I didn't even bother contacting anyone else. I was so set on Matt doing my space that I emailed him in January, making sure that I would be near the top of his list. Understanding that they're a boutique sized design company, I knew that wait times could pile up in a hurry, so I did not drag my feet to contact him. --I wanted my house on his radar before he was slammed with inquiries! I was lying in bed at night, obsessing about my yard in December so no way was I going to procrastinate getting on his schedule. I couldn't afford to lose sleep all summer as I waited my turn! FYI: Don't be afraid to contact him about small projects. I have a fairly small front yard and was initially worried that he wouldn't want to take on a smaller scale project, but he assured me that size wouldn't deter him. The benefit of emailing him well before spring was that I heard back from him immediately. If the glowing reviews hadn't already sealed the deal, his personable responses certainly did. I could tell immediately that he was someone I would enjoy working with. My gut feeling was not wrong. I have had multiple projects running back-to-back and have been dealing with a plethora of people. Matt and his crew were the most professional and most enjoyable people (by far) to work with. And my yard.... my yard is gorgeous. I can't believe what an impact even a small space can make! I'm so happy with every detail of my dealings with him and his crew that I'm hiring him next year for my backyard. And yes, I'll probably start talking to him about it over the winter. I bought two bushes and spent $72.40. I was told both bushes needed full sun. Both bushes were wilted and half dead within two weeks after planting even with daily watering. A month after purchase one bush is now totally dead. I called the store to see if they guarantee their plants and was told a flat out no. The bush didn't even last a month! I will never go to that store again. Bad customer service and bad plants. If you cannot treat customers with respect and guarantee your product then you do not deserve my business. Manny and his crew took it from there and brought our vision to life. While working on our property, the crew was always professional and courteous. Interestingly, they have the lowest ratings of any other company I've looked at here. That is a fact that cannot be argued. In my opinion, they have earned their poor reviews. I hope everyone reads this. Lawn Care by Walter has terrible reviews. They give the same tired old response assuming we read every bit of each piece of mail we get. And the fact is, they only agreed to not charge me for an unwanted service after I accused them of trespassing. If an employee of mine treated my exiting customers the way they do I would fire that employee on the spot. I would think their junk reviews would be enough to wake them up. I wish them well but I do hope they change their business model to not bully people who leave them. Creating a situation that alienates customers to this extreme is a stupid business tactic. And to say "We are sorry you feel that way ..." for a situation that they created is ridiculous.The bottom line is they can run their business the way they want. There were three men who came to do the work with one of the men called RuBin acting as foreman.. While two of the men got started on the job , Rubin started to ask this client personal questions and giving her some unsolicited remarks about his life. This conversation made my friend very uncomfortable and she retreated back into the the house. When the work was completed , Rubin came to the door and told the the owner that Amy would send an invoice for the completion of work but that invoice didn't include their tip so she wrote a check to Rubin for the tip. " WHAT" Since when do you pay landscapers a tip. This was a very scary experience for her and she felt violated and taken advantage of. Needless to say she won't ever use Andy's again.

I reported this to Ack Ack and after a review I was told the tree looked fine, this after most of the leaves had fallen. An Illinois office of Agriculture saw the leaves and determined it was apple scab and I received a diseased tree. I was told nothing would be done and to wait until next year.It would probably recover if I sprayed it several times. Again I was told that the tree looked fine. I would caution any buyer to avoid rhis vendor. If the tree is healthy all is okay, but if you have a problem, they do not respond to help or replace diseased items. I can only give Ack Ack one star.
