This is a small farmers market. If you hit this market on Saturday & the one in Columbia on Sunday…read moreor even Jennie's in New Friendship, and breeze by Franks produce, you'll have everything that you need. So about this market... do not come on any empty stomach. You will buy everything. That's what happened to me. I don't regret it and I'd do it again. I literally went from table to table and purchased. From the cookies, to the flowers, the puffin jars, the handmade jewelry, the salmon candy, the crystals, the freeze dried candy, pastries, the coffee, donuts, the veggies, the microgreens, & the breakfast stand with the fresh juice. It's not too busy and there's plenty of parking. All they need is a grill stand, bakery items, some tables/chairs, tshirts, face painting, music, a bounce house and it would be a party. I will add this to my Saturday routine.

Solid 4 stars for the vendors and ease of parking, although I anticipated more farmer stands…read more DD and I had delicious coffees and a sample of maple salmon candy (yum!). We browsed every vendor's wares and she bought a LOT. Everything from jewelry to apples, fancy yeast rolls to the salmon, and an adorable and very useful bowl cozy* found their way into our cloth bags. *Ever heated something in your microwave, only to have the bowl get too hot to handle? You need one of these! It's microwave safe and does a better job than potholders! We enjoyed our visit so much, we plan to go every Saturday through their final one the first week of October.

I just love this spot. I've been coming here over the years to get my fill of Pennsylvania Dutch…read moretreats, which allows me to get from DC without having to drive all the way to Pennsylvania. This spot has so many wonderful food stands. Upon walking in, you can pick up a cart to explore all of the stands. My kids love this place as much as me since you can find so much variety. Our first stop is the very busy Amish soft pretzel stand. My kids love the standard soft pretzel dipped in melted butter and topped with rock salt. My personal favorite are the stuffed soft pretzels like the pretzels stuffed with roast beef and cooper sharp cheddar. Nothing tastes better! There are also many other stands that offer fresh produce, meats, cheeses and baked goods. I particularly like Bieler's Donuts, the same place you'll find packed lines in Philadelphia right here. It's such a fun place and my kids love it. But most importantly, this is dad's spot!

In the most visually-exciting sequence of Director/Writer Jalmari Helander's 2025 film Sisu: Road…read moreto Revenge, three Soviet Ilyushin II-2 Shturmovik ground-attack planes attempt to bring down the KraZ-214 armored, military-transport truck driven by the hero who single-handedly turned the tide for the Finns in the earlier film and in the sequel, set in 1946. Using his wits, his ingenuity, and unparalleled levels of skill and perseverance, Aatami Korpi, who earns the moniker of "the man who cannot die," escapes not just bombs and machine gun fire but a plane deployed as a missile. And yet, the most moving moment of the film is not found in one of its many arresting action sequences but in a single line of dialogue, spoken by one of six Finnish men, who, along with one teenager and one boy, carrying hatchets, axes, and tools, interrupts the battle-finished Korpi's work on his new home to ask in Finnish, subtitled in English, "We thought you might need some help?" Speechless and shaking with relief and joy, Korpi watches the strangers get to work on his roof, walls, and foundation. That level of kindness, assistance, delight, joy, skill, and service can be seen in every vendor at the Dutch Country Market Thursdays through Saturdays at 9701 Fort Meade Rd in Laurel, MD. Whether it is homemade pretzels, pasta salads, chili, produce, meats, cheeses, popcorn, donuts, or varieties of dark chocolate, candy, or fudge you seek, you will find plenty to whet your appetite. Mind you, most, if not all, of everything contains zero preservatives. Our advice is to buy what you can enjoy soon or share your purchases with company before it's too late.

Just an updated review of how much I love this place. It's been about a year since my last review…read moreand it feels people are a bit more organized with their set up. I still really like Rita's but right across from them is a wonderful charcuterie/beef selection. I usually get their naked bacon and black pepper bacon because my boyfriend loves it. They also sell really good hot dog sausages on the side. Verna's bakery is another up and coming one with their smoothie selection. I'm huge into their green machine. It's busy but everything moves fairly quickly.

My hubby and I caught the tail-end of the market and bought some treats to take home! Veg Heaven - Scrumptious vegan pastries particularly the moist and fluffy blueberry muffin! The banana muffin and apple turnovers are tasty too. While the bbq fried chicken sandwich was fun to try, it was dense and messy. The chocolate eclairs that I got from the Capital Harvest on the Plaza farmers market in DC was divine. The pastries rotate around different farmers markets, will have to check out their Tyson's location! Twin Valley Distilleries - The whiskey and flavored rum tasting was too tempting to pass up a bottle! The sweetness of the fresh juices perfectly masked the rum, cutting the alcohol content to 15% ABV. Refreshing and perfect for a warm summer day with a nice kick! We bought all 3 flavored rums at $25/each - Hibiscus Sorrel, Fruit Punch, and Pineapple. Potomac Sweets - The croissants and decadent pastries looked scrumptious! Although the pastries are stored in a glass display case, they are still baking under the sun and are dry and stale. The brownie was alright. Recommend grabbing a pastry here bright and early when the market opens. Senzu Juice - Refreshing cold-pressed juices. The "Refresh" Watermelon Mint juice is my favorite. Liberty Delight Farms - All sorts of dog goodies from raw bones to chunky pieces of dried beef heart and chicken/beef liver. Treat your dog at the market! Great place to grab some breakfast and some treats to take home!
