I chose this salon because I had a gift card that I received & heard good things but I wish I chos differently. The salon itself looked extremely nice & had a calming vibe but my trip however was everything but. I took my daughters in for their birthday (6) for a mani pedi & when I approached the front desk I specifically asked for regular polish & service. Kim, a technician approached & pushed for gel which I was hesitant because I did not want to ruin their nail beds. I also knew the gel "glowed" under a UV light & they had a glow party/school dance so I thought that it might be a nice touch to have plus it was their first time & a special day for them so why not. They did not buff their nail beds though as I requested & also I asked again if the polish would last & I was assured that it would for weeks. After my daughters were already sitting in their chairs the same technician advised me that it would be $39 EACH. For each child, each service. I was dumbfounded but already on my way to my own seat for a pedicure & based on the appearance of the salon I figured it was just over priced. After my daughters were done with their nails they were brought to the back for their pedicures & were seated beside me while the same tech, Kim, ran around looking for tools which made me feel as though they weren't even clean because she couldn't find anything. I made sure she did open a fresh pack before she started my daughter's pedicure. We each had our own tech & they were all super nice so I have no complaints of that. Once we were finished I approached the front desk & was advised the total was $193. A gel mani pedi for 2 6 year olds & a hot stone pedi for myself. I was in shock. I also tipped each tech $15, we had 3 total, so add an additional $45 to that, $238. I may have over tipped but I'm in the service industry & I'm generous, oh well. Within THREE HOURS my daughter's polish was falling off so we had to go back for it to be fixed as the techs ran around confused like they didn't know what to do. By the end of the day, after their showers the polish had completely fallen off. I had called & gotten a call back from the manager and who was everything but apologetic so it was clear that I wasn't getting my money back or a credit of any sort. Disappointed in my service with this place. After all the hype on instagram and seeing and hearing from other people who I know to go here. Came out from my service PISSED!! Went in today with my daughter for a mani/pedi, waited an hour to be seen. Had our pedi first and it wasn't bad. They didn't really do good cuticle work on my daughter's toes, but she enjoyed it. My pedicure was decent too, but they forgot about us getting manicures and I had to say something when my daughter's nails were drying, this was the most rushed manicure at the drying station, didn't even do her cuticles just did a quick file and painted them. They did my cuticles and at least soaked them in some cold water but by the end the didn't even put cuticle oil on and I didn't even get my nails painted or my toes, just wanted them cleaned up. Am highly upset about the service in this place. Their time management is all over the place and quality is not there. I don't see what the hype is over this place, all that renovation just to make it look pretty but can't even give 100% when I paid 100% for the service. the technician Michael did a great job on my nails, I got liquid gel which can be difficult. However, for the amount of money charged for the service I expected more than a 30 second weak masage. I guess it depends on the technician. I also got a spa pedicure and felt it was just an average pedicure, no fancy frills or anything and that was $63!! I wont get that again. I just moved here this week so I need to find a new nail place, I had an appointment, showed up for it 5min early for it and still ended up waiting 35min to get my nails done. I didn't get the tech's name but she cut two of my fingers and made them bleed. Never had anyone do that in the past 4 years... Ever since I moved to DE I've been looking for a descent place to get my nails done, but after many disappointments, I decided just keep driving to my regular place in North East Philadelphia. Since the driving to Philly is so long and gas prices has been gone up so much, I figured I would give this place a shot. Well, my mistake. The place I've been going for the last 3 years chargers $40 for gel refills and doesn't matter what design or shape you choose. Refills are $40 and new sets $60.00. I called TLZ and asked how much it would be for my refills with a ombré polish. The guy told me $50.00. I figured since this is only 10 minutes from my house it would be ok. Well, I get there and told the mail technician what I wanted. She started removing my old polish she tells me if I want ombré she needed to remove my old nails and I needed to get a brand new set. I asked how much and she tells me $89. I told her no, just give me a plain regular color. She did and I asked her for 1 nail design. My end price was $72.00. But that's not the worse. What got me mad is that I left with my fingers bleeding, my nails wasn't painted all the way down to my cuticles. read more

This was my first time at TLZ Nail Spa and I was very disappointed. I got a gel manicure and a gel pedicure. The pedicure was fine. The manicure was terrible. Kim did my nails. As she was painting my nails I noticed that she was missing the sides of most of the nails with polish and there were empty gaps between that needed more paint on the sides of my nails. I told her that before she put in the clear coat. She said that she still needed to file the sides after she applied the clear coat. She did do that but there were still these gaps. I mentioned this again and Kim's response was to shove my hand inside the gel UV light station which was very rude and very unprofessional. After paying I walked out to my car but within looking at my nails I was still unhappy. I went back inside and asked if anyone was available to help with some touch ups with the polish. Kim came up to me with her nail file, didn't ask me to sit down, and starting filing again at the nails I told her needed more polish. I told her the filing is not the problem, the problem is they need more polish which is what I told her twice before. She kept filing and was rough and to the point that my one nail started bleeding. She did not apologize for this. She finally put more polish on some of the nails. The problem was that she was rushing, I am really not one to complain but this was a horrible experience. I have been getting my nails done for 10 years and never had an experience like this before. Very very disappointing and I hope Kim is educated regarding proper customer service. read more

After calling ahead and coming in on time, I was one of two patrons in the facility and it took over 15 minutes for anyone to begin working with me. The manicurist seemed like this was the first time doing Dip. She forgot to use activator and when going over the nail with the sand machine the polish came off, she then proceeded to try to use a UV light machine- which is not part of the process. This place was not busy (I came on Black Friday), but the nail technician Kim seemed to be rushing on my pedicure and Gel manicure. So so... I just left the salon and being the holiday weekend, I did expect them to be busy. As a walk-in, I had about a 20 minute wait before being seated for my gel manicure. Not bad. Initially I was impressed when "Anna" started doing two clients at the same time alternating back and forth between us. I know the gel process requires a wait period between coats so I thought it was a great use of that time...right up until the time when I noticed that she wasn't applying the process equally between us! She allowed hers to bake longer than mine in between coats, first if all. Then after she was finished applying all of my coats and had me in for the final bake, she offered the other client another coat of polish before her top coat. My go to nail salon for the past 3 years. Great decor and very clean. Tee, the owner, is very sweet! I recommend making an appt, especially if you are requesting a certain nail technician. My nail technician is Raz. When she does my gel manicure, I never have a problem with peeling or chips. I can go 2-3 weeks between manicures and only go due to new growth.
