I've been going here more and more lately, a buck less than the competition and friendlier to boot; when they're on, they're on; good heros, good coleslaw, decent service... Tj's and My Hero have been feuding in the ranks for all my years growing up in the patchogue area, and I had Tj's up top for years, I'm at my hero 3 times a month minimum now. I barely hit TJs as they always seem to mess up my order and take no responsibility. Skip Quiznos, skip whatever crappy deli you've found in the area, My Hero wins! A few of my favorite sandwiches that keep me coming back despite Seaqua opening up on the other side of town are: The "Grand Slam" - I add chicken cutlet to this already meaty sandwich with prosciutto, salami, cappy ham, provolone, lettuce and tomato topped with oil and vinegar. & The "Heaton Heater" (this needs texture so I add onion and/or tomato) with everroast chicken, BBQ & hot sauce, Monterey Jack cheese on a toasted garlic hero. You can't go wrong with the "Scooter" (another big fave) or the "Subway Series" - sort of interchangeable subs, one with pastrami and coleslaw, the other with corned beef n' Kraut Both delicious. There are a few good ones I haven't mentioned so explore the menu yourselves soon! In my opinion you should skip the place next door, this sandwich shop is ten times more satisfying and will save you from the doldrums of lackluster pizza, they'll have ya saying my hero for sure! Try the breakfast sandwiches as well, they rock and are made til pretty late in the day.

Jeter Fajita- Turkey, Monterey Jack Cheese, Sautéed Onions, Tomatoes, and Mayo.

Have you ever been in one of those moods where a burger won't get the job done? Or pizza is not going to cut it? I was in that mood today and needed the only thing on Earth that would satisfy me........a sandwich! A hero to be precise. After checking many Yelp reviews on sandwich shops I decided on "My Hero." It had a lot of positive reviews and TJ's has been done by me enough. I pulled up right to the front and walked in. A good sign was they were playing Captain America on the TV, so to me they make good choices. Looking around I noticed the place was small, also they had for round tables with plastic black chairs. But I'm not here to look at all the Yankee memorabilia (someone is a fan) I came in for a sandwich! My pick was the Jeter Fajita, and I feel it was a wise choice. At $9.01 it was a handful with soft hero bread. They put the right amount of everything on it. They heated it up and used Boar's Head meats. This place is worthy of the title "Hero Shop." Next time I come I hope they play "Ant-Man."

My Hero's Cuban sandwich is quite delicious for the money. That is why I giving them three and a half stars.

This place is the best spot in patchogue for deli sandwiches. The Bronx bomber is incredible and the staff here is top notch.

Ask the Community - My Hero

Has anyone had catering from here? I am interested in wraps and salads for a baby shower in someone's home

Wild shot here but they are the nicest family and if you called them you could ask them. Rather then let the public direct you here. I would imagine they do cater as they have been there for 30 years.

After ordering few beers and appetizers we were constantly asked by our server whether we ready to place another order it was almost borderline harassment to place additional orders. When we did receive the main dishes I was very disappointed in the quality. The chicken panini resembled a chicken burger patty that was both cold and tasteless. Even the cures were cold and slightly soggy. The burgers were slightly better luke warm but cooked and prepared to my guests request. The beers and music made up for a disappointing lunch/dinner. Restaurant featured a full bar along with outside seating overlooking the local marina. Tiki Bar appears to be a local favorite based on the number of customers who were acknowledged by name by the staff and like I said maybe it was an off day for the staff but I'll think I'll stick to the drinks next visit.

I've been to Main Street Patchogue a few times before and I'm always amazed at how it's now like Huntington, with tons of eateries, bars and places to hear live music. It was a busy late Spring Friday night and my cousin told me if we were there just two weeks later (ie, post Memorial Day), there would have been lines to get in anywhere. So make resos! I made one easily earlier that day and when we arrived around 7:30, it was not packed, but it is pretty loud in there even half full. Our waiter, Jonathan, expertly took such great care of us from start to finish, even taking my father's dad jokes in stride. There's a solid cocktail menu, but I had a couple glasses of a better-than-decent prosecco. My cousin loved his espresso martini. For food, count on a couple respectable vegan entrees and I went with the Japanese eggplant with cashew ricotta. The eggplant is delicious, slightly sweet with a creamy rather than chewy (thank god) texture. The cashew ricotta is also tasty, but I do think it needed to be blended a bit more to remove the slightly grainy texture (the cashews might have needed more soaking). My father loved his French onion soup and pastrami sandwich. Separate paragraph for the fries. They deserve it. I'm glad we ordered these to share- it's an enormous platter of them. I appreciated that they were salted perfectly. I appreciate restaurants that can make satisfy a variety of preferences and dietary restrictions. The vibe here is festive and vibrant and a great choice for groups and families.

Food was tasty - the drinks were perfection and the vibe was on point. We'll be back soon!read more

Upon entering I was greeted by what seemed to be the entire staff, which pleased me me . The decor is classic and dimly lit. Making the atmosphere very intimate and inviting. We were greeted by our Waiter(not a server) who diligently explained the evening special. He took our cocktail order and listened intently because I I am a particular customer who demands my Martini just so, in other words....a pain in the ass. The bartender actually came to our table for me to make sure he made my Martini correct. Wow! My Bride Robin ordered the Classic Country style chicken , I ordered the Duck which was usually served with a peach chutney, I asked if the chef would be so kind to make me a orange glaze sauce , he was more than willing to do so. Needless to say both dishes were impeccable and wonderfully prepared. After our main course I ordered a Sambuca with coffee beans and we both ordered the Crème Brûlée garnished with fresh Raspberries and a spearmint sprig. voilà voilà voilà!!! This dinning experience was comparable to the best houses in Manhattan if not better. I am a traditionally trained Chef and I was obliviously beyond impressed. It is my personal opinion that this restaurant is an incredibly hidden culinary gem here in Patchogue . I implore you to not let the opportunity to dine here pass you by. To the owner and entire staff... I say KUDOS to a job well done . Thank you and you may look forward to seeing myself and my family in the very near future.
