It was a cool mexican restaurant. It's only like 10 min from where I love so I will definitely be back for sure. We had the tacos. We had 3 carne asada and 3 carnitas. They were so good. We also ordered the lunch special 2 enchiladas with rice and beans, as well as the guacamole. I also had a large horchata. Let me tell you that horchata so good.. Torta Asada was very dry and burnt. Do not recommend it at all and i hope they work on that because used to be much better.

The manger in charge of the kitchen or who ever is in charge of the kitchen just focuses on the bigger plates such as the molcajete and the every other meal. Good reviews led us to this small, popular hole-in-the-wall and we were so glad! The restaurant is pretty small but clean and neat with simple decor. It was fairly busy when we arrived at 4:15 pm and became more so. We were waved to a booth and menus, chops and salsa followed us there. My hubby was very hungry while I was only peckish. He ordered the chicken fajitas and I ordered 2 tacos (asada and carnitas) with a side of Guacamole. A margarita would have been nice, but they only served beer along with soft beverages, so we had water. The chips were crisp and tasty and the salsa was good. My small side of guacamole came out first and it was pretty large - served in the same size bowl as our salsa. It was tasty - full of cilantro, onions, and lime. My husband received a huge platter of grill chicken fajitas with onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms (also grilled). This was accompanied by flour tortillas and a side plate of rice, refried beans, guacamole, and salad. He decided these were the best fajitas he has ever had in Georgia! My tacos were well-filled and delicious - the meats were seasoned and grilled perfectly (and not fatty). They also provided two hot sauces - a red chile and a green tomatillo/hot pepper - which were yummy! The whole meal was only $23 before tax and tip - very reasonable and economical!! Some of their dishes are spicy so don't say you haven't been warned. They may have up to 3 waiters but, they're always checking on you to make sure everything is great. I have been at this restaurant many times for lunch and really enjoyed their food, great tasting food at fair prices. Today, 1/27/2026 I went to have dinner with my daughters and had the worse experience ever!. We were standing 15 minutes by the front door waited to be seated but nobody came up, actually I asked to please be seated.....what a bad start!. We sat and waited another 20 minutes and nobody came to us till I asked to see the menu, waited another 20 minutes for someone to take our orders, waited another 20 for food to arrive, our waitress did not come to our table at all to ask if everything was okay. After we finished eating I waited another 20 minutes but waitress didn't even come around to hand me the check, I actually had to go to the register and asked this older rude slim man if check was given to me or if I could pay there "his answer was...can you see were very busy, go back to your table and ask your server".......wow! how disrespectful is that answer. The restaurant was 1/3 full, they should have gave me better service in adequate time. My wife and I came several years ago when prior to their expansion and had a great dining experience. This time the chips were very stale as was the hard taco shell I had with my meal. While dining I saw a worker walk by carrying a 44 gallon trash barrel full of their house tortillas chips. Pretty sure the don't make them there and no wonder they were stale. It's a tiny space but when the majority of the customers are Mexican, then you know you've stumbled into the RIGHT place. My god this place is amazing. This is probably the best taco joint in Duluth. Right next to Scissorhands in front of Hmart, it's a small but cute little place. It's almost always busy too, but the servers are so friendly and you can tell they genuinely care about the restaurant. We've only ever had the tacos here and up until about a month ago, you could still get a taco for less than $2. Most were $1.75-$1.95 which is insane considering how much meat they pack inside. When they went up to $2.25 each, I was honestly happy. They're worth even more than that. Tacos with the pastor (pork) meat are the best in my opinion but my husband will get the steak, tripe, and lengua (tongue) as well. The meat is just cooked perfectly. JUICY and TENDER, packed with flavor. They're simple tacos: double corn tortilla, onion, cilantro, lime but what more do you need? The freshness is unreal. Get the GREEN sauce. They have both green and red salsa. Both spicy but the green is just straight fire, in the best possible way. Calling for a to go order can be tricky around rush hour because they're just so busy and there isn't really a dedicated host/phone answerer but it doesn't matter. Just show up and wait. A *fire* hole in the wall taco joint. Recently this place has been extremely busy so prepare for crowds as it's a small space. I got the ceviche tostada and a bunch of the various tacos to try. We came around 6pm on a Wednesday and it was a very nice environment, very peaceful, music on but not too loud just softly playing. Our servers were very welcoming and the service was really good since they kept making sure we were doing okay! The supreme fajita nachos were DELICIOUS! Very good portions of food! The taquitos plate was also delicious, the flavor of the chicken taquitos was good, they weren't too crunchy and not soft they were just right! Asked for guacamole on the side and it did not disappoint! Only thing I'd add is more limon. We also had an agua de Jamaica and it was really good! I've been on a Chilaquilas kick and have a hard time ordering anything else when I see these on the menu. They did not disappoint! I was warned by two different employees that they are spicy,and they were, but that's how I like it. I've had chilaquilas at some places that have an egg or two on top but this batch did not. If they did, I think they would have been perfect. My daughter had the chicken tacos and they were a bargain for $1.75. The horchata was one of the better ones we've had. Love love love! This is a small restaurant that is located in a small strip mall. We could tell when we entered this is a local favorite. After seeing the reviews, I knew this was our place. The chips and salsa were spot on! Loved it! We ordered and I had Carmen asade and my son had the fajita quesadilla. Service was super quick and the prices were super reasonable. There are only about 10 tables in this place and they were all full. There are not fountain drink options just bottled. Also, you pay at the counter, they do not bring you a ticket...it's weird they just know what you ordered. Just thinking about this place makes me wanna go back now. read more

As we were ordering, the waiter walked off for whatever reason and came back to continue the order. The prices are a little high for the portions you receive. The food was very under flavored and took FOREVER to come out! And again, we were the only ones there. Everything came with either chicken or beef and we are vegetarians so we asked if we could get extra beans or grilled vegetables instead of meat and he was very confused by that statement. Once we got our check, we were charged $4.50 for a small plate of vegetables!! He did not substitute what we asked for and once we asked, he said he could not modify it. Masks don't seem to be an requirement, its a cramped, crowded space, and they seem like they're open for dine in at 100%. Or you can do what I do and do takeout and pick it up. Their food is ready fast. I tried their El Dorado enchiladas and a few of their tacos. How is their food? It's not bad. I liked it. The El Dorado enchiladas was quite spicy. It is covered in their Mocaljete sauce. It was good. Their tacos were all right. It seemed like they added a lot of different spices. But I felt like they didn't add enough salt. El Dorado, another spot I've neglected to do a review for but have been a frequent guest the last 5 years. My partner and I are regulars at this point and I think that shows how great the food is! There are key times to visit this spot because it gets packed...fast! 11-12 for lunch and 5-7 for dinner (geez I'm giving away trade secrets). Any time later than that you will be waiting for a while. The restaurant is tiny but it allows the servers to give you as much attention as they can and be efficient. They have a system and it works, the food is never cold, comes out quick, and is delicious every time! This visit, my partner and I were craving a Molcajete, steak, chicken, pepper, onion, tomato, and cheese quesadillas layered in a Molcajete dish (hence the name) filled with salsa and topped with strips of queso fresco and avocado! You get your choice of flour or corn tortillas to pair and we ordered a side of rice and beans. This dish can easily feed two people comfortably! Here's how this works, the molcajete dish is made out of Volcanic Rock so they put it on an open fire and let it warm up. Once everything is ready to go into the dish they flip it over add spicy salsa and layer everything in. It is then delivered to you for your enjoyment! Grab your quesadilla first because the molcajete is hot and the quesadilla will burn and stick to the sides. We paired our food with Aguas de mango and water. Our total was about $30. This is my favorite restaurant, and I've been coming here for 5 years. I am always wowed by the distinctive flavors in each dish. The prices are unbeatable. Although the FOH staff is limited, I typically receive my order within 20 minutes without any error. Their phone is not always turned on, which can sometimes be a bummer. However, they normally stick to their hours. The best dishes to order are: Steak, pastor, and chorizo tacos (w cilantro/onion) Always topped with queso Guacamole Burritos (comes w rice and beans) Chicken soup Tacos and queso can be microwaved and eaten the day after for a tasty breakfast (w an egg on the side). I remember my Korean friends raving how great their food is - only in the last few months did I finally check it out. Parents were visiting, Dad was tired of Korean food (b/c that's all he ever eats, he says), we were doing the usual "lets hit every Korean supermarket" in the area, and El Dorado came to mind when I tried to think of a non-Asian restaurant in the Pleasant Hill Rd area. Parents loved it, and said they'd go back for sure :) Dad is not a fan of dives, and I think most of my favorite Mexican joints on Buford Hwy are dives - but El Dorado is authentic w/o being divey so I knew he'd probably like it. 95 health score is nice to know, too. Perfect timing b/c we came during lunch - they have $5.50 lunch specials incl. rice, beans, and (un)sweetened ice tea. Parents got the chicken burrito which was really good - they use shredded chicken breast, not dark meat like most Mexican places. Rice & beans were very good, too. Both times I've come here, I've gotten the tacos - just $1.50 each. Authentic here - double corn tortillas, w/ chopped onions & cilantro. I've had the chicken and carne asada both times - both very good. Complimentary chips & salsa are good, too. Menu is pretty extensive so I definitely need to be better about trying their other dishes next time. Afterwards go next door to Suno for some shaved ice dessert. Let's get straight to the point here, Taco El Dorado is as legit as it gets when it comes to authentic Mexican food. I've been here a numerous amount of times and its been "muy bien" every visit. The restaurant itself is located on Pleasant Hill road in Duluth, GA just in front of the Super H Mart shopping plaza. Now for those of you who do not know, Pleasant Hill road is pretty much the new Korea town in GA and the fact that a Mexican restaurant in the heart of it is doing well says a whole lot. The menu here is very diverse, unless you're familiar with Mexican cuisine, there are a few items which you probably never ever heard of. Now that's not to intimidate anyone, but take a chance on stuff outside of the usual tacos, burritos, and nachos and you will not be disappointed. The best Mexican food I ever had was in California and I thought I would never find anything close to that. Of course that all changed when I discovered Taco El Dorado.
