TLC Acres, Williamston, MI is above and beyond by far the greatest all around pet establishment that I have ever had the pleasure of being a customer of. I feel honored to be among the patrons who have had the experience of knowing Jackie and TLC Acres. Jackie is passionate about her love of all animals and the care of all animals no matter what type, from dogs to cats, birds to camels, wallabies to frogs, horses to hares, it does not matter. Her knowledge of animals and the care/training of them should be recognized with much respect. She knows what she is doing and what she is talking about. Her love of animals knows no genus, all are equal when it comes to the animals welfare, no matter if they are hers or another's. Regarding the ones that are not her own, she still cares for them as if they are hers, and loves them all the same. It would be a shame if anyone did not use TLC acres as their go to animal care establishment. If you live within reach of TLC Acres, use TLC Acres. It is guaranteed that your animals will be cared for as if you are there yourself. Kennel your pets there, you will never be disappointed. I especially recommend her Labrador Retriever Puppies when they are available. If you have the chance to be apart of her TLC puppy family, jump at the opportunity. Jackie is rigorous about her approval for the adoption process, but it is worth it because the pup that you will get will be the best that can be expected. If you want a family dog, show dog, hunting companion or a therapy friend, TLC Acres is the way to go. There is no better in my opinion. For those individuals who put reviews here in Yelp and say such things like "I dealt with TLC Acres multiple times, great experience (5 star), then once had a bad experience, now I have to give them a bad review (1 star), grow up. The overall picture of TLC Acres, Williamston, MI and Jackie, the owner is above any beyond better than should be expected at any time. Post the 5 star reviews about all of the other great experiences that you had with TLC Acres before the one bad, then the rating would be accurate. If you have to bring up one negative point, then make sure that you lead with two positive points. If you cannot do so, then look toward yourself before you point fingers. I found Jackie with TLC acres about 8 years ago while looking for a Lab to complete my family. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and I decided to go look at a litter that she had. Little did I know that I would be creating such an wonderful contact. I ended up with the most amazing addition to our family (Harley the Chocolate Lab)! Jackie took the time to vet me as a person and potential home for her dog which impressed me. She also kept the litter together a lot longer than I expected so she could introduce them to things (like water) in the safety of their litter. Harley has been a huge part of our family since and we still keep in touch with Jackie, sending pictures and just plain thanking her for giving us such an amazing member of our family!!! I have also on two separate occasions now called her when I have needed help with rescuing dogs in bad situations that I happen to come across. The latest being today (8/14/2013) regarding a young Chocolate lab at the Branch County animal control who only had until Tuesday to be adopted/claimed before he was put down. Within about 10 minutes she had already secured his life and will be picking him up on Friday! She is an amazing person and a great asset to the dogs that she has come into contact with! The last dog she helped me with was a very abused dog that I saved from being put down at my animal control because she was unable to be confined, she somehow always got out. As it turns out she has horrible separation anxiety, but Jackie was able to find her the most amazing forever home where she goes everywhere with her family. I have had two dogs cremated through TLC Acres. The first one was my German Shepherd puppy, Gideon. When I found out that he was very ill and had to be put down, I was devastated. I called Jackie and she was very sympathetic and understanding. She went to the vet's and picked up the body so I wouldn't have to. Her compassion and professionalism was excellent. I received Gideon's ashes with a lock of his hair and a cast of his paw print. She sent me a sympathy card in the mail. She made the whole process less stressful for me. When Sadie, my 18-year-old mixed Corgi passed away, I received the same compassionate treatment from TLC Acres. Their professionalism is unsurpassed by anyone else. There are times with my new German Shepherd puppy that I have had questions regarding training or breaking bad behaviors. Whenever I call Jackie she takes whatever time I need to help me with my questions. I find her extremely knowledgeable about animals and their behaviors. Everything that she has advised me to do that I tried really worked! She has a genuine love for animals and I would never hesitate to take my dog to her kennel when I need to board him. read more

I have two very small Yorkies that we board, have groomed and go to daycare at TLC Acres. They have done an OUTSTANDING job taking care of the two small members of our family. I would not trust anyone else with them more than I trust Jackie and her staff at TLC Acres. They need special attention along with space and can't be with big dogs. She makes sure they are taken care of just like every other dog that has special needs or you just want treated like a member of your family. We have been going here for several years and I couldn't have found a better place to take my little family members. She has also done some training with them and had done a fabulous job as Yorkies are not the easiest to train and to my surprise they have learned a ton and are much better dogs because of the training she has provided. I would recommend anyone looking for a place to board there pet, have there dog groomed, trained or even for doggie daycare this is the place to go. Our french bulldog puppy recently passed away and TLC Acres took care of her cremation. They were absolutely fantastic! In addition to the cremation, we got a special ink on paper pawprint and the traditional clay pawprints, which were adorable and clearly prepared and packaged with care. She was shipped back to us after cremation quickly and securely and the price for everything was really reasonable given the attention that I know went into taking care of our little girl. It has been an incredibly hard time for our family, and I must have called them a million times with questions and concerns. They were always understanding and always available when I called. Jackie was particularly sweet and caring throughout the entire ordeal. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with them! read more

We have been taking our pets to this place for years and have always had good service and even got a tour of there place all we had to do was ask and they took us around and showed us some of their other animals. Our dogs and cat love going there ( well maybe not the cat lol) but the dogs can't wait to get out of the car and go play in the areas. They have nice large kennels and the dogs get to be dogs. They come home tired and our vacation is good since we know that they love our dogs almost as much as we do. We wouldn't go anywhere else. I bought my yellow Labrador, Lily from TLC nearly 13 years ago. Sadly, we had to have her put to sleep yesterday and it's a huge loss for our family. She was literally the greatest dog I've ever owned. She camped with us everywhere, never barked when left alone, and I haven't had a single health problem with her. Just 12 1/2 years of routine care. You couldn't have asked for a better dog with the kids! She was a gem. We are now going through the dozens of pictures of her, laughing and crying and remembering how sweet she was. Definitely going back to this breeder again, only wish I had gotten on the list sooner! read more

We boarded our 2 dogs at TLC Acres over spring break, this was our first time there. When we went to drop them off there were a few other people doing the same thing. All the owners and dogs we saw seemed to have been there before as they knew where they were going and so happy and excited! Our dogs had a great time and we have even taken them back for doggy daycare a few times now! They love going to TLC as we get close to the driveway they get all excited. I would recommend this place for anyone looking to board their dog! We have been to several other kennels and this is by far the best one! read more

We have been boarding our dogs there for some time. It is a great place and nice because it is a small kennel. Our dogs get lots of personal attention and the staff have always been wonderful. They do require a deposit for holidays and busy times which is posted on all their paperwork each time you board. So to comment on the lady who posted she didn't know there was a deposit, if she has been there before she must have not read the paperwork. Requiring a deposit is standard now days, where ever you go. We will continue to take our pets there for all the wonderful service they do provide. read more

Our beloved Abby passed away recently and very unexpectedly. Abby (chow mix) was 10 years old and our constant companion. We consider her finally gift to us by passing away peacefully at home. We can't thank TLC Acres owners, Jackie and Jim, for the sympathy they extended to us and the great care they showed Abby in her final presence with us. They are truly animal lovers and people with huge hearts. Abby is the 5th animal we have had TLC Acres cremate for our family and would never consider any other service. We have been using TLC Acres since 2013. We always board two dogs & now one kitten! Their length of stay ranges from a couple days to sometimes a week or more, multiple times a year. Our animals always come home happy & tired! Jackie is always a joy to talk to & my animals love her. We have never had a bad experience with TLC. We purchased our female yellow lab back in 2006, she is the most amazing Labrador we have ever had, and is a walking advertisement for TLC Acres! We choose TLC Labradors because they have superior health and sound structure, previous labs we have had int he past have had major bone and health issues. The boarding facility is excellent for caring for your dog as well if you have to go out of town. We are planning on adding a chocolate to our family very soon! Cant wait! 5 STARS! read more

We have been taking our beagle to TLC Acres for over three years. He has enjoyed his stay and we know he is well taken care of. He does enjoy the playtime, outdoor activities, and kong toy, as well as the interaction with the other dogs during his stay. I've been volunteering for Jackie at TLC acres for over 5 years. I also got my rescue lab from her and have boarded him here many times. Her kennels are clean (scrubbed daily) and all the dogs get lots of outside time. She truly cares about the dogs and their wellbeing. I boarded my dogs here for the first time and loved it. The check in was courteous and quick. I ended up talking with the owner for a bit and what a wealth of knowledge she is! We purchased a beautiful lab puppy from TLC and have boarded our 3 labs at their kennels. We have found TLC to be a wonderful, caring facility where our pups were treated like family. The 24-7 care is outstanding - owners are on site so the dogs are always watched - something not found in other places. We think TLC is an excellent choice. read more
