Instant fan. Showed up this past Sunday afternoon with a couple friends. The place was not super busy since there were no sports on this afternoon so we were seated quickly at a high top in the bar area. Not a huge place, but it looks to have a separate seating area towards the front where they can open the windows and get some nice Weather to come inside based on their name of course we had to get a couple cocktails so we each got a margarita they were massive and reasonably priced since it was $.85 wing day we took advantage and tried five different types. Happy to see they are offering Bell and Evans, but the downside is they are extremely small wings, but very crispy and flavorful except for the roasted garlic option. Those were bland as can be, but my Chipotle Cinnamon, which is more of a dry rub were fantastic as were the Cajun Ranch which had sauce. The hot were not extremely hot and their special was a strawberry Sriracha, which were amazing. Super friendly waitress taking great care of us, but towards the end of our meal, she was cleaning and disappeared for a bit so we had to wait some time to get our bill. No problem, we are in no rush. I would gladly return time and time again to try some more menu items, a real gem in the middle of nowhere. read more

We have had this happen 4 times but never this rude. We ordered A Dozen Naked Boneless Wings and they always get them right in restaurant, but when we order for pickup there always wrong. This time when we called the place they said the server (someone we know very well) wasn't there, we knew they were lying because we were there and saw him. My husband loves Shirley's wings. We've had good service and we've had very slow service. The menu is a little spicy for my taste. I'm a whimp when it comes to heat and would appreciate a few more things on the menu that were not hot (spicy). Worse place We experienced in a long time. The food is usually a hit. Service is less then mediocre so we deal with it cause of the good food. Not sure what's going on but everything we ordered with the exception of the fries and salad was terrible. Quesadilla was made with steak sandwich meat not with filet as normal and was not oozing with the cheese. Burger was burnt as well as the mushrooms. Burrito appeared to be microwaved. Regular chef was off which is the excuse we were given for terrible food. read more

Just updating cause it's been a minute. Staff is still always friendly, their homemade pizza dough is always delicious, and very filling for a personal. I think the prices are very fair. I wasn't sure what to expect here. The best way to describe it was a bar with upscale food. I had the steak caprese salad. The portion was great and the steak was cooked perfectly. Service was fast and consistent. Drinks were kept full at all times which is something that is so often overlooked in establishments. Visited Shirleys on a whim and wasn't disappointed. The ambiance is nice. Everything looks fresh and remolded. You can't go to Shirleys and not get a margarita. I got the Prince and my friend had the Duke. They were soo darn good! For appetizers we had the Buffalo calamari. And we did wings for dinner. I had hot parmiyaki mixed Chicago style and my friend had parm peppercorn. Everything as great as we will definitely be back. Our server was Reed and she was great! Go check it out! Shirley's Cafe is a favorite restaurant of my wife and mine. We are in at least once a week. Great food, service and prices. I hate to sound like a spokesperson, but all of the friends we turn on to it love it too. It can get a bit loud around the bar on Friday and Saturday nights -- we will ask to be seated sit in the enclosed front porch if the bar area is crowded. Sundays are "family pizza night" (full-size pizzaa for $8.99 each). And their pizza (and strombolis) are great! They have a Specials menu every night -- if you see *anything* that grabs you on the Specials, *GET IT* because in all of our visits to Shirley's (probably 25x at this point), we have *never* seen a special come up again. read more

The food was great but the inmates run the asylum! The waiters and waitresses talk loud with their personal business becomes mine as I hear them clearly as does the rest of the area. Customers seem to be a nuisance at times. My family of 6 went there because of good rumors we heard. I don't want to dispel those rumors just have them corrected. I had to make a yelp account just for this one and I've never left a negative review anywhere in my life. I came into this spot with a group of 12 to celebrate a birthday. One of us had a Trinidadian issued government ID and were immediately met with a dirty look and told that their policy doesn't accept non- American ID's... wonder why. The bartender ended up doing us a solid and let it slide because there were so many of us but made it known that he wouldn't be allowed back next time. The service was slow, not friendly, and we had to ask twice for limes- at a tequila bar. Food was sub- par and having the bartender slamming trash bags full of glass bottles every 10 minutes was just unnerving. Genuinely an awful experience. Awesome burger night both quality and price wise. The burger was huge (8 oz. I think), 5 toppings (bacon, mushrooms, peppers, etc) with fries AND a drink (beer or soda) for $9. Other restaurants should take note. Service was quick as well. The Groupon was redeemed with ease. Only two things I could see for improvement: the lemonade was very weak and the wings could use a little more sauce. Will definitely be back. Pizzadillas are huge and delicious. Nachos are great. This has become our go-to for $5 margarita Mondays. Shirley's is a smaller space but they are careful to follow distancing, mask and sanitation rules. I don't usually order fish or seafood at a 'bar' type place but Shirley's has earned my trust. The prices are very reasonable and all of the food I've had here has been far above 'bar' quality. A local hot spot in the Temple area that always seems to draw a crowd, especially on the weekends. Casual dress, come hang out with the locals in a friendly environment with plenty of good food choices, mostly Mexican in style and flavor. Bar and table seating throughout this small establishment makes it seem nice and cozy, no wasted space here. A small selection of beers on tap, plus a good number of mixed drinks, including plenty of margaritas. Usually there is some sort of drink special going on. Good for smaller groups (less than 10), but not sure if they can accommodate larger parties. Plenty of nearby street parking or park in their 20+ car private lot adjacent to the property. read more
