Had a terrible experience with this company. We rented a boat which has problems the year before so we specifically requested a different boat the following year. A few days before they informed us the boat we requested was not available and we would have to use the same boat as the year before (centurion 24 ft). Literally we didn't get to surf at all the entire week. We called Tom and his son multiple times and never were able to trouble shoot the boat. They were completely unwilling to discuss any type of discount. DON'T RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. TOTALLY UNREASONABLE AND UNWILLING TO WORK WITH YOU AT ALL. WE GO TO LAKE POWELL EVERY YEAR AND WILL NOT RENT FEOM THEM AGAIN. read more

If you want a boat, rent from Lake Powell Marina NOT this company. I had reserved a pontoon boat with TK Sports for July 24,2024. I received a confirmation notice but nothing else, so I called the company. I was told they do not rent pontoons for a single day, but a 21 ft boat would be available. So I submitted the application for that boat, again I got a confirmation notice so thought I was set. I emailed this company 4 times and talked to Tom many times before our trip. I would say this was a scam but my credit card was never charged so unless you get a Confirmation Number- you do not have a boat. The day of our rental, we spent about two hours going to all the marinas at Wahweap trying to find TK Sports- No one heard of that company. Again we called, I show 23 phone calls to Tom, he acted like he never heard of me, and said we only had to go to the boat rental- which we did. Guess what? No reservation for us. They don't return phone calls, they don't return emails-not sure if they even have boats. Luckily, we had our house boat and this DID NOT ruin our trip. Very disappointed!!!!!! I would give 0 stars if that was a choice. Wish I had seen the reviews. Not sure how this company is still in business. read more

Short story....Horrible experience from start to finish. Many mechanical problems with the boat and really bad customer service trying to rectify any of the many issues we had. Long story: The first day I called to see if we could pick the boat up early as we were in the area. They said we could pick up but the boat still had to be decontaminated at the DNR launch site. We agreed since they made it sound like no big deal. It may not have been a big deal except that they had left the plug in which the DNR people told me is ILLEGAL to tow a boat with the plug in. Luckily we did not get pulled over as that would have resulted in a ticket. Daryl (TK employee/owners son) said the launch site would have a tool to remove the plug which they did not and I had to sit around for quite some time for a very nice maintenance person to go track one down. Pick up process was long but seemed fine. The first day on the water we realized they didn't give us life jackets which I believe they are required to provide by law. I texted Daryl to bring us the jackets. The lake we were at was about an hours drive to the house where we picked up the boat. I asked Daryl when he could bring them. He said he would meet me 1/2 way. I refused as this was the first day of our vacation and it was his mistake. After arguing with him back and forth he finally agreed to bring them. Terrible customer service....should have apologized and brought them without any other conversation. The mechanical problems started the fist day. The boat was taking on water in the engine compartment (which we discovered after a fair amount of trouble shooting and investigation) and we could not get any speed out of the boat. We notified TK right away as they had asked for us to do if there were problems. We did a ton of trouble shooting ourselves and thought we figured it out as the boat started getting up to speed again. The next day, same problems. We texted back and forth with them. They kept saying they were talking to the mechanic and texting things for us to try to fix the boat. This went on for the duration of our vacation. We ended up the last 2 days having to use our super soaker water guns to suck the water out of the engine every hour or so because the bilge quit working too. We spent at least as much time "fixing" the boat as actually using it. When I rented the boat they had insisted that I get it back to them no later than 8am on the day of return as they had other renters picking it up that day. They informed me that morning that the owner Tom was at Lake Powell and would not be there to meet me. I was not comfortable dropping it off with no one there after all the problems we had had. I did not trust them at this point not to do something shady. At 8:02 they told me someone would be there at 9:30 if I wanted to drop it then. I told them I was already there and that they were well aware that I had to drive at least an hour to get to them. I took a video to show that there was no damage. I made the mistake of not taking the cover off and I left. Guess what? The boat had damage to the bow under the cover so you cant see that area in my video. They charged me $1000 for the damage. I can't prove that we didn't do the damage since you cant see that area in my video but I don't see how we could have done it. They gave me a $150 credit for the decontaminating and a refund for one days rental. Not even close to enough for all the trouble we had to deal with and basically a ruined vacation. I did a bit of research when I got home on their business. I wish I had done that first to see all the bad reviews. I called one of the marinas they used to work out of. The person I talked to said they had quit doing business with TK because of the bad reviews and "they were not comfortable with them." TK was also not registered with the State of Utah department of Park and Rec which is required. I hope this review helps someone else to not have a vacation ruined! read more

I rented a Centurion SV230 for 5 days. When I brought it back, the owner noticed a single bolt had rattled out underneath, which had obviously not been properly tightened. He told me it was my fault that it fell out as I must have "hit a bump" while trailering the boat. He then tried to charge me over $100 for the bolt, saying it was special and difficult to install. It was a stainless shoulder bolt and couldn't have been more than $5 from McMasters. He finally dropped it but later charged our card for a brand new $300 tire, saying it came back with sidewall damage. The owner is a textbook crook. Stay away! read more

Unfortunately, our experience was very similar to other reviewers. The boat broke down 3 days into a 5-day trip. We were stranded 2 hours from the houseboat and had to pay to get the boat towed. TK Watersports was too "busy" to help us out. They did, in fact, charge us full price claiming "operator error" and the fact their "investors would​ not allow a discount". RUN the other direction. Tom does not operate his business with the proper permits, overcharges, under delivers, and appears to have no respect for his clients (read these posts!!!). Consider your damage deposit his (he will charge for 1mm or smaller marks that you'd never see on your own inspection), his add-on products (boards, ropes, toys, life vests, etc.) that are very low quality, and he will likely leave you with a very bad experience as he did with our group. Strongly encourage you to find someone else to deliver your desired boat and toys from a company that can demonstrate they have required permits (they didn't when we rented from them less than a month ago). We had a negative experience in 2020 with a rental boat here not functioning properly during our rental period. We figured we'd try again in 2020. We requested a different boat which was confirmed and then 3 days prior to our rental period, they changed our boat back to the one we had the previous year. We made sure to get fully educated on the boat during pick up. From the first day on the water, the boat did not function properly, specifically the surf functionality, which was the whole purpose we rented the boat. From the first day I reached out to TK to trouble shoot. Over the next 5 days, I spent hours each day on calls and facetime trying to trouble shoot with each day TK acknowledging an issue but being at a loss for how to fix it. Even had me manually adjust mechanisms in the engine compartment. At drop off, the issue was further addressed and they said "they'd work with us on some partial credit" for the lack of functionality. Ultimately, we we were charged the entire amount with no credit for the boat malfunction. We exchanged emails for months but they wouldn't budge. They even acknowledged that there were fixes and mechanical trouble shooting techniques that they did not inform us of during training or during our facetime calls that may have remedied the issue. Despite that they weren't willing to credit us ANYTHING. Would not recommend and will not use again. read more

TK Watersports. The worst experience with any company, ever! From start to finish... We had reserved 2 Sea-Doos for our family reunion. We schedule them for 9 AM to 6 PM. We also paid an extra fee for TK Watersports to deliver them at that time, as we did not have the vehicles to tow them to and from the lake. The day before the event, they call us and tell us they are "Too busy to come pick them up" and we can have them until the next day if we can bring them back to them. Also, they can't be there until 10:00 AM instead of the predetermined 9 AM. Ok, we can roll with the punches. So we do what we need to do in order to have a vehicle that can tow it home (not an easy task mind you) and get ready for a fun day in the sun. The next day they do not show up until 11:00 AM. When they show up, they had to take us through a bunch of paperwork (that we should have been doing in the time leading up to the event) and wouldn't put them in the water for us until it was all done. Only during this paper work did they inform us that they needed a new payment type and there was a massive deposit due now ($500/machine.) Finally, when that was all done, we inspected the machines (that were still dirty from last use) and got ready to ride. At which point, we found one was without oil completely. So we had to wait until he found oil (because he didn't have any with him) and finally get us in the water by 12:30 PM. We get one ride out of one of the machines before it breaks down. It had an obvious oil leak (it happens to be the one that had no oil at the start of the day.) Then we only get 3 or 4 rides out of the other one. We didn't even run through half a tank of gas on either machine before they died. After an hour of waiting, they brought us one machine, asked us to use the new one and our time to tow the other two to his trailer. When trying to fix one of the machines, we beached it and tipped it at his request before towing it to the trailer. We get the new one, which worked great for the rest of the evening. Mind you, we only had the 2 machines we actually paid for for less than an hour on the water. In the end, we packed up the one he left us and took it back. We then were told that ALL three machines had rocks in the engines and would need to be repaired, there was a scratch on the hull of the one he asked us to beach and tip on its side and we are being charged for ALL 3 machines the full day. We worked with them on the repairs and asked them to get an estimate before they do anything and they promised they would. Next thing we know, without authorization, they charged us $1400. They are a joke to work with, and have not been reliable, honest, or helpful at any point during the process. They were at least somewhat nice to start with though. We chartered a boat out of Deer Creek reservoir and had a wonderful experience. They were responsive in setting up the reservation via emails, texts and phone calls. Tommy and Andrew had the boat ready to go as planned and were very welcoming to our family. Our daughters had never wake surfed before but Tommy and Andrew were incredibly patient, fun and helped to get all of us up on the water! Plus they were always watchful of other boats and very safe on the water. Our teenage girls had an awesome morning and would have stayed on the water longer if the clouds and wind had not rolled in. I don't know about others, but we had a very bad experience and wasted a lot of money. There are other rental companies in the area, based on our experience I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. They were very friendly, but did not follow through on anything they committed to or promised. We were told one price over the phone. Then we were given another price when they gave us the contract. They went through it with us in detail before signing. When we got the invoice it was $100 more than what the CONTRACT said. They wouldn't respond to us other than resending the invoice. We were supposed to have the boat in the water so we didn't have to deal with any trailering. The boat wasn' t in the water when we got there at the time we had agreed upon. We waited around for an hour before they finally put the boat in the water with our help. We headed out to the lake and about 15 minutes in we checked the gas and we were completely out. They had failed to fill it up beforehand. We called and called and no one answered the phone, texts or emails. We spent the next hour and a half going back in and waiting for them to take it to the closest gas station and bring it back. They told us they would prorate the time since they got us in an hour late and then lost an hour waiting for them to gas it up. We had already missed the calm morning and ended up going out for a few hours during the windy afternoon. The speedometer and cruise control didn't work, making it extremely difficult for us to tow skiers or wakeboarders. We finally gave up in frustration and came back in. We trailered in for them and in the process bent the trailer bar. I paid $300 to fix it. We weren't supposed to be doing any trailering but I suppose that one is my fault for not demanding that they stick to their word about no trailering (which was why I went with them in the first place). The owner told us he didn't know about everything that had gone on but would talk to his staff and get back to me about prorating the bill for us. He emailed back saying the cruise control worked fine for him and he gave us $50 off our $800 bill because of the time we lost. Wow. Thanks for an entire 50 bucks. So much for prorating it as they had promised. They won't respond to me and don't seem to care about keeping customers. I will absolutely go somewhere else next time. I would pay a higher price to have someone that is fair with their customers and holds to their promises. I found them to be unconcerned about meeting their customers needs. read more

I wish I had read the previous review on yelp on this operation. I also have felt this is might be the worst experience I have ever had with a company. Never have I spent so much and gotten so little. We have had ridiculous charges added on to our card. We were told one thing and charged another. We were promised one boat and given another and charged more, even though I was assured we wouldn't be. We got almost no use out of the boat because of mechanical problems and still more charges. This is an awful company. You cannot trust them and they have no interest in you being happy. If you use this company consider yourself warned. read more

Tom, I am not sure if you are aware of our experience with your company, which was far from satisfactory. I was going to let it slide until I got your invoices and notification of possible damage charges to the boat and jet ski. I will start at the beginning and list the chain of events to refresh your memory. 1. I originally booked  2 jet skis and 1 wake board boat. You quoted me three times; each one was different and so hard to understand that you could not even decipher it. We changed to one jet ski and one boat. 2. A week before I got an email from Cameron stating that they were delivering two jet skis and one boat and told him he was incorrect and it should be one jet ski and one boat. He again corrected the mistake and sent me paperwork two times. The paperwork still had incorrect phone numbers on it. 3. I asked for an insurance policy that was never delivered. 4. On the morning of, we had no texts or email from you because Darryl had the incorrect phone number. 5. Darryl was at the wrong ramp and in fact they launched my 75' houseboat in the time it took me to track him down. 6. The avalanche boat arrived in the most disgusting shape I have ever seen. It was completely scratched and dinged up from what I was told was the previous renter. We have pictures of all the scratches and the blue tape that was on the boat.We assume absolutely no responsibility for any further scratches.  7. The back swim deck had been horribly repaired with mismatched wood.  8. The wake board tower on the driver side was completely stripped and it came out of the socket when we went over the first bump. We had to "jimmy it" with some rope and a bungee cord (which I never charged you for) and drove around for a week with it coming loose daily.  9. None of the analog dials worked including the gas gauge. The gas tank was NOT full when we received the boat and we filled it up soon after we started driving it.  10. The little anchor was completely inadequate for mooring the speed boat and we had to use an anchor from the houseboat.  11. Only one ballast was working, the whole idea of renting this boat was to be able to wake surf behind the boat which we were unable to do. 12. You did not deliver the jet ski I had ordered ( I ordered the wake board edition) instead you sent the GTI which is not what I wanted or ordered after confirming it on more than one occasion. I have been renting equipment on Lake Powell for over 12 years from various vendors and have never run into a situation like this before. I'd strongly discourage anyone from using TK Watersports. Not only were they not at the location when we arrived but we waited about an hour and a half for them to arrive. When they finally got there with a jet ski, it wasn't the one we reserved. Basically because they hadn't taken the time to service the one we ordered, they expected us to upgrade for about $75 more. First of all I should have read the reviews below but we were in a pickle because the boat we had originally rented from a different company for Lake Powell actually sank a week before our trip. The only place we could find a boat in that short amount of time was a place out of Utah...you guessed it....TK Watersports. At first they helped out and we did find a boat that was already at Lake Powell and the rental before us ended just in time for us to have it for the weekend. The rental price was twice as much as the other boat we had originally rented but we had no choice. There also was a $750 delivery fee....which by the way the boat was already at Lake Powell and they would not budge on pricing because they knew that we did not any other choice. So we head to Lake Powell for the weekend of fun....well that didn't happen. When we went to pick up the boat from the delivery driver (after the cleaned it up from the previous rental) he informed us that the speedometer didn't work. Once again what choice did we have? This really put a damper on wake boarding because its hard to pull with knowing how fast you are going. We did paperwork for a good hour before we could take the boat. The delivery did take pictures supposedly of damage that the previous renter did to the boat. At the time that seemed fine (more on that later). We finally finished paperwork and took the boat. Early the next morning we hit the lake. We struggled to wake board because the speedometer or cruise control did not work. After a couple of hours my wife asked how we were doing on gas? To my surprise the gas gauge said the tank was still full. That didn't seem right. Come to find out the gas gauge did not work. So we had to stay somewhat close to the Marina so we did not run out of gas. We had planned on exploring Lake Powell but that didn't happen as well because we did not know how much gas we really had. The whole trip was a downer because of boat issues. We ended up not using the boat much and spent way more time at the campsite than originally planned. With the price of the rental and the unnecessary delivery fee we spent a lot of money for nothing. We ended up dropping off the boat on Sunday afternoon around 5:30 pm with the delivery/pick up driver. We did a walk around of the boat and he said everything looked good. We left Lake Powell and headed home the next morning. I did not receive any kind of invoice from TK Watersports until I got my credit card bill and there was an $800+ charge for damages that we supposedly did. I immediately send them an email and 2 days later they finally sent me the invoice. After looking at the invoice for the damage I asked 3 times for pictures of the damage. It took about 10 days to get those pictures. They sent me some before and after pictures that didn't event appear to be the same boat. I am now trying to get additional pictures but of course they are ignoring me. A piece of advice. NEVER RENT FROM TK WATERSPORTS. THEY ARE CROOKED. read more
