This place is incredible! The best Mexican food I have had in Council Bluffs... Quite honestly in the United States! I'll be back for sure! Thank you for the incredible meal yall!! The service is fast, and the music is happy!

    Pedro's Salad
    Jessica C.

I got the Pedro's salad, because I wanted something a bit more exciting than the taco salad. There were no red peppers, no yellow peppers, no beans, it's iceberg lettuce, and the "red" onions are spicy cooking yellow onions. I would have thought the veggies would have been fajita style since it's a Mexican restaurant... nope, raw green pepper and yellow onion. It came with free chips and salsa that I thought would maybe salvage the meal... no. The salsa is watered down. I still ate it because I'm starving, but I finished it and am still hungry. Really disappointing. $13 after tax.

    Very spacious and comfortable!

Food is mediocre, margarita was meh and the service wasn't good - the waitress had an attitude.

This restaurant is quietly tucked away near the old town portion of Council Bluffs. Metered Street parking is available in the area. We were there mid afternoon and there was quite a bit of activity. I'm guessing that this location gets a lot of traffic later in the evenings and on weekends. Don't let the slightly frazzled menus fool you, this restaurant is immaculate! I cannot believe that I have never been here before. The hours of this restaurant and its menu clearly reflect the ability to get Mexican style breakfast, lunch or dinner all day long. Our servers bilingual capability reflects the clientele that are attracted to this wonderful spot. Great chips, nice fresh salsa with a little bit of heat and very good guacamole. I love the fact that they offer a little bit smaller portions so that you don't end up feeling like you have to stuff yourself or leave a little bit behind. The pricing is great and clearly beer and margaritas are readily available. There is even a corner of the restaurant that caters to Mexican style snacks. Great desserts too! We will definitely be coming back here again - and so should you!

There is a dedicated parking in Council Bluffs however, it's a bit small. You may have to choose street parking for restaurant access. Both locations are open all day which offers a nice selection for mid afternoon dining. Daily specials and happy hours are available throughout the week. Check their website for details We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated and jumped right into their selection of dips while we try to make a decision on our main meal. What I really like about their menu is they do allow for a pick two or pick three options that includes your own choice of sides. Their street corn side is one of my favorites. The Council Bluffs location offers more of a sports bar atmosphere while their Omaha location has outdoor seating if you're looking for a place to sit in the middle of the summer (LOL). Really great food, great service, and great atmosphere. What more could you ask for?

For an appetizer we had the mini spicy elote empanadas. Sad part they were not hot and you can tell they came frozen. The sauce that came with was good. For dinner my husband had the Big Juan and I had the beef chimichanga. My husband was sad that we never given chips. Also he had no sides with his dinner. I had a side of rice and beans. The rice was either undercooked or very dry, it was hard. The chimichanga had a good taste but didn't taste fried. My husband's Big Juan was missing sour cream. He said it was alright but not good enough to have again. Tried on a whim, don't plan on returning. The restaurant was very loud we couldn't talk to one another across the table. But disappointed.

My husband loved his margarita and ordered a 2nd. We loved our chip trio, guacamole, salsa, and queso, and you had a choice of flour, corn or mix chips, we chose flour. Chips are also unlimited!! Prices were right on point, $5 margarita $13 for the chip trio, so cheap these days! The single beef tacos $4 were HUGE took over the entire basket, definitely not a street taco size lol. The service was fantastic, and it felt like a true family restaurant. The chips were so good, and the salsa was spicy but not too much for people with sensitive palates. I love this style of chips, not a thin restaurant style but a thicker, more savory bite. We went through one portion before our food got to us and they brought more out when I asked. I highly recommend the tacos. I made a mistake and asked for birria not quesabirria tacos, so make sure to specify that if you want quesabirria (with cheese). But, the birria was good anyways! I also got the taco macho (see the pic for what's inside), and wish I would've ordered 2 of those! My husband got the huitlacoche and squash blossom tacos and they were both so good. I was so impressed they had huitlacoche as an option, I've never seen that before! The drinks were ordered and delivered from the server, but she said since they're working on a liquor license they have a bar next door that makes them. If you order a drink with your food, they charge for the drinks and food separate for that reason. I liked my jalapeño margarita!
