First time trying Filipino food, and it was so good!! I didn't even know this place existed until I saw an instagram reel. I've been inside of this HEB before, but I never noticed the restaurant, probably because the times that I went it was already closed since it was late at night. There wasn't really a menu, so I just went with the classics - chicken adobo and chicken lumpia. The chicken was super flavorful and tender. The chicken lumpia was so crunchy and delicious. It comes with a dipping sauce. Once I got to the bottom of the styrofoam box though, I realized some of the styrofoam had melted, most likely because they had freshly fried the rolls and placed it into the box, so it was piping hot. As I was waiting for my chicken lumpia to come out, I noticed that people usually just order the combo meal which is 2 entrees with a side of rice for $10.99. They have a bunch of protein to choose from. I'll definitely try that next time. The halo halo was everything I imagined it to be. It was so creamy and not too overly sweet. It was refreshing! There's a ton of different toppings at the bottom- red bean, flan, fruit jellies, etc. The ube ice cream was great, and it gave the drink the nice purple color. This spot was pretty busy at the hour I went, but the wait time wasn't too bad since I was having a conversation with a friendly customer. I'll be back again! read more

Mrs and & I finally made it back to this Filipino cafeteria inside the HEB to try some of the steam table offerings. We went with pork sisig (meat from the head including the ears), veggie pancit (clear noodle), and BBQ pork skewers. We shared with our youngest daughter. Everything were seasoned and cooked well. Finally awarding a 4 star. Before the renovation I tried this place. So disappointed with the quality. The Pork BBQ was very chewy & tasted old or may have been reheated many times. Lechon paksiw was ok. Rice was old. Fast forward: after the renovated kiosk, the quality has greatly improved. The pork BBQ taste way better, the chicken BBQ however was tough & dry, I guessed the sugar hardened the meat. Their Kaldereta version is on point, so thats my regular order for the multiple dine in & to go trips. Dinuguan was very flavorful, my mom loved it. Veggie dishes were not overcooked. Love the shrimp Ukoy @ $2.50 each. However, their servings are inconsistent. The younger lady's serving was so disappointing. I try to avoid her when I am there LoL. Thus the 4 star. She gave me a pathetic all bone kaldereta combo. The old lady and I think a gentleman from the kitchen were more generous and worth the $7 & $5 value plate. So maybe Mgmt can guarantee to be more consistent. Cuz every time these servers pack my to go it was generous servings. I don't mind paying but make the servings more consistent. Do not order a lechon from here unless you want to be extremely frustrated and embarrassed at your party. This was our first time ordering here and it was a gift for our nieces 1st birthday. As soon as one of our Titos cut open the lechon he immediately noticed that there was barely any meat inside and was mostly filled with herbs. And the little meat that was inside was so dry. The skin tasted old and had rubber-like texture per multiple guests at the party. Many people kept asking where we purchased it because it was one of the worst lechons they have ever tasted. It was pretty embarrassing for us. The lechon was barely touched and we paid for the "large" lechon for 270 bucks! We called the restaurant the following day and the reasoning was "that's how it is" and that "pigs here (in the U.S) are really that thin". What? They also said that we should've tasted the skin prior to leaving the restaurant. Just a tip I guess if any of you are thinking or ordering from here. They were extremely unapologetic to their dissatisfied customers. They gave us 30 bucks in refund, probably to just shut us up, but honestly that is not even enough to cover the gas/time & embarrassment we received.
