Please think twice before you put a loved one in the facility. Last night my Mom waited two and a half hours for someone to respond to her request light. The nurses were sitting in the common area watching a movie instead of checking on the patients. Some of the nurses are nice, but others are just seething with hate. I have read complaints about TLC on several websites. Unless you are able to check on your loved one daily and monitor their care carefully, remove them from TLC. read more

Walked in and requested a tour of the facility. Jason was very friendly and we felt welcomed. The patients and staff seemed to be happy and friendly as well. The facility has 2 doctors on site 12 hours of the day and they also have a good physical therapy room. They offer a lot of activities to occupy the patients during their recovery. The facility location is convenient and will follow up on my review during my fathers stay for rehabilitation. So far 5stars. read more

On Friday afternoon I was discharged from TlC at 1530 w Warm Springs Rd, my room was 103 bed A. Facility is spotless clean, most of the professional health workers extremely professional and caring people . If I could give this facility no stars that is what it would get from me!!! The facility is dirty, it stinks and it is scary. My grandma was taken there after a hip fracture surgery. She was sent to this facility so that she could get Physical therapy and learn to walking again. Well that never happened they just left her laying in a bed, drugged out of her mind in a diaper. After seeing the condition of this place we immediately went around town and found her a much nicer much cleaner facility. We requested TLC sends her medical file to the new facility for a transfer. TLC never faxed the medical file and made many excuses as why they did not send it. First they said a doctor had to sign off on the transfer but there was no doctor to be found all day and night long. Then they said the new facility had to go check her out before they would except her. That was a total lie. They basically held my grandma hostage and would not release her. We had to threaten to bring in our lawyer. With that threat they finally released my grandma. This place is literally HELL on earth. I feel awful my grandma after all she had been through with an emergency hip surgery had to go to this awful place. All this facility wants is the money! They throw you in a bed in the corner and keep you drugged so you don't bother them! DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONE STAY THERE!!! I wouldn't wish TLC on my worst enemy. I will say one positive thing about TLC they have a few caring nurses.Those nurses do their best with what they have to work with. However the administrators and social worker are not caring at all. My father was sent to this place for rehab after back surgery. We had came to Nevada to check-up on him since he was not progressing as we had thought he should be. We were very, very appalled at the treatment he received. The care, treatment and cleanliness of this facility was horrific. The nurses barely acknoweldged you when you presented yourself to their station. They would tell you to wait in the room until the CNA made their rounds or got to you. We had problems with the staff when they put an IV incorrectly (not only with my father's but his roomates as well) , they never listened to my father's complaints or concerns. They did not change bedding often enough. I found my way to the laundry and changed my father's bedding myself. We were there for a week and the floors were never washed. Although the hall floors were waxed to shine. My father was a bit disppointed that the "Social Hour" was just a group of residents who were given cigarettes and sat around smoking outside. The only bright light in this facility were the occupational thereapists. They seemed to care about the progress of the patients. read more

So my mom had a fall and went to Henderson Hospital but then they transferred her to this place. First off I want to just say that I know we are suffering with the Corona pandemic and so everyone is confused but please answer your phones! Everyone in there is extremely rude! No help, no assistance, no caring heart, and very inexperienced. I had told a social worker when I was coming to pick up my mom and the time and she told me ok. So after work I go to get my mom and as soon as I walk in the door a lady name Dianne Darcy who is working the entrance table stops me to take my temperature. I'm ok with that. She asks me what she could help me with so I told her I was there to pick up my mother and I gave her name. She walks to the front desk comes back to her seat and sits down. I'm standing for 10 minutes because I thought my mom was coming but she didn't come. So I ask Dianne if I can sit down and she says yes. I'm waiting and waiting for over an hour. I finally ask her when is my mother coming and she tells I have to call her nurse to verify so I ask her why she didn't tell me because I've been waiting for almost 2 hours? she said I thought you knew. Everyone who came into this establishment had complaints with the staff and the treatment that they or their loved one has received. Do not put your parent in this establishment! They will be miserable! My mother is back home but everyday she is telling me how bad she was treated. They need to fire Dianne Darcy immediately and hire new staff and nurses!! read more

I had the unfortunate experience of being admitted to TLC for rehab after major spinal surgery. If you want to die TLC is the place for you the care was beyond horrific! You will wait for hours for help using a bed pan. They had zero control over the dispensing of medication, one day they gave me the muscle relaxer that I was to have very 6 hours only and hour and a half apart! The entire time I was there I had to monitor my own medication and they would leave narcotics on the tray by my bed! When I complained to one nurse she said that the computer said you take these now and when I refused they would not give me any of my medication including my insulin! The one CNA was helping me wash up and had the nurse come and look at the wound which was at the time a six inch cut at the base of my neck in the back she said it's just draining and proceeded to but the dirty bandage back on my neck, and when I said something to her she said the wound nurse needs to see what the discharge looks like! So instead of putting a clean bandage on and saving the dirty one for the other nurse to look at she just put the dirty on back on! Needless to say it did end up getting infected. So the physical therapy people decided that it would be a good idea to give me a deep tissue massage which ended up completely opening up the infected wound! I did end up checking myself out against medical advise, per the advise of my neurosurgeon who told me you have to get out of there! I had to have another surgery to clean out the infection and I now have a 10 inch incision on the back of my neck! I had hear from several elderly patients there that the medication was not given to them because the nurse felt that they were just there to get high! I can speak for myself but unfortunately most of the seniors there can not. They are not equipped to handle human beings. The toilets are all child size so god forbid you are there for rehab you can't use the bathroom because the toilets are to low to the floor! If you want the poorest care in the world then TLC is for you! read more

Below is the blurb TLC has for the description of their services. I'm writing on Yelp to state they have over exaggerated this description. My father was released from the hospital and transferred to TLC for temporary rehab. While we came in around 6:00 on a Saturday after office hours, which are Monday thru Friday 8:30am-4:30 pm. I was surprised that there was no management around to help with the process of admitting. I arrived a little prior to the transportation company who was bringing my dad. There was someone at the front desk, but she never introduced herself nor did she ask why I was here. When my father arrived no staff member introduced themselves or asked who he was or had any kind of greeting. Already big red flags. While my dad lay in the gurney the staff was frantically looking for his paper work. They were telling us they could not find the order for him to be here in with the forms the hospital sent over. While they kept looking my dad pain level started to rise, no one from TLC offered any help. The two gentleman from the transportation company went to look for a pillow or two to help make my dad more comfortable, in the meantime, still no paper work. At that time one of the men for the transportation company started going through the papers and found the form the staff couldn't seem to find. Really!!!!! We finally get him to his room and what do we see, a blanket on the floor under the a/c. The blanket was wet and the staff member told us the maintenance was in earlier to check the leak. Obviously they felt throwing a blanket down would take care of the issue. The leak has been fixed, but it took two days. This is only the beginning of things to come. There have been many occasions where my dad has called for help and it has taken up to three hours to receive help. While 30 mins is a bit long, waiting hours is unacceptable. If it wasn't for my mom and I staying with him all day, and making the staff aware of his needs and asking for meds, etc. and constantly staying on the I am certain things for my dad would be so much worse. Now, I can say the doctor has been approachable, helpful and knowledgable. Some of the staff has been kind, especially the CNA's. But ultimately the service is less then satisfactory. To add insult to injury, while my mom and I where coming through the corridor/hallway, to come see my dad, I slipped on a wet floor and fell. The cleaning crew forgot to put the wet floor sign up. There were at least two employees there and while my mom helped me up not one employee asked if I was hurt or needed anything. One employee did say to stay there and she was going to get her supervisor to make a report. The report was made and while it was made and while I told them I was sore in my lower back and knee, nothing was offered. No manager has checked or asked all day about my well being. To be honest I am not sure they were even notified. The cleaning crew employee did see me later that day and asked how I was. I will be notifying management of my disappointment, but something tells me not much will change. It truly saddens me to think companies think it okay to take care of resident/patients in this manner. While I am sure their are many good people working here at TLC who really do want to help and make a difference I believe that proper training has not been provided. Definitely would not recommend this facility. My mother was sent to this facility from the hospital - my mother was 93 with Lewy Body Dementia. She was sent here for "rehab". I'm sure it was simply for the insurance since there was no possible way she could do rehab. The first couple of days she was there I told everybody I came into contact with & the nurses station that she absolutely had to take her hallucination pills - she had been taking them for over a year. The facility's doctor, who never consulted with me, decided she didn't need these pills. Of course, when I came to visit her, she was having terrible hallucinations. Later, I am given what I call her "eviction" papers because her insurance only covers so many days. I ask if they transport her home - I was told no, that that was on me. Their in-house social worker comes to me and wants to try to put her on Medicaid - nobody talks to me about ALL my options, which one was for her to go on hospice. Again, I feel they were after more insurance. Once I brought hospice in, their social worker asked me "who called them". I am thankful a friend of mine told me about hospice and they came to mom's rescue! They got my mother home, took care of everything and Mom passed in her own home, her own room with family surrounding her. read more

Seemed like a very caring place. Since she has been here constant throwing up and now in Hospital and she may not make it. She had her Tracea removed on Wedsday and by Friday she was serious ill, Saturday she is in the Hospital fighting for her live. I am not sure who is to blame but she now has fecal matter going into her lungs, stomach and her intestines are blocked. This could be Doctor issue but they should of not kept feeding her through the tube when trac was removed it caused back up and now she only has 70% chance of survival. I rate this as -0 read more

The care I received was wonderful all of the staff from the Doctors to the porters were great I wish I could name everyone at TLC because they were all wonderful and caring But to many names to mention. I have visited this facility and this time I was impressed. I have never had problems with the Staff. They are friendly towards me, and Lily looks very well. She is alwaya clean and they seem to be pleasant. My only beef is ........ Lily needs more care for her recovery of her Massive Stroke. She needs more nerology to help her brain recover. However they seem to not do anything to achieve that. The Doctors do very little to help the patient to have victory. It seems they want to use patients as a permanent paycheck. This place is understaffed and money hungry. I like to see a more aggressive approach. The Dr. Needs to do that, but they are not The TV Room smells of urine. Everybody seems to have different care. After carefully evaluating this place. I still would say this place over all is not a very good facility If it was up to me I would put my loved one in a better more aggressive facility. Lily would of been 100% cured if given the right care. They are money hungry, canivers, liers and horders. Instead of doing the right thing and giving her the aggressive care she deserves. I feel they do not really help the patient or want them to fully recover. It seems that they do very little to fully help thier patients to be the best they can be. The best thing I could say is look over the facility, compare them to other places and then make a decision. The only reason that this place was picked was because of Humana. That is why never pick an HMO. Pick a plan that has no restrictions and make you decide where you want to go. read more

TLC has very few good staff members, most like you are inconveniencing them by asking for something, Hello people, the patients pay your wages. The care here is sub-standard and cannot in all honesty cannot recommend this facility to anyone. Stay away....please....... read more

First off - I almost chose a different facility for my mother due to all the bad reviews. I am glad I did not. My mother's health was deteriorating due to cancer and the medical profession and insurance companies not giving a damn. See once you hit a certain age you are no longer a human being but a drain on the resources. Henderson hospital wanted my mom out of there and my brothers and I chose TLC. They put mom into the Resporiary Therapy wing. The Nurses, Therapist, and CNAs in this wing were the best. The care, compassion, and empathy my mother received were above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. Unfortunately, due to my moms' health, she could not participate in physical therapy and I was handed discharge paperwork about 30 mins prior to the priest giving my mom her last rights. The only issue I had with TLC is the PA, Social Worker, and the front desk staff. They really could use some continuing education on bedside manners. My issue with the PA is that he had me sign a "DNR" but because he never signed it I had to go through the whole process again when we got back to Henderson Hospital. After the priest had left the Social worker came into to tell me "since your mom cannot do the physical therapy we have talked to the insurance company and they want her discharged". When I was able to speak I asked her if she even bothered to look at my mom? One of her responses was to tell me they could move her to the nursing home and that they would keep her Social Security check to pay for her care. After some back and forth with this woman she finally left so that I could get back to my mom. Finally, Someone came in with the nurse and stated that I had told the PA that I refused to have my mom transferred back to the hospital. I assured them that I never had that conversation and that my brothers and I had never wanted her released from the hospital, to begin with. Once they knew that I wanted my mom transferred back to Henderson Hospital they put the call in for EMT's to transfer her. In between that call and the EMT's arriving the Social Worker had sent in another Social Worker to speak to me about my mothers' discharge. I was in disbelief at their callous actions. My mother was on a bypap and was unable to go on just normal oxygen the EMTs did not have a bypap and the only option was to put her on a ventilator. The Therapist from TLC actually went with the EMTs so that my mom could stay on the Bypap. I will be forever grateful to her for her act of kindness in the last moments of my mom's life. My mother passed away about 8 hours after leaving TLC in Henderson Hospital's ER. read more

My review is only based on a visit. But, I am a somewhat "older" lady myself, so in a way I am a test case! I went to check out the place for my mother, as she will be needing care. I walked into a large, light lobby -- the place does seem to have large, light halls and not to be all cramped up - a plus. The receptionist was busy with someone. I walked over toward some glass doors and windows that led to a large patio; I figured I might see residents relaxing out there, but what I saw looked like workers having lunch and one odd-looking old dude (I couldn't tell whether he was a worker or a resident) smoking out there. When the other person left, I went to the reception desk, smiled at the receptionist, and said "Hello". She glared at me as though I had just messed the floor, and instead of saying "May I help you, Ma'am?" or anything polite or normal, she snapped, "Which direction did you come from?" Later on I realized she might have thought I came in from the patio, or went out into the patio, or goodness knows what, but that is no excuse for her attitude. I believe that a well-run place would never have a person like that running the desk. I "made nice" with this character enough to arrange to see their salesman. He had better manners, but the room he showed me was unimpressive. My mother will not be going to TLC. read more

CNA Lorence is a bully... no compassion to his patients... he talks down to his patient and yells at them... he shouldn't be in a health care field... even the charge nurse in this facility working side by side with him would start getting mad to patient just because they are helpless... read more

Please do not let your loved one be placed in this facility for any length of time, ever. It does have some good, caring nurses and CNA's and the therapy people are great if you can get them to be consistent with therapy. The facility seems to be more concerned with money than patient care. Their mission is to milk the insurance for all they can for as long as they can rather than getting the patient well enough to go back home. The place has 255 beds and is chronically understaffed, especially at night and on weekends. If you want to talk to the attending physician, good luck with that. The RN's can't even help much with that. They do not check on patients often enough. My loved one had a seizure there because there was a dreadfully long lapse of time in administering medications. The public spaces look nice, but the rooms are shabby and dirty. There is no visitor seating in the rooms. You have to sit in the patient's wheelchair. This is corporate healthcare at its worst. Thanks to my loved one's hospitalization due to the seizure while at TLC, I was able to place him in a much nicer, smaller facility where he is rapidly improving. When I talk to anyone about this institution, I always reference the movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". That's what this place feels like. I would often come here to visit and find my loved one crying his head off, with not one person offering any kind of consolation. This place should change what it says it does or be shut down. Disgusting the way they treat there patients! Just because these individuals are old does not mean they are senile. My grandmother was in there for three weeks and never saw a doctor or therapist until I had to speak up! Never again will she ever go to such an incompetent facility again mark my words. If I could rate it a minus 10 I would. The worst care I have ever seen! Bad bed side manner and Filthy. You ring the button it takes at least 30 min and with an attitude. I had to put bed pan for my mother. I had to get her out of bed. When I was done then they would come in what do you need?I had to stay with mom over night the first night-because it was so bad. The second night she got a roommate who was going to call me. The roommate walked out due to the deplorable conditions!!!They wouldn't let me stay . They keep telling me there not short handed! But they clearly are!! And after I called insurance to get her moved to Health South. They gave me the hardest time. I had to argue with them for like an hour. As there accusing me of harassing them. They actually said they were gonna call security on me. What a joke my mother was laying on a bed with no fitted sheet with a Pee pee pad like you would use for a dog. Don't know where/how to start this review - I will start with, if you can find ANY other place to send your family members for care, it would be in your best interest to do so. My moms insurance company gave her no choice to go here. Repeatedly I arrive to visit her and she is in a wet diaper and has been for a very long time due to the smell. I lost my cool and a nice person (wish I could remember her name, great smile, not a nurse, someone with authority) told me should would find someone to help. She stopped a man in the hall and he gave her instructions to find a nurse. Later I found out this man was the ADMINISTRATOR and he passed my need for help onto someone else. In a nutshell, don't bother making a complaint the director of nursing will NOT return phone calls. Her name is Donna and the nurse who told me her name told me not to tell anyone that she told me her name as she would be fired. I could go on but it makes me more angry to think about it. Positves, clean facility, allows healthy pets to visit, decent food. Cons, unhappy nurses, poor care, no one who can help will listen at the management level. read more

Having both parents here in this facility has truly been a positive experience. Many thanks to the front office staff--Jason, Donna and Kat. Jason provided us with much needed information and was always accessible to take time to talk with us about our specific needs in caring for our parents; The facility is clean and family friendly. We are receiving excellent care from Dr. Bhatia and her staff; the RNs, CNAs, PTs are most superb! Considering my Aunt has been abused previously at other facilities this place seems like heaven. Although today my main complaint is about treatment towards family (me personally) because of my commitment to her well-being this makes me start to question further other concerns regarding her health care. I've given up on finding a facility that will truly make me a believer that the staff and the caregivers of these facilities truly love their job and the patients at these long term facilities and they are not just there to collect money for bodies, and treated like caged animals pushed with pharmaceuticals. A constant need to remind no dairy or soy after they get mad about diarrhea and repeated request she now has a decent TV with sound/remote since all my aunt can do is lay there bedridden on a vent. Bed sores are a result of neglect. We have had loved ones in different states never get bed sores so this has always been unacceptable to me with NV long term healthcare facilities. I felt compelled to write due to the behavior towards me this past weekend. It has continuously gotten worse after several months of her moving to this facility with inconsistency of nurses not able to talk to me when I call (I live out of state) stating "I am not listed as POA", when in fact I am. When I do come to visit they smile in our families face and tell us it's resolved but when I get back to my home it's back to the game playing. This weekend I called, nurses like Qwinsha (her given name) need to be recorded and educated on how to speak to family members and stop talking rude, playing people as if I am a belligerent caller who needs to be explained laws when I am fully aware so she has an excuse to hang up on me. When in fact I didn't call to speak to her in the first place after she hung up on me with a snarky laugh I called back to speak with the head nurse, with the assistance of the operator and she kept intervening the call, hanging up on me. As I stated to her and the others, our family has provided a legal physical POA and whatever else TLC requested and it was confirmed several times for me to be able to call. It's time to get to looking for a new facility because I don't have time and neither does my aunt for calling just to see how she is doing and tell her I love her to be treated like this. They rather argue and play power trip games and hang up on family members and I truly believe it's because they have gotten wind of who I am and when I visit I am on it concerning her care and this is a form of punishment. This also seems to be a common theme to punish patients and families for showing concern for their loved ones care. So I suggest to you TLC, education on sensitivity with family. Update records as you are provided correct information. Stop blaming family members and patients for your behavior and making it difficult for us. Excuses from Qwinesha, "her file is so thick", is unacceptable. Withholding and not tell her I love her because she is on a vent because I can't call her is also cruel. According to nurses like Qwinesha "I am not on the POA so we don't need to tell her you love her". "We can't talk to you, your family can sue". You were given a POA legal document, you have verbally been told multiple times by my mother and in my presence I am on the POA so YOU TLC and your records, departments and nurses need to get it together. If you want to truly resolve although we've done multiple times. You would rather play games, even a simple phone call with who you say you have confirmed as POA (my mom) regarding me and furthermore my very own aunt who is of sound mind is able to communicate, ask her. She will tell you. She would be upset to know your hassling me. It feels intentional. Qwinesha wouldn't put me through to head nurse Manny instead hang up on me. I wasn't calling to speak to her after she made it clear she couldn't speak with me. I will not tolerate disrespect. I have been more then respectable and allowed myself, my family and indirectly my aunt to be disrespected long enough. For the most part because I don't want it taken out on my Aunt but enough is enough. read more

My mother had Alzheimer's and was a resident in the 400 unit for 3 1/2 years. She was always clean and well cared for, but what stood out to me was how she was treated with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. I will always be grateful for the care they provided my mother. read more

This facility is horrible! It's so hard to put a loved one into a facility in the first place, but when you go to visit them and they are filthy dirty and you can't find a CNA anywhere around, there's a problem. A BIG PROBLEM! My grandmother has been in this facility for 3 years. My mom lives there so she goes often to visit, and there is always something that has happened to my grandmother and know one has any answers to how it happened. There is a HIGH turn over of employees and the CNA'S can never be found. People are screaming from their rooms for help and there is no one around to help them. The staff talk to the patients as if the patients can answer their questions. They have DEMENTIA. The people who work in these facilities need to have patients, be caring and loving. It's sad that it's all about the money for the administrators and managers that they don't care about their reputation or patients. If your insurance will let you find a better facility for your loved one I say do it. Stay as far away from here as you can. read more

I live out of town and had called to speak with my relative member's nurse to get an update. Frank was the nurse at the time and he had told me he just got on shift and hadn't yet seen her (which wasn't the problem) so then I simply asked them if he could update me on her diagnostic test, labs, plans of care, and mobility/orientation that the previous shift may have passed along in report. And all he could tell me was that he was only told "she's fine". Being a fellow health care provider that is inexcusable to not complete a through report especially to Frank who made it clear he knew nothing about my family member, had never cared for her, and hadn't even seen her yet. He was short when answering my questions and dismissive of my concern (which he brought on himself by disclosing the informal and shit report they clearly give during Change of shift) as well as having a poor attitude. I hope my family never has to be placed in this facility again and should there be no other option I will be calling day and night to stay on top of the care since that doesn't seem to be a priority to the staff. read more

my mother was a patient there for almost 2 months. 2 weeks ago she developed an infection and asked the wound care dr about it, there was a smell. he told her no smell. well his nurse came in 5 days later and noticed the smell and did a cultural on it. 5 days later and the results were in. well by that time family came down and the smell was unbearable. we ended up calling 911 for transport to the hospital and the police to file a report of neglect. my mother had 2 infections, was dehydrated, and the bladder cathedral was the same from 2 months ago! they did not charge the cathedral from the one that the ER had placed in her and she was not bathed down there. the ER was shocked that she was not washed! my mom told us they would wash her only once a week. and when she started to smell with the infections, even physical therapy stopped coming into the room. I can concur about the rudeness of the front desk, and the doctors are no better. when I tried talking to my moms doctor, he had no time for me as he demonstrated by texting on his cell and making uh huh notices to me as I talked and asked questions. I feel TLC is not capable of providing the level of care my mom needed and they should of said so. instead I feel they were in it for the money they could collect off her. the staff is not properly trained and not enough nurses to help with the care. needless to say my mom WON'T be going back and beware for your loved ones. read more

All I can say is I'm disgusted by the nurses they let work here. My family member was on 100 hall. The staff was very nice and understanding besides one person. Has I spent more days there visiting I could see how the lpn Kayla treated patients but other staff members. I could hear outside of the room talking about fellow staff in a very rude way. I sure hope she never talked about my aunt how she did about other people. I heard on multiply occasions talk down in a very mean and demeaning way to the CNAs . I honestly can't believe what she was saying . How she still has a job here is beyond me. She was very nice when she had to be but when no one important was looking she was very nasty. kids are allowed in now to see grandma. plus. unfortunately since management change. they are trying to cut costs any way they can. so they do not provide wipes to clean up the folks after a bowel movement. they are using rough Terry cloth towels wetted with water. this is very painful for the bedridden because of the bed sores. they also do not provide chucks which puts an extra burden on the staff to keep changing the sheets if the diaper leaks. the staff are underpaid and overworked and therefore they cannot keep quality help. my mother has very often sat in her bowel movement for more than two hours as the overworked staff cannot get to her. my mother says they often have given her the wrong pills or not at all when doling out medications and lastly the food used to be quite good but now is really bad and I have to bring mom food for her drawer or she would go hungry. mom says there is no nutritionist on staff. she doesn't like spicy and fried food upsets her tummy. never any fresh fruit EVER, the same scrambled eggs every day the same vegetables every night. and maybe a dessert once a week. like an ice cream cup. one night I came in late. there was no staff at all in two of the nursing stations and one of the elderly residents was getting naked in her wheelchair in the hallway. unless your loved one is able to really stick up for themselves do not put them here. read more

I have spent the last three days visiting my father in TLC's rehab. I read the reviews after I heard where he had been transferred, and was very worried. The good news is that the administration seems to have read the bad reviews, and responded to them. Children are now allowed to visit patients and residents. At no time did the place seem smelly. Nurses, aides, physicians, therapists, everyone was helpful and polite without exception. I did get the feeling that they need more nurses and/or aides, as I almost always had to go looking for someone (say, when my dad wanted to go to the bathroom), and depending on what was going on, they didn't always respond immediately (though often they did). I think I overheard someone say that there's a new administrator, and that wouldn't surprise me. They did seem to be doing the various therapies that they were supposed to. If I could give 3 1/2 stars I would, but this was not the dump described in the 1 star reviews. read more

The absolutely worst facility on the face of the earth from top to bottom. Run not walk away from this place. The quality of care just keeps getting worse and worse and is substandard to say the least . Most of the Nursing staff is unskilled and uncaring. The state is constantly being called in on this facility with reports of substandard patient care. Residents are left urine soaked for hours at a time .It takes forever for call bells to be answered. Families actually take their loved ones out of this facility on a regular basis and have them leave due to the lack of care they are provided. The Administrator is just a warm clueless body who is rude and unethical . She is nothing but a pawn under the New Management who recently took over . The new management team is even more unethical, uncaring and dishonest and happen to all be family. (Husband, wife, Mother) . I assume this review will follow the other ones, so let me begin by saying that as a very recent patient in this Potemkin Village which has the gall to call itself a care center, I'll agree whole-heartedly with the kind of malpractice, ineptitude and laissez-faire approach to medical/physical rehabilitation which they enumerate. I would rather walk barefoot over barbed wire than return there. I should also note that as an elderly senior with multiple surgeries/problems enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan, I have been incarcerated at one point or another over the past ten years in most of the rehab centers in the Las Vegas area. I was told that this one had replaced the worst of them...trust me! they were horrific...but I saw no improvement. Nurses shove medications at you and do no nursing; call-bells go unanswered for what seems like forever especially at night; food arrives but you have to fight to get an alternative (which exists if you ask for it). I had one bath due to a fortuitous circumstance on my arrival from hospital...none for the subsequent nine days of my stay. The PT department is one of the poorest equipped that I've ever experienced. I was discharged with a list of medications including one which my records **clearly show** that I'm ALLERGIC TO (with subsequent major fallout upon my return home.) Yes, some of the staff especially the more specialized ones were doing their best, but I found it amazing that some in central positions could not speak English well enough to be understood. I am also amazed that the facility apparently (at least not in the two rooms I occupied during my stay) is NOT equipped with AMDA-approved handicap-toilets. Rather a pile up of portable commode frames (with dangerous rusty screws sticking out) are substituted to approach a proper heighth. This place is quite literally (remember?) "unsafe at any speed" and I would love to see them punished in the only way that makes any sense: fine them heavily and make them live up to the VERY EMPTY promises which they offer so glibly in their 'Services' section. read more
