AAR not only responded quickly, but Sandy who I corresponded with was so caring and amazing. When I dropped the little dog off Sandy showed me the facility and it's beautiful! It definitely was a relief to know that the little guy would be in good hands. Sandy even said she'd be happy to update me on the dog's shelter journey up until adoption! I'm so grateful for rescues like AAR and the volunteers who work there because they are helping strays like the little guy I found have a chance at a new and better life. Highly recommend.

So the tour consists of about a thirty or forty minute presentation.Where you're in a semicircle, and they talk all about the difference between wolves and dog wolves and what it takes to be able to have any of these creatures. They discussed so many things, but it is all educational and interesting. On premise: there isn't much available on premise, but if you take about a ten minute drive, you will find places to eat and places to get gas. You will, however find clean bathrooms and we'll find a pretty cute gift shop. There is even some artwork that the pups themselves have made. Value - 15 per person for all 6 and above. In general, I feel it is very worth it and you are there at least a solid hour if not longer. In general - everyone should go, they are doing amazing work, and its highly educational! Love it!

They were very unprofessional and rude. They told us the dog is our responsibility and we have to figure it our ourselves. She's such a sweet dog, and they genuinely made me want to write a bad review and I rarely write any reviews. So whoever the guy was that we dealt with, respectfully he should not be working in customer service if all he is going to do is be rude and disrespectful.

On April 11, I adopted a very sweet brown tabby cat through the organization, PetsAlive. I named…read moremy new cat Theodore and was told that Theo had been found on the streets and had recently had scabies, eye surgery and skin issues - all of which seemed to be healing nicely. I was never told of his extensive dental disease or that he had feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). I noticed that Theo's energy level seemed a little low, but he was eating very well and didn't display any signs of digestive issues. I DID notice that his breath was very smelly, so I took him to my veterinarian. The long story made short is that Theo will have to have several teeth extracted and his length and quality of life could be affected because bloodwork showed that he is positive for FIV. I have requested that PetsAlive take care of the dental issues Theo has since I can't afford thousands of dollars for teeth to be extracted. My concern of permanently returning Theo to PetsAlive is that his cycle of being an unwanted rescue cat will continue. His life could be one of going from adoption site to adoption site and never being adopted because of his bad teeth and FIV diagnosis. Please be aware that, according to my veterinarian, there are several no kill shelters that DON'T test animals for FIV or leukemia. Before you adopt an animal, please ask if the animal has been thoroughly tested for diseases that could affect the animal's health and wellbeing.

(Even from other shelters) Even if you don't find your baby here your better off donating here or volunteering here rather than places that put animals down within 3 days. All of the cats are spayed/neutered and have all of their shots for $95. When I came too visit they had over 200 cats and a few kittens but I came early in the season for kittens. I will be checking here often for the one.
