I love me some TJJ Maxx! I have been shopping at this particular location for a very long time, and was surprised when I saw I hadn't reviewed it. This particular one is located right off harbor boulevard next to home Depot, and has plenty of parking. Entering the store can be a little overwhelming as they really do have something for everybody and then some. There are plenty of jewelry, items, luggage, home goods, and of course clothing. I always come here because sometimes my weight fluctuates a little bit and I don't feel like spending a million dollars from for some designer jeans. I much rather come in and pay 20 bucks for a pair of jeans that probably will not last me 6-8 months as my weight continues to drop. In addition to that, they have plenty of food items. Which is very tempting for me, because they also have a great selection of candy, nuts, and flavored popcorn. It's a dangerous place if you're looking to trim down. The bottom line? This is a great t.J Maxx, and I would highly recommend it for anyone who lives in the Costa Mesa area. Do yourself a favor and go check this place out today! read more

The only thing better than TJ Maxx is a TJ Maxx-Homegoods hybrid. This store has it all. From staple clothing items to the best cookware and interior design pieces, you're sure to find exactly what you're looking for. Since this location is both a TJ Maxx and a Homegoods, it gets an insane amount of foot traffic. Luckily, they do a decent job keeping the store stocked with quality finds. This is my go-to store for hostess gifts. They have so many unique items that would fit anyone's personality. Plus, their seasonal stuff is to-die-for. I love the current trend of pink holiday decor! A few of my go-to purchases from this location: frames, candles, towels, blankets, kitchen, Tupperware, pillows, and plant pots. I recently snagged a white cast iron Dutch oven for soup and it's been my best find to date! I also love the seasonal clothing dropped by TJ Maxx. I came here on my adopted pups one year bday on the way to taking her to the dog beach & needed to pick up a new leash as I couldn't find her two regular ones... my favorite leash for her was actually made for a cat (she's a chihuahua :) I had bought it at Marshall's (same company) it came with a harness I never used. Luckily they actually had exactly what I was looking for, but someone or multiple someone's had stolen all of the cat harnesses from all four of the packages they had on display. Price for harness and leash as a set $11.99, they marked a couple of the ones with missing harnesses to $9.00 clearance!! lol Only $3 off when the harness is obviously the main thing you are paying for... I brought the other packages up, showed her, tried explaining the little leash should not cost more than half without the harness and on clearance with red tag. Some of the things I found here were really incredible stuff- think great brands for half the price. The checkout line is always the worst part but surprisingly the line here flew by! This is a HomeGoods location, so the majority of the store is furniture, big and small, and rugs of all sizes, some as big as a whole wall. But there is still a good amount of clothes, shoes, bath & body items, bed sheets, pillows, workout stuff & mats, kitchen wear, snacks, and electronics. The lines here can get really long, doubling the usual line aisle. During the weekends, it can take a while to get through it, so during the week is the best time to go. Today I found some flavored date spread jars that will go perfect on toast, scones, and crackers. There's always great finds here! read more

They hired a new manager so I believe that is the reason the line is much better now, maybe some more cashiers, too. It's not great but it is tolerable when the line is long : ) It's also clean and orderly and that makes shopping here more enjoyable. My friend and I spend hours here monthly because there is so much to look at and buy. Last night I noticed they kept making an announcement letting you know you can save 10% if you open up a credit card with them. It seemed like it was every 15-20 minutes and it was annoying. I already have their CC but if I didn't, I wouldn't get one because of the annoying broadcast. I'm off to TJ Maxx again! read more

always find great deals and cute stuffing always shop here and find great items. However today i wanted a pair of gloves that had no price. The make was a no name brand and they brought a London Fog brand for $14.99 then another known brand for $9.99. The ones i wanted to buy were clearly not as expensive due to the no name brand and quality. Though i spent over $200.00 they insisted on charging me the more expensive price. This store is huge! I think half is considered TJ Maxx, and the other half is considered Homegoods. I went mainly to scope out the Halloween stock, and they had aisle upon aisle of cool little knick knacks. I did have some questions on items I've been hunting for, but I couldn't find a staff member to ask, so I gave up. Sadly no pumpkin Mickeys for me. I've also been trying to organize the house a bit better, and make areas more functional with containers and storage bins- this store will definitely help me with that. read more

This is a STAFF/CUSTOMER SERVICE rant. The store itself has amazing stock on just about anything you could ever want. I shop for specific items so when I go into any HG/TJM I am usually on the hunt for something particular or adding to what I already have. On my latest trip to the Harbor Blvd, Costa Mesa, store, I was on just such a mission. I have all aluminum bakeware. (Either Nordic Ware or Fat Daddio's) I have the small round cake pans ranging in size from 4 inches to 8 inches. I know what I paid for each. I found a 3 x 2.5 inch round without a sticker price. The size would be a great small addition to the top of the 4-6 inch rounds. I also found several 4 inch rounds without sticker prices. I kept the small pan with my other items and after loading up my cart I went to check out and asked what the price would be for the small pan. A short time later a woman came back and said the price was $5.99 - NO WAY LADY!!! There is no way this small pan would be $5.99 when so many bakeware items are usually less for larger sizes. I told her that was too much and that no way it would be that much. She said it may be part of a set but she failed to come back with other items to complete any set or offer any alternatives. She did NOTHING to help. She shrugged and walked away discarding the little pan next to the register where it sat the whole time I was checking out as a reminder that this "sales lady" could care less about being helpful. I made a comment to the associate ringing me up that she was wrong and that the price was also wrong. The lady assisting me with check out said the other lady was "in charge" of the area which the pan came from and anther "girl" came along and said the same thing. I said that the lady didn't really know her area since she was unable to know the real price and there were several other unmarked items. The "girl" said as she walked away, "That is your opinion".....WHAT????? I could not believe this "girl" had the nerve to talk back to me like that. No one cared at all. I paid for my items - $200.00 and as I was leaving I said to the "girl" - "Next time a customer asks about something DO NOT TALK BACK." and walked out. The "girl" said very loudly, "Have a nice evening" - I said back, thanks I will - then she said, again, really loud, "have a nice Holiday." I said you too. I absolutely will never go back to that store. I hope this reaches the manager and that this is addressed. I do not know any their names but the cashier that helped me would be able say as she was there the whole time. (numbers I pulled from my receipt maybe an associate number #1019455, #831736, #80023, #6399, #1054) TRAIN YOUR ASSOCIATES TO HELP THE CUSTOMER - NOT DISREGARD THEM. TELL YOUR ASSOCIATES TO NOT TALK BACK. TELL YOUR ASSOCIATES THAT THEY ARE THERE TO SERVICE THE PAYING CUSTOMER. IT'S BUSINESS 101. I realize this sounds petty and I should just get over it but my point is, no matter how small an item, with or without a price, the customer should always leave feeling good. I realize that this store is not a place for the ultimate customer experience, but THIS episode was horrible and having a condescending farewell as I left was what prompted this. The level of associates hired in these stores has degraded significantly in recent years. I can say, it's on par with what has happened to both Costa Mesa AND neighboring Santa Ana. TJ MAXX Deserves five stars at every location. I am a huge fan of the store. Recently I have been buying a bunch of Halloween decorations and other Halloween products to review on my Youtube Channel. I know that we are in the middle of September, but I have been grabbing a bunch of Halloween decorations and I am so excited to prep ahead of time because after reviewing the items on my YouTube channel, other people get encouraged and motivated to get some Halloween items as well. Extemley annoying manager who had me walk all away around to the main area to do my returns when nobody was there. All my items were still wrapped in the original paper and bags. He told me please take everything out as I can't touch the bags or paper. However, after I removed everything and unwrapped my returns with my bare hands it was ok for him to touch the items that I had touched. He then removed his gloves in order to complete the transaction on his cash register. A little extreme and very strange. Actually, if the stores are so paranoid the employees should be wearing goggles as any sort of germs or virus can get into their exposed eyes. Take it a step further wear ear plugs so that the opening of their ears don't get the same stuff in them. Good luck! read more

Seems like people just come here when they are upset. I like coming here! Always good finds for things that are normally so much more expensive. Like a quality bath mat or kitchen tools. I used to work at Tj Maxx, so I know EXACTLY how it works. They always have a huge line to pay with a ton of associates on the floor doing recovery. The most recent time I went, I saw three associates in men's recovering even though the area was already clean. The line went all the way through the queue and another lap behind it. It was RIDICULOUS you would have thought it was Christmas time. The manager or service coordinator weren't even at the front. And no one was calling for back up even though there were about 5-7 registers open. I guess they were using the associates on the floor to do price checks but I remember my manager would put me on register and if I needed a price check I had to go do it myself. They are very stingy here about giving you discounts on things. There have been times were I wanted something but it was chipped or scratched and they refuse to give me a discount. Which makes it so dumb because no one is going to want it anyways until it goes on clearance. Even more ridiculous is that you have to wait in that long line to ask... You find good things here every now and then but honestly if you only need one thing it's better to go to a different discount store because it's a waste of time to wait in that line for one thing. read more

I use to love this TJ a Maxx. But now it's one of the worst in customer service and if you go in and doing an exchange, they literally follow you around the store, as if you were stealing. It's so obvious and hilarious since I evaluate corporations. Very sad. The line was so long and I did find somethings I wanted, but they did nothing to move it faster. So I just left. And truly they could careless. Everyone in the line was saying the same thing. Very sad for a store that was great and has a lot of inventory. read more
