Tried returning a very large heavy item that was sent to us as a gift through a Target registry. Mel/Trainer was awful!!!! Several employees kindly tried to assist with the return (they were great and tried their best). Then Mel came to troubleshoot. The only resolution she came up with was to try to get me to accept a credit for less than was paid. She also insinuated the gift was from last year. I have the online return scanner code but it just wasn't working. I plan to tell everyone we know not to register at Target read more

My second favorite Target to visit in the area. Clean, spacious parking, not too much cross traffic, great selection, and reasonable prices. The prices here are not quite as cheap as Walmart across the street but you get a choice of slightly more upscale items. When comparing the price of staples, the prices are comparable for bread, milk, soap, etc. Clearance items are not quite as cheap as the discounts aren't as deep (and sometimes not comparable since it's often on target store-brand). The store never seems to be too crowded and items are logically arranged. In store signs and displays are attractive and checkout lines aren't too long. The Starbucks inside is a nice added touch, with a fairly good selection of products and barista who makes drinks fairly quickly. Overall, great source of high quality goods at reasonable prices in Wheeling. read more

I have some mixed emotions about Target. I'll say this store in particular, is always very clean and orderly. I've always found the employees very pleasant and helpful. If you gave a question, you can always find someone on the floor to ask. They are always very well stocked. It's very rare to find them out of a product. When it comes to Target, the one area I waiver in is their pricing. I do find them overly expensive. They do have a much wider selection of clothing than a competing big box store, however, they charge three times the price for basically the same thing you could buy cheaper across the street. read more

Last week after closing, Trey was gathering the carts in the dark parking lot, and two separate times, one customer a senior citizen came out with a very heavy bag in her cart, he left his carts and walked over to ask if he could help to load the bag in her car. The second customer had these huge cartons, and he also asked if he could help. This young man deserves a huge pat on the back. Keep up the great work. This target is very clean and has very nice staff, but all around this target is on the struggle bus. No matter what day of the week or what time it is, they are constantly stocking shelves and those big carts are in your way. They are also usually behind schedule with holiday items being stocked. The day after Halloween the target on Arlington Heights had already put out Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff. This one is still flipping the store 2 weeks later. The produce and fresh food section is a very small as well. read more

Staff is ignorant, if you happen to feed your family with wic. Don't come here. The guy didn't even scan the check and was telling me everything I had was unwicable. I ALWAYS COME TO THIS LOCATION. I get the same stuff almost every time. And it clearly marked. He refused to scan my items to check. Last day to use. I guess I won't be feeding my family tonight. The parking is wide that is why I did not have a hard time parking my car. Just like a typical Target location this location is big, wide, clean and spacious. Since I went here almost a day before Christmas there was quite a lot of people inside but no worries because the store is super big that I did not able to have a contact with anyone. The selection of groceries is well stocked and well organized. I did not plan to have my groceries in here but I think that it would be better to save time and also because the prices of the products in here are reasonable and almost the same with the grocery store in my location. I also search for new clothes. The items they have are fine, has a good quality and just literally the same that I can get in a mall. I personally like the designs of their scarfs and the prices is also reasonable so I bought two of it. I got a bit tired and there is a Starbucks inside so I got myself a coffee first. The barista is nice and friendly and she is fast there is an available seat and I finished my coffee first before heading to the checkout. I was also able to check out quickly thanks to the efficient and friendly staff in there. I like this Target location and I will definitely be back! read more

I'm not too big on zombies or playing out zombie apocalypse scenarios (though I'll admit that if The Walking Dead does anything to hurt Daryl I'll flip my f*cking sh*t), but this would be THE place to stock up... and not just because it's Target and the greatest store ever, but for many reasons, of which I'll do my best to outline below. ** Parking lot was surprisingly easy to maneuver on a Friday afternoon. Almost had a deserted look to it. The Target by where I live on a Friday afternoon is not unlike the 7th cirlce of hell, so my first visit to this Wheeling location was pretty much a walk in the clouds. ** Not a super Target because they don't have the deli area and all that jazz, but it's got to be bigger than other regular Targets because they have so much more stock than regular Targets -- on everything! Cleaners, food, sales, PET SUPPLIES. At least double to triple the variety and quantity of each product than the other area Targets. ** They don't have the same sale items as the Target in my area, but their clearance items appeared to be of much better quality. They weren't all vitamin bottles that had been previously purchased, opened, returned and repacked and at a really lame 20% off sale (which is bullshit, btw). They actually had some decent stuff out there, though most was still out of my price range, at least it wasn't stuff that I'd feel like the FDA would scoff at me buying. ** Because this Target appears to have a bit more space, the apparel sections aren't all backed up ass to ass. Here, you can actually take a cart through. ** Not at all busy on the inside either. I actually saw a surplus of employees in the store, so much so that they'd wait by the register area and anytime they saw more than two people waiting to check out at any register, they'd open the next register and move the following customers through. ** Bonus points for their $1 spot carrying creepy crawly books for kids on ticks, bed bugs and other blood-sucking, infestation-type species (see photos). I totally blew $3 to have those as 2013 keepsakes. THIS is how a Target should be (but with more sales on cat food and litter items, of course). When the next Outbreak-type scenario occurs, I know where I'll be headed to stock up goods. read more

This is my local Target that I frequent. They've recently done some rennovations to update the store a bit. There's a small but significant grocery area now. Prices are pretty decent. I think it's one of the larger stores. I know where everything is at this location, so i tend to come to this one the most. It's always very clean and bright. This store is taken care of. DO NOT BUY target brand PACKING TAPE unless you want to be driven crazy. Such a cheap, crappy product: it instantly rolls back on itself so you're left picking away at it- super-thin, can't get a solid edge to lift up so you're wasting basically 1/2 of what you've bought trying to unspool it. Save yourself the bother and spend a little more to get the real deal: scotch tape. Or probably any brand of packing tape other than this. read more

This is the best grocery store in this area of Wheeling. Target is really amazing! Their store is full of quality items, meats, veggies, fruits, canned goods, dairies, snacks, and others. All of their items is worth the price and affordable. You can find anything you need here, all the items that we need in our daily essentials, and those things that we did not actually know that we need. They have so many interesting products and even imported items. This store is well-maintained and well-stocked. The whole place is organized, the items are perfectly aligned, and you can easily find everything you need. They also have signage and with that we can easily go to different departments they have. Target is really awesome. Their staff here is also great. All of them are helpful, attentive, friendly, nice, and very decent. They are always willing to help and assist their customers. Guide the customers all around the place and even helping the customers to find what they need. They are very personable. The only problem with their store is the long lines and the process in cashiers. Maybe because so many people are really love their place and keep visiting again and again. Target is very accessible. Their place is so easy to find and near. You can visit anytime you want. But I suggest to go at this place earlier to avoid long lines. Target is everything! Terrible manager!!! I can't even confirm that she was a manager because she was not wearing any target apparel but the way she she stood at the front of the store asking if we purchased our items (INSINUATING THAT WE WERE TRYING TO STEAL) made it seem like she owned the place!!! Not to mention the question was directed to my friend who is not white. My friend no longer feels comfortable coming to this location! I am disgusted by the way the manager acted and I feel bad for the employees that have to deal with her! read more

Oh Target, clearly pronounced Tar-jey, because anything that sounds French-like just seems better. Have been coming to this newer store for a few years since it opened and it totally beats its competition across the street by a mile. What I love about this store is that it's always calm, no matter what hours of the day I go to, it's never overflowing with people, the shelves are always packed and I'm always hunting for some good deals on good ol' toilet paper...a necessity clearly. The staff working here seems to always be friendly, if I ever can't find something, someone is always here to help me in my way. So here are the list of why this is my fave Target location in BG. -close to home, so major convenience factor -always super clean and kept up -i love their up to date decor/supplies for all the upcoming holidays! Go easter right now! -this store always has everything I need in stock, and usually for a better price than its competition Will come back here for years to come, it's my minor retail therapy without the gucci price tag. The food selection is not comparable to other stores, but I tend to come here since the parking lot is large and it's easy to get in and out of. Maybe I'm still bitter about the renovations a few years back when I was expecting a huge marketplace with fresh foods including options to pick up for lunch, ready to go. It's always very creepy quiet, never a lot of people there, and the silence drives me nuts! They do have an excellent selection of Jewish holiday items though. This isn't a Super Target, but it has everything you'll need, especially now that it sells produce and groceries. I did find out that their clearance section wasn't as great as other Targets. A friend of mine bought a outdoor furniture set on clearance for $50 and over a month later it's still full price for $200! Not sure why this is, but when I asked..they said something along the lines of sometimes Target put things on sale based on location. Not sure what that means.. All well..Targets always convenient to me and things are laid out neatly. read more

I come here specifically because I HATE Walmart (I have NEVER had a good experience there. You can never find anyone to help you, and the managers are horribly rude, and there's ALWAYS backed up lines that take forever to get through. Finally, good luck finding anyone in that store who works there AND speaks ENGLISH!!!). I am usually able to find what I need at Target, and if I can't or I have a question on something I can usually find someone fairly quickly and they're always pleasant and always willing to help. I even had TWO managers once who tried to locate an item in the back which was not on the shelves. It took them a long time because they were searching every nook and cranny in the back area trying to locate it. If they still can't find it, they issue me a store credit for it. If I need to return something (like once I got a food item home which was supposed to have been sealed, and I pulled the lid off and the seal was broken and half the container had been eaten! GROSS!) and they took it right back, no questions asked! Items are pretty reasonably priced. Now, yes, as others have pointed out, they never have enough registers open, BUT, if lines get too backed up, I've seen them open up another register to try and help customers pay for their items so they can be on their way more quickly. So, if you want to get treated badly, and never find what you need because nobody is willing to help you, go across the street to Walmart. If, on the other hand, you want to be treated with respect and find good quality items and get what you need, come to Target! read more

This Target store is my Target I go to most often and like all Target stores its pretty much your one stop shop for pretty much everything you need in the house. One thing I love about Target stores in general is that they have so many different products that I often times find myself spending hours in the store just looking at the different inventory they carry. Since I am also new Illinois its nice to have a store that I'm familiar with and also take comfort in. All in all its a great Target store and I found most of the workers and staff there to be very friendly and helpful so if you need any house hold supplies and are not to far away from this Target, I would recommend you come here and browse around for whatever it may be that you need. read more

Three stars because the guy in front of the store checking to make sure that customers come in wearing masks wasn't even wearing his mask! It was pulled down to not cover his nose and was like this the entire time I was in the store. Really disappointed that they are not taking safety seriously right now. It was just that one employee - all the others were great and deserve five stars - but it's hard to have confidence in the store when this is literally what welcomes you as you walk inside. I love target. The staff there is great and helps when needed. (just look for the red shirt!) The layout is easy to follow and there are many types of products all throughout the store. It is kept clean and organized. There is also a place to eat and get drinks whether you want coffee or pizza. The following describes a typical checkout experience at this Target store where they have installed self checkout lanes. - You walk up to the checkout lanes with a cart full of items to find that the manager has just closed all but one lane (e.g. to force people to use the self checkout lanes). - Standing in a long line at the only lane that is open more people walk up and the line grows. The manager seeing the huge line opens two more lanes were everyone behind you runs over to the now open lanes. - While you are putting your merchandise on the belt you notice people who were behind you have already checked out and are heading for the door.... - The women in front of you has pulled out her phone and starts scanning in all of her merchandise into the Target app so that she can get a discount. The Target employee lets this go on, instead of telling her next time do that while you are putting things into the basket. You watch more people that were behind you heading for the door having paid for their purchases.... - Finally you get to the register and the attendant starts ringing up your merchandise, while giving you a hard sell to get a Target credit card. You are so irritated with just being there you don't notice that your coupons were never rung up and conveniently the attendant has put them in a Target bag along with your merchandise apparently due to the fact selling you a Target credit card was more important. - At home you realize that you have your coupons and even with cost of gas it is worth driving back to the Target to get them taken off your bill. - Walking out of the store after getting get coupons taken off your bill you see the Walmart across the street and wonder how anything could be worse at Walmart.... Is the profitability of this store so poor as to make it worth the games with the checkout lanes? read more

The worst target in the world. Sadly it's the one closest to my house. When I lived near the rosemont location I shopped at target at least 3 times a week now I dread even coming here. I have accidentally purchased several expired items from this location. I don't feel I should have to check the date on every item when I shop, who has time for that? BE CAREFUL OF FRAUD BY EMPLOYEES AT THIS TARGET STORE!! I was blatantly defrauded by an employee at this store and despite multiple attempts to resolve it with the store managers, their guest relations and their Head Office, they simply will not do anything about it. I was probably the last customer out of the store at 9:58pm and after I was done, the checkout clerk said $80 something dollars, which made sense since that was about what I had bought. I signed the signature pad, but the check-out clerk didn't give me a receipt. She just looked at me with a weird smile and stood there. I thought that maybe she put it in the bag and since the store was closing, I rushed to leave. Later I saw a $167+ bill on my credit card. After reporting to Target several times and disputing it with the credit card company, I received a copy of the bill. I had bought about 8 items, but this bill had a long list of small grocery items totally $167, where only the first 8 items were mine. The store clerk had somehow manged to get my signature, yet ring up numerous items that I didn't purchase. It was not just one expensive item, there were several between 9:59 and 10:01pm. Since the receipt is there, the credit card company won't do anything about it. And Target won't do anything about it. SO THE FRAUDULENT EMPLOYEE IS STILL WORKING AT THE STORE, PROBABLY DOING OTHER ILLEGAL STUFF, WHILE TARGET DOES NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. read more
