Tacos a la carte: Lengua, Pastor, Quesabirria
    Rachel W.

Solid spot for tacos but still far from elite taco spots that I've had across the country. Probably one of the better spots I've tried so far in ATL. I've been on a quesabirria kick lately and was so happy that they offer them here and a la carte too. I also got a pastor and lengua taco a la carte. Of the 3 tacos, the pastor was probably the best, and the lengua was probably the least impressive. While the pastor was a bit oily, it had good flavor and was plentiful on the meat; in fact all tacos were plentiful on the meat, which I appreciate. The quesabirria was decent, but I wish the tortilla was more fried and crispier - I felt that the inside tortilla was essentially soft. The cheese that is used also isn't quite as good as other places I've tried - it doesn't seem to add much to the taco. The lengua to me tasted rather bland. If you order a la carte, each taco is around $4.25 which is a little steep in my opinion.

Can't believe I haven't been here before. We have been obsessed with Birria tacos for a while now. I saw someone mentioned that this was a good option in Duluth. It is in a rather inconspicuous appearing small shopping center. You can definitely tell it's authentic because there's a wide variety of Hispanic people and other ethnicities that were eating here around lunchtime when we came. Service is a countertop. Our cashier didn't speak much English, but we were able to get by with our rudimentary Spanish. Some of the other workers that speaks English fluently. They were promoting the birria ramen with two tacos. We definitely had to try that out especially on a cold winter day. The consummate was not as flavorful as I was used to but still very delicious and full of meat. Ramen was pretty standard. The tacos were delicious although there was a bit too much cheese from my liking. It's absolutely genius that they put the Ramen in the consummate just because there's no reason to ever waste it. it was fulfilling that I was able to be full after just one taco. I absolutely love the bar with variety of pickled vegetables. The variety including fresh limes, made it easier to eat the otherwise greasy food. Overall, very modest place, but definitely one of the better and more authentic restaurants I have seen in Duluth. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

Delicious and juicy birria quesa tacos. The birria broth was so tasty that I wanted to just drink it straight. The service was quick and helpful. Great place for friend and family hangout.

Now its in a strip mall, so you may miss it, but please do not sleep on El Indio! It's almost a hole in the wall kind of restaurant, nothing fancy to look at, but the food quality is over 9000! You will come in and there are probably less than 12 tables there. They have a small topping bar and plenty of TVs to watch soccer (which is on a whole lot). The service is good. They take your order and then they give you a vibrating puck so you have to wait around. Its a strip mall so you can walk around for a bit (but not too far). But once you get the food, thats when the magic happens lol. I have gotten the birria tacos and the birria quesadillas, and both have been amazing. In all fairness they are super similar, but still I love from here. The quesadillas come with things like sour cream and lettuce, and the tacos just come with the sauces. I add both of the hot sauces when I dip the tacos because I like the extra kick. I have never been disappointed. It's good and filling and has a LOT of flavor! I will get this from here ever, single, time!

The best birria you can get in Duluth. The pickle bar makes it tastes even better. My go to place for my birria fix.

Extremely fast and efficient service -- I received my food within 10 minutes. The quesadilla was tasty, although a tad bit too greasy and lacking some crispiness. Consomé was great, no complaints there.

I had been eating all kinds of stuff from Thursday on to celebrate Valentine's weekend, so for the actual day I just wanted something simple. I have really been wanting to try Birria tacos, so when I found out El Indio does them, I had to give them a try! I've been meaning to try this chain for awhile, and now I finally had a really good excuse to stop in. I ordered online ahead of time thru GrubHub for pick-up at 9:30 PM. Now I'm not sure where I read this, but somewhere said they close at midnight. Maybe this was true pre-COVID19 or at another location, but for a Sunday night, this place closes at 10pm. When I came to pick up my order, promptly at 9:30, everything was already mopped up and they were cleaning up the store. The workers weren't very warm as they probably wanted to get home to their families ASAP and thought I was coming in late to order - completely understandable of course, especially on Valentine's. I told the girl at the counter who I was picking up for and there was a bit of a language barrier, but another nice worker helped out in translation, so it was all good. When I got home, which is nearby, I could definitely tell they made the order early and it had been sitting for a little while as the tacos were a little soggy, but they still were excellent! The birria quesa tacos special is definitely going to be a repeat item for me - cheesy, meaty, flavorful, and not fatty at all like the barbacoa I had from El Taco Veloz 9 recently. I was very satisfied with this dish. The other thing I ordered was the caldo de res which came with corn tortillas, extra cilantro/lime/onion mix, and rice. Everything was very good and on par with Don Pedro in Norcross. I think El Indio and Don Pedro are my two new favorite Mexican restaurant chains in the area now. I would definitely order from this place again just possibly a little earlier in the day, since I know the close time now. I highly recommend the birria quesa tacos special, if you haven't tried them yet!

El Indio was one of the first restaurants I found in the North Atlanta Suburbs area that had birria when the tiktok craze first started, and they did not disappoint! I've tried various menu items such as the various tacos, tortas, and the birria stew during my visits, but they are definitely known for and are heavily advertising their birria quesa tacos with consomé, and for good reasoning, they're delicious! They don't skimp on the meat or cheese they put in those tacos, so don't wear tight pants. I always wear loose pants when I come here cause god damn. Seating is indoors only but plentiful, so even though it's always packed, there's usually an open table. The parking lot also always has spots. The service is quick, and you can kinda peek into the kitchen from behind the cash register. One time I had a new cashier in training who forgot an item on my order, but the chefs took care of the problem and whipped up my extra order item quickly and without question. Everyone is friendly, and no one winces at my butchered Spanish when I order, thanks :)

Looking at reviews from my fellow Yelpers I kept seeing a lot of talk about these Birria Tacos and I've tried them before in NJ but it was never a thing for me but I decided to give it another chance!! Oh boy where do I begin. I ordered the seafood Birria and beef Birria and then I noticed they had Birria Ramen so what other choice did I have ...The seafood was everything I wanted it to be and the seafood dipping consommé was rich and creamy I could've ate that all by itself. I didn't think the beef could compete but man I was wrong !! The beef was so tender and seasoned it was wonderful I didn't know which one I liked better and the condiments bar did not disappoint!! I was totally impressed and I will be back ...

I cannot believe the amazing fortune I had of being led to eat my first set of birria queso tacos with consome here in the ATL! So thankful for my friend who brought me here... It is out of this world good... the crunch of the melted cheese grilled unto the multilayered tortilla containing unbelievably flowing amounts of meat and cheese... When you take the straight off the grill taco and dip it into the consome... you don't have enough will power to wait for it to reach an edible temperature! I just chose to make the burnt tongue and roof of my mouth as part of this transcendent first experience! If you have never tried Birria tacos... you need to make your way to this taqueria with your friends and experience this amazing place! I can't and will never be able to give you a recommendation on the other things on the menu because I will NEVER eat anything else!

Small hole in the wall type of restaurant which I believe is a chain. I strictly went for their birria quesa tacos and I will say that they were not too shabby. Crunchy tacos with good flavor and a descent consome (dipping broth - kind of like when you have a French dip sandwich). I did not try anything else but seeing the dishes around me, it seems like a very typical Mexican restaurant with traditional dishes. Place is located in a corner of a gas station plaza and it is not too too big but you can still spot it from the side of the road.

I've been seeing Birria tacos all over social media and decided to finally give these a try. It seems like the internet has this place as one of the best in the area... I ordered the Birria Tacos which came with 3 beefy, melty, hearty tacos. Dipping sauce is a hot beefy broth with green onion and the zest of cilantro and red onion. I ate in the restaurant which is clean and simple. Clean tables, napkin holders on table and television playing a Spanish themed game show with some guy dressed in a dress talking about chocolate. LOL. Nonetheless, the tacos were delicious and served HOT. After I got to the 3rd taco I was waiting for some type of explosion of flavor when I realized I didn't ask for any hot sauce. It completely passed my mind. For that reason I need a do-over. lol... Total with tip was $18. I asked for a side of queso and chips but for some reason the clerk gave me a side of shredded cheese and no chips. I was stuffed after the 3rd taco and didn't even bother to advise about the mishap. I'll definitely be back.

Birria Quesa Tacos are supper delicious! This was my first time there. My family and I love it and will definitely be coming back.

The food was delicious and we be back. This was our first time there. It is super authentic and freshly made.

There were 8 of us total (4 adults and 4 kids). The food was great. Everything came out on time at the same time. Service was on top of it. Food tasted great. I had the birria tacos, my wife had the veggie fajitas, our friends had the blackened salmon tacos and the birria quesadillas. The restaurant has a fair number of TVs, which allowed everyone to have a view of the soccer match. Definitely have to keep this place in mind for other family dinner nights. We live on the other end of Johns creek, so often head to Senior Patrons or Seven Tequilas. Terrazas is definitely better quality food than both of those restaurants.

We were actually thankful to be at the bar b/c there were a lot of families (they deserve a night out too) with small children who had those high-pitched screams... hahahaha, our children are older, so we don't love that sound anymore.
