I hadn't been here in a while and decided to drop by to pick up a yoga mat. It was newly remodeled and looked extremely clean ! I was honestly very surprised because I had driven up to the store with little to no expectations. Of course, since they keep it so nice and clean, the deals aren't as sweet as shopping at Ross. BUTT, you do get to feel like your shopping luxuriously at not-so-luxurious prices, so I'm not really complaining. The only thing that I had a problem with at this store was one of the check out ladies. She was quite loud and obnoxious. NOT something I want to be around after a long day at work. She had stuck a "QUEEN" mattress sticker onto her name tag and when I came up to register, she decided to tell me the story of how it came to be. I wasn't particularly interested in hearing her story, but did so anyway since I was just going to be standing there anyway until she finished ringing me up. She went on to tell me that she had originally wanted to write "QUEEN BITCH" on her name tag, but her manager told her it was too unprofessional and not appropriate. Well DUHH ! WTF. Why would you think it wasn't ?! I mean, really? Then after telling me that ridiculously stupid story, she turned into a "sales maniac" practically forcing me to sign up for a TJ Maxx credit card. If I said "NO." the first 7 times, I am not going to change my mind the next 15 times. Thank you very much. (And no, I'm not exaggerating, she LITERALLY asked me THAT MANY TIMES. I was extremely irritated by that. It made the store feel THAT much cheaper.) As I write this, I feel the need to subtract 1 more star just because re-capping my experience today has made me aggravated all over again. Grrrr... This is the only TJ MAXX I have ever been to so I don't know if it's better or worse than the others. I am ALL about bargain shopping (woo hoo!) so this place is perfect for someone like me! I always enjoy rummaging through the non-clothing sections because there are so many random things that I'd totally buy if I had more money and less self-control. For instance, there were some crock pots, pilates matt/bag sets, and IPOD Nano covers that peaked my interest. I don't need ANY of those things (heck, I can't cook, I am NOT flexible, and I don't even own an IPOD!!!!), but it was nice to know that if I had wanted them, they would have been mine. To all you high rollers reading this, there are some brand name items to be had. For instance, today I saw a couple of Dooney & Burke bags (original retail price ~$500) for about $240 each. For someone like me, even though it's a "bargain", I still cannot afford it. Nonetheless, it's good to know that if I ever feel the need to splurge on an out-of-season D&B bag, I will always have trusty TJ MAXX. I remember one of my cousin picking up a COACH messenger bag here for about $200 many years ago. -1 one star because they don't really have any clothes in my size, but they do have a wide selection for my friends and family. =] And if you don't find anything to your liking, there are a couple of shops next door that sells cute clothes. read more

One of my favorite TJ Maxx locations. Lots of great stuff, all available for cheap, reasonable prices (compared to retail). They always have a lot of the good stuff (Coach bags, name brand shoes, etc.), but this location seems to be pretty busy, so the good stuff sells out fast. Just visited last night with my boo and he boyfriend bought a Burton backpack and was very surprised to find snowboarding gear (gloves, helmets, etc.) available. I bought 5 different pairs of leggings/tights/pantyhose. A couple weeks ago, I bought a pair of Steve Madden Maddiee's here for $40, which retail for $110. Since it's nearing the holidays, their hours have changed to accommodate shoppers and they have plenty of new gift merchandise such as toys, perfume, make-up, etc. If you're lucky and you really pay attention and dig around, you'll find great deals at this location. And it's true when their slogan says, "It's never the same place twice." read more

I used to come here to make all my purchases for work clothes and Halloween costumes. It's great for both! Well... it's not where you actually buy the pre-made costumes... I like to get hands on with my costumes, so I get cheap shirts, pants, belts, pillows, etc. and make them myself. It's efficient and cheap! Now to the more traditional... work clothes... it's great for that too and it's cheap... cheaper than conventional department stores and who's going to notice anyways? Save the cash to grab a bite and get your clothes here... I usually do. Just a forewarning though... the place can get a little messy at times because most of their stuff are irregulars and people get sherlock all over the racks trying to find their sizes. Not the BEST store ever, but if you take your time and look through the clearance.. you do find some pretty awesome steals. I think the normal marked items are still pricey (call me cheap, but i prefer frugal)... so you'll find me digging through the racks looking for red clearance tags. I recently found some nice shirts ranging from $7-$20. If i'm willing to spend $20 for a shirt at F21, the clothes here are considerably cheaper and of better quality (of course this depends on the brand too). I went to Marshall's a few days later and found the same shirts I purchased but more expensive.. so I definitely think this TJ Maxx is worth going to. I love this place. Moms done got me hooked on it a couple of years ago. You have to really dig sometimes, but it's worth it. I used to not care about TJ Maxx and used to high-tail it over to the nearby Sanrio store instead. But then Hello Kitty stuff started to get all homogenized and not as insane as it used to be. Now I don't bother, really. I LOVE TJ Maxx. I have found so much cool stuff here. Sigh. The Little Prince (as in the book!) perfume. Martha Stewart Cooking School cookbooks for $10; same ones Macys sells for $40! Betsy Johnson belts and other atrocities. Waterford Crystal by Marc Jacobs. Cynthia Rowley stuff. Fred kitchen doo-dads. Knife sets by laguiole! ALICE IN WONDERLAND TEAPOTS! And, yes, I have been known to buy food from here now and then. There is a employee here name Max, yes I said "Really?" when I saw that. He was very nice about something he probably hears every day. Parking: Park farther away to avoid "Guppy" traffic. The Bad: The fitting rooms need a cleaning. There are dust bunnies and hair. I don't mind too much, but it doesnt feel good to be in there after a while. The Good: The store is organized and usually neat. Shoes are together (unlike Ross where you often cant find a matching pair during a weekend!) and clothing on hangers. The employee in the dressing room was nice as well. She let me leave some items I wanted to buy with her because I didn't have a cart. I came to TJ Maxx to look for baby shower gifts at a bargain price. My cousin told me she got her JJ Cole car seat covers and other baby needs at her TJ Maxx. I thought great! I found tons of baby items from diaper changing kits, car seat covers, swaddle blankets, clothes, etc. I walked around the store and even found Pak It freezer lunch bags. That will be useful for keeping milk bottles cold. The employees are very helpful and told me they would be receiving a new shipment in when I couldn't find an item. I had a great experience. I purchased candy there and it tasted really bad. I wasn't sure of the return policy so I called and asked the agent if I was able to return the item even if I opened it. She said yes, come in and bring your receipt. I went there the next day and waited in a long line. When I finally got yo the counter, the cashier said I couldn't return it. She asked her manager and she said no too. I told them I called first to confirm if i was able to return the item and I was told I could. Long story short, I got turned away, wasted an hour of my day going out for nothing. The staff needs to trained better and not make customers go through all that hassle for nothing. I'm still very irritated that I did all that when I could've just stayed home safely and enjoyed my weekend. read more

This store is a higher end Ross. The store is usually clean and items are easy to find. Last time I was here, I was able to find what I was looking for. I got myself a 4 plate and bowl Ralph Lauren sets at very reasonable prices. This was a pleasant surprise, as I didn't expect to find anything that I'd want. Oh, and to make things better, there was no line at check out and the cashier was extremely friendly. She was courteous and efficient. I love it when I'm able to find what I want and be able to be in and out of the store in less than half an hour. read more

They usually have a decent selection for a decent price. The clearance is pretty good, but good luck finding something that doesn't make u look too trashy, aka the juniors dept. Great selection of clothes, shoes, and home/kitchen. Probably the cleanest TJ Max store here. Parking is not bad. Inside lighting is great and not too crowded not too much space. My favorite is their home/kitchen section because of their nice affordable items that help personalize & organize your home. The only bad experience is with the fitting room. I think the lady's name is Olivia. She's way too strict & makes the experience not so great or comfortable. She needs to smile or just have a more positive attitude. TJ Maxx is the old standby when it comes to finding a good deal. My favorite sections of the store are handbags and kitchen ware and gourmet foods/snacks. They often have some hidden gems in the food section, like organic cookies and coconut butter. It's just one aisle but they have tons of stuff densely packed, so you have to spend some time looking at the back of the shelves and moving stuff around to find stuff. But when you do, it's definitely a deal and nothing is wrong with the products except it's probably just overstock from Whole Foods or something. There's usually lots of parking, although the spaces are small. The line moves pretty quickly as well. read more

I love shopping at Tj Max my only gripe is that a lot of their "clearance" items are pretty much trash in my opinion and should not be for sale. For example they have crushed eyeshadow palettes with most if not all of the powder missing for $4. Why would anyone even buy that?? They really should clean and go through their clearance section, and ask them selves as they're cleaning would I like to buy this? Hmmm no okay trash...seriously. It gives the store a bad look. I'm upset over this because I nearly twisted my ankle when I slipped on soap that had leaked from a broken "clearance" bottle. read more

Came here while waiting for a friend who was running late to our boba date and was pleasantly surprised! Agree with the other shoppers that the prices aren't mind-blowing, but loved the vast selection and ease of looking through inventory. Was able to find a cute hi-lo maxi dress for $28. Lots of dress options for those of you still in the thick of wedding season! Also saw a couple darling Kate Spade and Michael Kors wallets here ($70 a pop!). Came here to try and find good deals on furniture for my home. Luckily i was able to swing by right when they opened. I found this gorgeous grey sofa chair for such a great deal. It's quite big so i wandered around the area thinking an associate would be on the floor. Wrong. I couldn't find anyone to save my life and i wasn't going to wander far just in case someone wanted to snag my chair! Then some short hispanic girl came out the employee break room. I kindly asked if i could get some assistance but her response was ".....uh i'm off". Really? You couldnt even say "i'm so sorry but i'm clocked out. No problem though, i'll find someone to help you!". That was what i was looking for. No effort for customer relations at all. So i waited another minute or two and saw this other associate pulling a big bin. I asked her for help and guess who she calls to help her carry the sofa chair to the front checkout???? The dumb bitch that told me she was off lmao. Oh jeez, how stupid did she look. Followed them to the front to pay for my chair. I told the cashier i was going to pull up my car and if anyone can help me put it in. She said yeah just pull up. I pull up my suv, walk into the store and stood there like an idiot. Asked the cashier if i could take the chair already and she said yeah go ahead and take it. Wtf? You had two people pull that shit up to the front so why did you expect me to do it by myself! I couldnt even take it anymore. So i carried it out struggling my ass off by myself. When i got to my car, a nice passerby asked if i needed help getting it into my car! Praise the lord. He knew what i was going through. Honestly i said yes please! I'm dying lol. He even asked how come noone in the store helped me! That's a good question. Why didn't anyone assist me TJMAXX? Fucken piss that i had that type of customer service. Nothing but a bunch of lazy workers here that mingle amongst each other. Before the discovery of the TJ Maxx on Lake Ave, Pasadena, this is the default TJ Maxx that I would go to for almost everything! Usually here for iphone & ipad electronic items and covers. Oh! I get all my workout clothes here, so cheap! Adidas, Nike, Everything here is great! You can get branded name products that are in good quality for an affordable price, why not! This TJ Maxx however, is not as big compared to the one on Lake and it's a bit messy. Their electronics section is not as extensive as the one in Pasadena. Service is great. I would swing by this TJ Maxx whenever I am around the area. Parking is plentiful. You can also shop at Daiso after! read more

See a lady who works here in the isle and ask if she moved it anywhere She looks at me with a blank stare I tell her since you have been in this isle and obviously work here did you or someone you work with take my slacks? More confusion so I start searching around and getting really angry ... I even open the door to what I guess is the dressing room for the employees no luck Run back to the mens section and scour the isles and racks in both sections - no luck Nice girl sees me all frantic and asks if she can help Tell her my story and bamm 3 mintues later she finds them and hands them back to me ... They were just taken to the front Now why couldn't the person who was in that isle the whole time just tell me that!!?!? Either way what could have needed ugly ended up great .. Who knew TJ Maxx could be so dangerous... in a good way!! My girlfriend and I decided to drop in after having a huge lunch. Gotta walk off those calories right? What better way to do it than to SHOP! I did not expect to spend over 2 hours in here. Anyway this store has such good deals. We shopped a variety of sections including beauty products (face, skin, hair, nails... they have ESSIE!!!!! I LOVE ESSIE!), clothing (athletic), home goods, kitchen goods (a huge variety of cute stuff!)... They have good brand items here. I really like their selection on skin creams at a great deal... 50% off! I also love their Tupperware. They carry Sistema... It is so cute! I am always buying more Tupperware, even though I don't need more. The athletic section is pretty good, saw brands like Reflex by 90 degrees, Under Armor, Reebok, Marika Tek. It is easy to buy random things that you don't really need, but this store is definitely worth visiting. You'll probably spend too much time and too much money here! clearance section, clearance section! that's the first isle i'll run to when i go to tj maxx. they have such good deals. just fyi, not all food on the clearance section have expired. and of cox look at the expiration date if you are gonna buy it. last time i went there, i saw 2 bottles of pickles that expired in 2007. yea. so..dun buy it unless you want some diarrhea. but there are of cox some great stuff there, like godiva hot chocolate mix for 30c each, salsa for a buck, leopard soap dispenser for 2 bucks. i bought a basket load of stuff and it only cost me 10 bucks. read more

This T.J. Maxx is located in a mini mall area and on the weekends it is impossible to find parking. If you're a purse hoochie like me, this is the T.J. Maxx for you! They have a decent array of purses and I have found some really good deals here. Believe you me, if you don't get it when you see it, it won't be there the next time you go back to get it when you finally realized what a great deal it was in the first place. I have also found some nice sterling jewelry pieces. They have a good bedding and home accessories section. They always seem to have a lot of clearance stuff throughout the whole store, so if you like to look you might just score. Their shoe section is so-so unless you're a size 5 or a size 10.
