It was flavorful and paired well with the guacamole. I stay away from chicken tacos because they're usually shredded, so i was surprised and delighted when i saw the chicken chunks marinated and juicy!!!! The place was quiet, clean and inviting. We saw this place advertised all over TikTok and decided to stop by to try a taco. We ordered two carne asada tacos and a mango drink. Unfortunately, the tacos were disappointing. The tortillas appeared to be store-bought street-style tortillas, soggy, cold, and had black grill marks that gave off a burnt taste. The carne asada itself was bland, and there was very little meat. They did offer four different salsas, which was a nice touch, but it wasn't enough to save the tacos. My boyfriend rated this as the worst taco he's ever had and couldn't even finish a bite. The service was okay. The tacos took about 10-15 minutes to come out despite there being no one else in the store, which was surprising for such a simple order. The mango drink tasted good at first, but after a while it developed an off taste -- almost as if the drink machine isn't cleaned as thoroughly as it should be. Overall, we feel we fell into the hype. With a B rating in restaurant cleanliness (per the health inspector) and a 1/10 experience for us, we won't be returning. I'm really wanting to add 1more star cause this place is CERTIFIED DELICIOUS!! The name TJ to me means Tijuana Mexico since I'm from San Diego the flavor of the tacos/ the fresh corn tortillas are a BIG YES for me!! It's located in a plaza that was kinda hard to find so I had to GPS to be sure. The prices are a bit higher than what's in the area for the size of the taco which is close to $4 per. This place is spotless/ with red table & chair seating to match the restaurant. The menu has lots to choose from burritos, vampiros, pollo mulas, nachos along with aquas fresca to drink. The female cashier is very sweet and brings your food to your table if eating inside. Just stopped in to try it today. I will definitely come back to try more menu items. read more

Went for Valentine's Day got 2 asada tacos, 1 asada Vampiros and 1 asada Mulas. Tacos were absolutely delicious and the tortilla was homemade. The tortilla was tender and flavorful itself! The meat was devious and simple. There were a few pieces of meat that had chewy connective fat but other than that I have no complaints. The flavors were straightforward and fresh! I got the adobada tacos which were pretty decent and I liked the seasoning on the pork. The tortillas were also good. My main complaint is the nachos as they had the canned liquid cheese on them that tastes extremely artificial. Being a Tijuana style Taqueria I was a bit disappointed seeing the nachos. Along with that the guac was a bit watery, I am not sure if it was from a bag or not made fresh. We visited TJ Street Tacos on Sunday January 12, 2024. We arrived at 2:30 PM, two and a half hours after opening and the place was packed. Ordering process was quick and efficient but we waited 45 minutes for our food. The carne asada tacos were very good...the adobada tacos left something to be desired. Adobada by definition is spicy pork, this was not spicy at all. These were the only two items we were able to try as they ran out of food at 3:00 PM even though they were supposed to be open until 10:00 PM. On a scale from 1 to 10, the asada tacos were an 8.2, the adobada a 5.1. Not quite up there with Tacos El Gordo, IYKYK. read more
