with your tacos. I may be back tomorrow morning for their breakfast!
