It's not what it used to be. This was once a great store. Now it's simply ok. The deals on cologne and men's grooming are impressive. Yet when it comes to our clothing, where to begin? This is a high volume store. Am certain entitled customers throw clothes around to represent a hurricane. I actually feel sorry for the employees, as there aren't enough of them to keep up in my opinion. The lines at the registers alone is shocking. There is a good amount of home decorations for young families. This could decrease Christmas costs a bit. For those into savings, this might be a proper location for you. As for what I looked for, not much in XL sweaters or sweatshirts. If you're tall there are other places. Then again getting in and out of the parking lot is a headache.

9/25/21 Time for another new purse?...I wonder if it would be easier...nevermind. if she likes it, that is what matters. We are here at TJ Maxx killing time, having fun and seeing what is on sale. Our vacation is still going on even if we are not traveling to distant locations. The atmosphere here is pleasant and has many people doing what we are doing. Most people are still wearing masks, but everyone appears to be in high spirits. The place seems more organized than I was expecting. The men's jewelry has some bulky jewelry, but I did recognize a blue ring I have seen online and Kay Jewelers. Here it cost $19.99. I am not intrested, but it is nice to know it is cheaper here. Many things will be gone after a few months with new stuff coming in. I think I have enough stuff, but I am still having fun here.

I could not find anything I wanted to purchase unfortunately. They have many good deals. There are many things at their clearance spots. But Home Goods on a same street has better prices for kitchen stuff. It's not crowded at all. Staffs are nice. Parking lot is right in from of the store.

I've never had a bad experience at any TJ Maxx! I do miss the lay away, hopefully they will bring it back.

Love Nordstrom. A beautiful store with excellent selection of items from children, clothing,…read moreshoes, accessories, and home goods. I also love the coffee bar and third floor cafe. Staff were all super friendly and helpful while I looked at sunglasses, lingerie, children's wear and shoes. The young woman at the front entrance was very kind and asked another associate to help me. Unfortunately, the second associate wasn't nearly as friendly or welcoming. I was interested in the Diptyque candles because I wanted to purchase one for my sister, but after smelling them, I didn't think they were as impressive as the Diptyque perfumes I already own. I was actually glad I didn't do a blind buy. The associate then directed me to the Byredo fragrance counter. I wanted a Byredo candle, but I wasn't looking to spend $95 on one. While browsing online, I noticed there was a smaller size available, but the associate never mentioned that option. The candle selection in the store was also very limited and seemed to be low in stock. When I told him I'd just order online, his attitude became noticeably dismissive once he realized I wasn't purchasing the $95 candle. He did offer to place an online order for store pickup, but by that point I no longer felt comfortable purchasing through him. Between his attitude and my earlier interaction with the second associate, I simply didn't feel valued as a customer. I then went up to the third floor, where the experience unfortunately didn't improve. Although several sales associates walked past me, no one greeted me or offered assistance. I finally stopped one associate and asked if the candles on display were the only ones available. She replied that she was on her break and could find someone else to help. I asked if she could simply answer my question, and she responded, "I don't know." At that point, I was extremely frustrated. Thankfully, my experience completely turned around when I reached the customer service register. The two gentlemen working there were incredibly kind, patient, and understanding. I'll admit I probably came across as frustrated, but that was only because of the multiple negative interactions I'd already experienced. They noticed I was on a scooter wearing a walking boot and treated me with genuine care and respect. One of the associates was Micah S., and he and his coworker provided the level of customer service I had hoped to receive throughout the store. They listened, understood my concerns, and made me feel appreciated as a customer. They truly deserve recognition--and if anyone has earned a bonus or a raise, it's those two gentlemen.

Since I now work in Arlington, I visit both this Marshalls and the nearby TJ Maxx pretty often, and I've consistently had better luck here. I've come across some really great finds at this Marshalls, from wardrobe staples to little unexpected gems. On the flip side, I rarely find much worth grabbing at the TJ Maxx in this area, which always surprises me given how much I typically love that store. Selection & Finds: This location always seems to have a solid selection, and the inventory feels more thoughtfully stocked compared to the TJ Maxx nearby. I've walked out with some really good finds here on multiple occasions, which keeps me coming back. I do wish they carried more workout gear, especially things like weight lifting gloves, since that's one category where the selection feels a bit limited. Store Experience: One thing that really stands out is how neat and organized this Marshalls is. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I walk in and don't feel like I have to dig through piles just to browse. The layout makes shopping feel easier and less chaotic than what I've experienced at the TJ Maxx close by. Service: The store associates here are attentive and kind, which makes a difference. Whether it's helping at checkout or answering a quick question, the interactions have always been pleasant. Value: The prices here are generally good, and I can usually find solid deals on everyday items and wardrobe staples. That said, every now and then I do come across items that feel a bit overpriced for Marshalls, especially when they're not significantly discounted from what you'd pay elsewhere. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's something I've started to notice during recent visits. Overall, if you're choosing between the Marshalls and TJ Maxx in this area, this Marshalls is the better bet in my opinion. I didn't expect to say that, but here we are.

I think the value is always worth it, the service is standard (ask and you'll receive), and the items are as expected. This location was nice being close to other stores.

Since I now work in Arlington, I visit both stores often, hoping to score the kinds of finds TJ Maxx is usually known for. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck at this location. I still pop in from time to time out of habit and optimism, but more often than not, I leave empty-handed. Selection & Finds: The selection here feels hit or miss, leaning more toward miss lately. There's a sign for a "luxury" section, which initially caught my attention, but the items there tend to lack the quality you'd expect from something labeled luxury. It feels more like a concept than a well-executed section, which is disappointing when you're hoping to discover standout pieces. Store Experience: One of the biggest challenges with this location is how messy it can be. Racks often feel overcrowded, and items are frequently out of place, which makes browsing feel more like a chore than a fun treasure hunt. Compared to the Marshalls nearby, this store feels noticeably less organized and harder to shop. Service: The associates have been fine overall, but the general store upkeep makes the experience feel a bit rushed and less enjoyable than it should be. Pricing: The prices here can be decent, and I know TJ Maxx is known for good deals, but lately I've noticed more items that feel overpriced for what they are. Sometimes the discounts don't feel as significant as expected, especially when the quality doesn't quite match the price point. It makes it a little harder to justify purchases, especially when I'm not finding standout items to begin with. Overall, I still love TJ Maxx as a brand, but this particular location hasn't lived up to the standard I'm used to. If you're shopping in the Pentagon City area, you may have better luck at the nearby Marshalls.
