The consome was delicious. The cheese was NICE and GOOEY. That cheese pull was great. I also appreciated that they put the cilantro, onions and lime on the side. The elote had the perfect amount of mayo and cheese. It was very good. The meal was seasoned perfectly. The cashier was kind. They brought us our food to the table, after taking our order. This was my first time visiting this location, so I tried their staple item which is the birria tacos with cheese and consomé. Price wise, it felt fair. About $13 for the tacos and $5 for the churros, totaling around $19 with tax. The birria tacos came with a generous portion, and the consomé was rich with flavor. I do wish the tacos themselves were a little crispier, but the flavor overall was good. I also liked that it came with two types of salsa--the red was super spicy (my favorite) and the green was more on the mild side. First time visiting here and the food was great! The tacos were full of flavor, the service was amazing, and the establishment was very clean. I also got my food quickly, which was a plus. My only disappointment was that the elote was served in a smaller cup than I expected. Other than that, everything was really good. I really just needed a side of consommé and not an entire giant bowl of Ramen noodles and birria meat. I guess I have lunch for tomorrow. The cashier was very helpful since it could be a lot to look at for first timers trying to figure out what to choose from. The birria was perfectly cooked. Super tender and deliciously flavored. Stopped in for dinner and immediately loved the vibes. Great music and friendly service that literally stepped up to welcome us in for our first time. He provided a paper trifold with a QR code that had pictures of all menu items. Everything looked so good, so I went with the Birria Deluxe to sample it all. So while visit family in Texas I was told about this spot. And the food did not disappoint me. I bought the Ramen combo for $14.99 it came with this big container of noodles with 2 quesbirria tacos. Actually before heading back to Cali I will stop by there and pick up some tacos. The staff was very helpful due to the fact that I wasn't sure what to order when looking for just just some quesbirria tacos. We've tried their Stafford location, which we loved! We were super excited to see their Katy location open so close to home! The service is 5 stars all the way. Super friendly when ordering and checked on us throughout our meal. Love that they're consistent on this at both locations. We had the birria tacos and steak burrito. Both were yum! Only gripe, the dipping sauce for the birria was not consistent. It had to strong of an all spice taste that was overbearing. It wasn't like that at the Stafford location. If they can correct this, I would up the stars. :) 2nd bummer was they didn't have horchata which is our fave. The restaurant was clean and tidy. While there were a few people in the restaurant, it was not crowded but we were an hour or so past the normal lunch hour. I ordered the brisket tacos, they were fabulous! The fresh cilantro and lime served on the side really brought it home. The green salsa was a perfect blend of flavor and spice (not a lot of heat). The red sauce was WAY too hot for me but hubby liked it. I also ordered the Cantaloupe Aqua Fresca. It was so refreshing and light. I've came here many times already for the past year now. Honestly, it's my go to spot when i just want some great Mexican food. Just like that one Green Mexican food truck that we all know and go to after a night out in downtown Houston, yeah... you know which one I'm talking about!! Well this place tastes just like that, and I don't need to drive all the way to Houston for it. They make the food pretty quickly, and everyone is so sweet every time I've gone. The horchata there is quite good too, it's not watered down like most places. I go to Mexico often and this place tastes the closest to real authentic Mexican food!! I know the menu can be intimidating sometimes but honestly, get the Birria Deluxe as your first time. My other favorite is the volcano shrimp tacos! Don't let the names fool you. The Birriadillas are the "tacos" and the Quesabirria is a large quesadilla. The menu is posted on a side wall in chalk. This was easy to navigate. However, with the name discrepancies a traditional menu with pictures would be helpful. We also had horchata (not pictured). Along with our orders, we were given some hot sauces. Both have a great kick. Consomé was full of spices and wonderful broth. Both Quesabirria and Birriadillas had plenty of meat and cheese. This is my first time trying birria tacos as I was curios to taste the red sauce used for dipping to enrich the flavor. I had nothing to compare it to but the sauce was watery. It seemed watered down so not sure if this is the right consistency. Also, the taco meat was watery and lacked flavor so was disappointed with the food. Tacos had nothing memorable that hit my tastebuds to want to go back for more. I also tried the chicken quesadilla but it too lacked flavor with greasy cheese so did not finish it. Maybe it was a bad night, but I don't have money to waste to find out. On a good note, the homemade salsa hot sauce was good and restaurants was clean and the service was friendly at pickup. It seemed like it was young adults are running the place and so that could be the problem if not responsible for quality of food being served. For starters I usually come to this restaurant when I want a good quesabirria, I've been coming here since last year and have never had a problem with their service or their menu items, always been super good. The vibe of the restaurant is always good and it's super clean, the music is great too. However this time I ordered chilaquiles- which I'd tried last time and enjoyed. I ordered them with all red sauce, and I even asked the two servers what they recommended best, salsa guajillo or salsa picosa, they said picosa is the best in their opinion. I ordered the salsa picosa and thought nothing of it, our last chilaquiles had some spice to them too and we were expecting the same. As I walked away from the counter I started hearing a cook in the back begin to fuss about "some white girl wanting the salsa picosa" and asking the two servers if they were sure I wanted it. Me and my spouse sat there in shock as you could hear everything she was saying from our seats. When it came out it looked really good, as good as last time. My spouse started eating and immediately stopped, she even coughed from the level of spiciness. There was no flavor of the salsa at all, just spice. This was an uncommon experience for us and I, again, thought not much of it. However it was too much for us and we asked if it could be sent back or swapped out, which I know no one looks forward to, I felt bad. The server was more than accommodating took back our food, but the cook in the back went off AGAIN. "Esa gringa dijo que quería la salsa picosa, y ahora dice que esta demasiado picoso. Si ella no puede aguantarlo, no la ordena." This wasn't all that she said and I don't remember word for word the rest. Just know I was shocked. Me and my wife sat there in silence not knowing what to say. I'm mexican and a little on the pale side, my wife is also mexican and on the tanner side, we speak Spanish. There is no reason I should be able to hear whatever snarky comments you have about me FROM MY TABLE. I understand frustration in food being sent back, but also believe there needs to be an understanding of what is spicy and what is overdone and inedible. I usually enjoy coming here and have no issues at all, this was my first time seeing this cook and my first time sending anything back. She totally squashed my experience and I think she should be spoken to. With the way she spoke about me that day I don't think me or my family will be back. read more
