I've had it recently from the Patchogue location so this time I learned from experience and ordered DOUBLE chicken!!! 1 sandwich, little bag of chips, small iced tea and a cup of soup- $36. The sandwich was not double meat!!!! I was pissed. One person said "is this double meat!?"... visually see and hear the cook say "Yeah, sure... " with a basic IDGAF vibe. I should've ripped the sandwich open on the counter and Pop quizzed his judgement!!! But I have a LIFE and work on the road, on the go! I also paid $36 for my entire order- I shouldn't have to tell people how to do their jobs!!! You are the professionals, no!? It's oddly quiet in there with no communication or background music... IDK what happened to this place but all they do is pump out basic sandwiches. Never order double meat. You'll never get it. Save your money and make sandwiches from home. The whole purpose of these locations, restaurants, bars, bistros, cafe, coffee shops, etc... is to eat here DAILY and return more than once a month, am I right? Not feel like you're a burden or experience chinsy meals for high costs. We're all feeling it!!!! Not just local businesses. Today I picked up a large order for my office which was split up onto three separate checks. They were absolutely gracious about everything. And the order was perfectly separated and packaged. Someone I assume is the manager/owner saw me looking down at this massive order laid out on the counter and asked me if I needed a box, which was super perceptive of him because I was just about to ask for one. He seems like he's really present and on top of his business. Place is immaculately clean, love the e-menu board they have. Parking situation is a little weird and I wish they had more veggie/vegan options, but we order from here all the time and they've never messed anything up and everything is always delicious. TJ's has been around forever. I discovered it when my children were in high school over 25 years ago. The quality of the sandwiches has never wavered. The have a abundance of choices or your can have something made to order. My favorites are the Manhattan and the Cold Italian heros. When driving out east to meet up with some friends, we needed to grab something to eat on the way. My husband grew up with the Patchogue location. He introduced that spot to me and it's one of the ways I found my love of sandwiches. We thought this might be a good opportunity to check out this location. I am very glad we did as I we noticed they were pretty consistent with the Patchogue location. Not completely the same, but very close. At about 15 minutes out we called in our order. We got what we would usually get - for my husband it's the "Chicken Supreme" with chicken cutlet, American cheese, ham, lettuce and Mayo. For me, I got my "Super Club", which has turkey, ham, roast beef, bacon and I get the works on it! What makes this sandwich is the bread. I don't know where they get it from, but it's fluffy, tasty and just all around comforting. The only reason why this spot gets 4 stars instead of five is because I would have liked to see our sandwiches filled a bit more. Definitely still a great value, but just use to a bit more bang for our buck. The other thing we noticed is the chicken was slightly different then we are use to. Not bad in the slightest. Just different. My husband popped in and grabbed our sandwiches and an iced tea for me which was very delish. He said the service was nice and that our sandwiches were ready to go. I've been coming to Tjs for the last 12 years and boy they don't ever disappoint me. The consistency of the customer care, food and ambiance! So hear me out, you GOTTTTA get the chicken cutlet club with all the fixings. Personally I don't like the bacon on it so I replace it with extra mayonnaise ! Freshly prepared Italian bread, with a generous amount of cutlet and mayo with some of that lettuce. Mike and his staff have always been such a pleasure. Plenty of parking, clean dining room with plenty of seating. A wonderful menu and great new additions. The golden bbq hammer wings are out of this world. Love some of the originals hero's but always go back to the bbq boneless spare rib with mozzarella and extra bbq. The staff is friendly enough, the place looks clean and the sandwiches taste pretty good. Unfortunately they think it's a good business move to charge $15+ for a chicken hero and put $2 worth of chicken on it and also not include a pickle, side or a drink. I've had 2 chicken heroes here, and while they both tasted good, I was left with 1/4 of each sandwich as just chickenless, sauce covered bread. Seport deli, a famous deli in Setauket, is known for their expensive sandwiches that are stacked high with chicken cutless. I've always thought they should lower the price a bit and just put a little less chicken because honestly it's just TOO much chicken. TJ's, on the other hand, uses about 40% of the chicken that Seport does.. but charges the same price. Seport also includes a pickle and a side. Tj's has shown me that Seport isn't actually such a ripoff.. read more

I really want to love the sandwiches here. For breakfast they are excellent, but for lunch - I tend to be disappointed. They skimp on the protein / bacon. The salads are really just the same as the sandwich fixings, and often things are left off of or out of the order so you end up over paying. Still among one of the best around, and will due the job if your hungry, but don't expect to be blown away. read more

First timer here! This is one of the best hero spot in town! Decided last minute to stop in on a Saturday late afternoon, and good thing I did- they close around 6pm, and it was worth the stop. Service was great, friendly staff, didn't wait too long. When I arrived there weren't too many cars so I figured no one was there & it was going to be faster than it was, however I quickly realized that people had called and ordered prior to arriving. The place got busy quick. Choices were a bit overwhelming however I was hungry. They have breakfast, heroes, burgers, soup, chips-stocked on food. Prices were a bit high but totally worth it. 5.99 for half a hero, $10 for a whole. Also I bought $2 big bag of chips. Food quality was TOP of the line. I ordered the xcaliber with meatball & mozzarella. First bite was heaven, I ordered the whole hero and saved the other half for the next day. The meatballs tasted better the next day- maybe the spices soaked in but absolutely delicious. I also tried the lemonade & iced tea mix, was a little sweet but pretty good. I suggest calling ahead and check out the entire menu. Closed on Sunday I will be returning until I try everything on the menu read more

I used to go to the original TJ's. The small place in the corner across from pizza place. However the new one is nice. There is a lot of room to sit and enjoy the food. My favorite thing to order is s bacon,egg and cheese. The service is great. In all the years I've gone they have never messed up my order. That's hard to find.
