They even have a smaller mall across the street. There are so many excellent restaurants inside both malls plus across the street on both Sunflower and Anton. South Coast Plaza has redeemed itself form the hideous Christmas Tree they had a few years ago. It's still one of the nicest indoor malls in Southern California, and on a hot day, it's a nice reprise from the heat. It's rare for a mall these days to not have empty store fronts. While South Coast Plaza has a lot of "coming soon" store fronts, the store fronts that say "Some special coming soon" are very rare, and are mostly in the Macy's Home Store Wing, but even that is almost full. The one thing I had to put on the review is that South Coast Plaza has the nicest restrooms! They're almost high-end resort level. They are well kept and very clean. The garage for paper towels can sometimes overflow, but that's super minor. I don't use it, but they have a really nice family lounge as well. read more

Hi end shopping place. I usually come here for the food and shopping. This place has coffee shop and brand names stores you can shop all day here. My favorite is the swiss chocolate store and the Le Shrimp Noodles House. It's pricey but worth it! Come check it out and bring your whole family and enjoy the trotting and photo shooting while windows shopping, you might find something when you least expected . It has a Carrousel on the first floor for kids to ride for a fee. Parking is usually available at different sides of the Mall. read more

South coast plaza is a beautiful mall. I overheard someone saying it's the 4th largest mall in the US? It might be, but it's definitely one of the nicest. It's clean and bright. It has so many great stores from luxury brands to like little known brands and great restaurants. It has character. And it attracts a lot of people. We walked to the mall from the east side and there was a beautiful bridge leading to the entrance of the mall. There is even a carousel inside. There are plenty of maps and an info counter for people to help you. We ate dinner here and walked around for a bit. I was impressed. There are a lot of Asian restaurants and I wonder if they're trying to attract Asian customers. It's not like it's located in an Asian community, but I was happy to find out they had a din tai fung, a phoholic and other restaurants that have dim sum, boba, Korean food etc.--lots to choose from! read more

Honestly, South Coast Plaza is a bit overwhelming for me. However, my experiences here has always been pleasant. There are a plethora of stores from high-end to regular stores. Good restaurants in the mall itself and surrounding. There are valet options & self parking options. I work two exits away on MacArthur so it's convenient for me to come and there's a great selection of pretty much everything. Love the Skims store here. South Coast Plaza is such a fun place to visit! Whether you're dining at one of their many restaurants or shopping at one of the stores, there is something for everyone! I feel that South Coast has a lot of stores that are not common to other shopping centers. Prior to Popmart opening in Cerritos, it was South Coast Plaza that was my go to stop for Popmart. It is also at this mall that I go for my Laderach chocolate fix. As a foodie, I love the abundance of restaurants here! Paradise Dynasty is an amazing spot for xiao long bao. I love that they have a Filipino fusion spot via Terrace by Mix Mix. Calo Kitchen is another favorite. Christmas time is always a good time to come because of all the beautiful decorations. During, the summer they also display creative can creations from the Canstruction OC benefiting the OC Food Bank! Whenever I come to South Coast Plaza, I am always amazed at how big it is and how so much there is to see! It's definitely one of my fave spots to visit when I'm in Costa Mesa. read more

Every time I go I feel like they have a new art installation of some sort like a stamp collection from Asia or crystal exhibit from Baccarat or the latest which was Canstruction, a design build competition. There are two parts to the mall that are connected by a bridge. The second part of the mall is quieter with less people so I like to do my mall walking there. You are sure to find something you like here. I believe this is one of the biggest malls in Souther California. Since my high school days, this mall was one of the best in Southern California. Always clean and well maintained. I'm glad to see that it still is! Although, I don't come here often to shop, I still stop in here occasionally to get coffee at Starbucks. The parking lot is huge, so you're bound to always find an available parking spot outside of the peak shopping days during major holidays. There's a convenient pedestrian walkway if you need to cross over to the other side of Bristol St. Just keep in the mind that the parking lot is for South Coast Plaza patrons! read more

Apparently coming in very casual clothes just for gelato then mall walking while admiring the shop displays is a highly suspicion activity as my husband and I were followed by multiple security guards- including one zealous guard that followed us down a floor and across the mall then walked up on us while we sat for a few minutes to play on our phones. I have never encountered this issue in the past as I have always dressed nicely when visiting this mall and we have always in the past planned visits around getting a meal or buying some things during our mall walking, but this time we didn't want to spend much money and didn't bother to dress up which ostensibly is a huge problem to South Coast Plaza security and seemed to put a target on us. Good forbid two people who don't look rich want to enjoy a beautiful air conditioned mall on a hot day. Let this be a warning to all that you should look rich and/or visibly be actively spending money here if you want to avoid being followed. read more

This is a going to hang out and kill time at mall at the OC. It's so high end that unless I get something from the other side of the mall connected by the bridge, I'm not buying anything at all. I think the level of bouginess can easily be gauged as this place doesn't have a set food court like other malls, but there are dining options like Din Tai Fung and fancier cafes. And I guess a small nook area with boba and some other sit down food, but not a food court as you know it. If you're a luxury lover, it'd be nice to dress up nicely to make sure you're not marked as a prole and see what the clothes, fabric, materials, purses, jewelry, bags etc look good on you in person. Other than that, it's quite nice during the Christmas season to see all of the decorations and the giant 3 story tree. It's also nicely decorated during Lunar New Year, so this gives you some photo ops. Fine place to kill some time. read more

Everything was wrapped in their special packaging and then she gave me a plain bag to put my things in so it wouldn't appear I had just spent a lot of money. I love to browse, shop and eat at South Coast plaza. It is especially nice during the lunar new year and Christmas holiday season as it is always decorated beautifully to the nines ! Definitely one of the best more elaborate holiday mall displays you will see in Southern California. Some of my favorite eateries are Seasons 52 for a healthier lighter option, Din Tai Fung if you feel like Asian and Calo Kitchen for some good Mexican eats. Always such a beautiful mall to go to with so many different stores. There's ample parking even on a Sunday, which cannot be said about a lot of other malls! The workers are also nice, I saw one give a service dog sticker to someone so that their dog was easily identifiable. That's such a nice touch that I never would have thought of! Calling all the boujee baddies! This is the only high end mall in OC. This mall contains anything high end and more. This mall is also a very large mall with two stories and different wings. It can get overwhelming sometimes. There's plenty of parking lots and parking garages. Free! Finding a spot can be a challenge, especially during the weekend. It's extremely clean inside. I love visiting during the holidays because they go all out with the decor, especially during Christmas. It's a bit emptier during the weekdays but extremely crowded during the weekends. Great spot to bring your family, hangout with friends, or grab a bite to eat. As I mentioned before, this mall is huge. There's directories in almost every corner. The concierge is also very helpful with directions. They usually approach you if you look lost. There's security everywhere, so it seems safe. All workers in every store is also helpful. They always greet you once you enter and assist you with finding anything you're looking for. There's constant stores and restaurants opening and closing. The restaurants offered here are none like your usual mall. They have quick grab-n-go and sit down restaurants. New luxury brands are always popping up. This is a great mall for all things materialist. It does uphold the luxury feel. You can honestly spend a whole day here. read more

BEWARE PARENTS OF BABIES AND TODDLERS! This mall is HORRIBLE for those of us with little ones that use strollers and need a diaper changing table. Elevators are small, hidden, and scarce, save for one glass elevator. Bathrooms are either closed or so dirty you can't use them. My last two trips I had to leave early after trying multiple bathrooms to find a place to change my baby's diaper. Bloomingdale's bathrooms were always closed, the family restrooms were closed, the women's bathrooms had one handicapped stall and no diaper changing table! Where am I supposed to change my kids diaper?! Plus I had to walk to the opposite end of the mall to find an elevator to try out different floors to locate the bathrooms. Ugh horrible mall for families with young kids. read more

Lovely indoor mall offering many stores I like shopping from. The Tiffany's store here can service my jewelry while I shop their collection. Buchere's offers Rolex servicing, which I find useful and convenient. Love getting all my fragrance restocks at Saks as well as at Jo Malone. The latter allows you to get personalized engraving on the spot for free. So cool. The mall also just added Dior and Lacoste. And don't get me started on the eatery selection found in the Bloomingdales wing. So many good eats found there and much more elevated experience than many mall food court. Love Nagi over in the Crate and Barrel wing too. It also has a nice anthropologie store along with Lululemon, Apple Store, and William-Sonoma. Ugh. I was at South Coast Plaza on Tue. Aug. 4, 2026, enjoying the mall. When I was ready to leave, I went to where my car had been, only to find it was missing. I questioned mall security, and they admitted that they had towed my car. The reasons they gave were that my car was "abandoned" (false!) and that I had "left the property" (also false!). They also claimed that because I walked across the footbridge to the half of the shopping center which is west of Bear St., that constituted "leaving South Coast Plaza", but this is also false, because the west half is also clearly marked "South Coast Plaza". I had to walk 12 miles and pay $383 to get my car back. Do NOT patronize this shopping center! They WILL tow your car for bogus reasons and force you to walk 12 miles and pay $383, as they did to me. read more

I came here on a Tuesday afternoon just to walk around in it and eat at some places. There are a lot of luxury stores and restaurants to go to, and there are also two merry go rounds that almost always get busy. There are anchor tenants like Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, and Saks Fifth Avenue. There is a food court that is in Blommingdales on its southeast corner that includes restaurants like Pho Holic and Bruxie's. There is plenty of parking in the large parking lots and if you go here, you'll always find a parking spot for you, a friend, a family member, and/or both. Parking is usually crowded near the building but the vehicles dwindled as sunset and night approach. read more

Did I tell you that I love malls. I'm that mall rat kid from the 80's. South Coast Plaza is my favorite mall in the whole world besides the malls in Thailand with the food courts downstairs. The selection of Asian foods are impressive in this mall. I love grabbing lunch at Din Tai Fung, shopping at the Lego store, and browsing Louis Vuitton. This mall has all the best stores.
