Stopped by this charming deli on the recommendation of someone at the Tanger outlets. Great vibe. I was very impressed by how uniformly charming the staff were. They all engaged the customers in conversation and made a real effort to get to know everyone. The food was really good. I had a Nick Rocco hero (I'm thrilled to be back on Long Island where heros are the correct nomenclature). It was delicious and big enough to share. My wife had a health wrap and was less enthusiastic about it (but then again, it was probably too healthy). Great vibe and very good food. Hope to stop by again and try the pie. read more

I ordered delivery from here rather recently during my lunch break since I was in the mood for a grilled chicken sandwich. My sights set on Wine Country Deli and they sure delivered. I opted for WC6, a grilled chicken panini containing roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, and basil pesto smeared on the bread. This tastes exactly how you'd imagine, the pesto was aromatic and well distributed, the grilled chicken had a slight char though it was a bit on the dryer side, and the mozzarella and peppers added a nice freshness to it. Their mac salad is decent and their house pickles are zingy. Now, the size of this thing is the real problem. It quite literally fit in the palm of my hand and I wasn't exactly full after it. Besides the smaller sandwich size, I still enjoyed it and would try something else from here should I be in the area again. read more

I am not happy giving this rating. I normally LOVE this deli but this salad was a miss on their part. I truly have come to expect more from them. It was "ok" but I could've made this myself. They put just regular pitted olives on it, not Kalamata. The feta was a bit scarce. The steak was good though. I love this deli, especially their potato salad, but I would just suggest to the amazing owner to recheck this salad. While the food was good and tasty. A) not everything was on the bag. B) they made orders for "regulars" that ordered at least 10 minutes after me. I first heard about Wine country when I used to work around the area and I visited there randomly and was blown away about the quality of meats they serve. It used to be a great deli, but went downhill recently. I had one of the worst egg sandwiches there 2 wks ago, & that was after they had already gotten my order wrong. I tried them again yesterday, but ended up paying $14 for a lunch sandwich that had a dollop of shredded turkey on it & the rest was all lettuce. They refused to add any more turkey & said all of their sandwiches are the same weight. I've never had such a tiny sandwich there before and will not be going back. It's a shame too, because I like to support local businesses. Not only is Wine & Country over-priced, but now it is next to impossible to get a decent meal from them :-( read more

Steve must have sold this place. It went from awesome to awful almost overnight. I will not be back. $88 for 3 hero's and (2) 1/2lbs of cole slaw. Normally I wouldn't care about the price, but there was missing ingredients and less then 1 chicken cutlet on hero, pathetic, I feel robbed. The week before I ordered a BEC with 2 cheeses, no bacon, and no cheese. I thought it was a glitch, nope. Place officially has gone to bad quick! Came here early on a Saturday and the deli wasn't too crowded. From the outside the deli looks like a farm stand. Once you go in, you get more of a deli vibe. In the winter I really enjoy a good soup so this is you're best option if that's your thing as well. Me and my daughters were headed out East and were over the top hungry after sotting in some long traffic. We found this Deli on Waze, it was the closest food to were we were. The man at the counter who I suspect was the owner was not wearing his mask at all. Most employees had them around their mouths but not their nose. SUper weird T shirts encouraging large social gatherings ‍ Mean Hats saying Make China pay for this." Food was meh and super greasy and the fries were soggy. The pancakes were fine but the chicken fingers my 5 year old ordered tasted "rubbery" The lobster bisque soup was yummy and so was the lemonade. I went back into the deli to see all the things that upset my 10 year old so much. One of the best chicken salads I've ever had! They have sandwiches and Paninis are just great especially the WC one eggplant vegetarian Panini it's just terrific. This place is the freakin best. They do eggs all day - which if you know delis, you know how epic that is. They make their own mozzarella cheese from scratch (!!!!!) and their own roast beef and corned beef for cold cuts. A lot of delis on the island and points east, you're taking your life in your hands eating from their hot bars or their homemade salads- but not this place. A family owned deli in Riverhead just a few minutes passed the Tanger Outlets. Everything tastes fresh and the desserts are made on premsis. I really enjoy the reuben sandwich! Sometimes the service is slow though regardless if there's 3 ppl or 10 ppl. They forgot about my order one time and didn't apologize or give me a free drink or a buck off or anything for the inconvience. And they do not wear masks or gloves while preparing the food, so if you're anxious about covid I don't recommend this deli. read more
