Typical cafeteria style Filipino foods shack. My wife and I shared a combo plate consisted of shell on shrimps and veggies cooked in coconut sauce, bone in chicken with green soup, and white rice. We also got a ube cake square and biko sweet sticky rice square for desert. The soup and shrimp entres were delicious. I couldn't get enough of that coconut sauce which had a little heat. The deserts were also very good. I liked that the ube cake was not over sweet. The prices were more than appropriate foe such quality foods. The employees were very friendly and helpful. I'm from Southern California visiting my grandma in Houston. My grandma wanted to take me here because it's a new Filipino food location in the area. We are Filipino, so we always want to support our culture's food. Since they have been open, my grandma has visited two times and today was her third time. We went at 11:45am and had to wait at least ten minutes for someone to serve us. There was one lady working both the cashier and serving. Another lady came out -we thought she would serve us- but went to talk to a group behind us. My grandma, already hungry before we arrived and being forced to wait basically shouted "nagugutom na ako (I'm hungry)!" to the cashier lady. The slow service was Not because they were busy. There was only one table occupied when we arrived. I had the lunch combo with pakbet and pork bbq. My grandma had pakbet and pompano paksiw. For the two of us, it came out to $15 and some change. The serving size was small... Especially with my grandma's serving of paksiw, I thought it was the smallest fish sliver ever! As if you can lay down 10 dimes or so and that's your slice. At the end of the meal, neither of us were full. I felt like it was lacking. Additonally, our food was not hot or warm. You could tell it was cooked and left on the serving table. They opened at 11am, so it wasn't even an hour since they opened. I would assume their serving tables are equipped with warmers underneath, but either it wasn't on or it just doesn't seem to work. I asked my grandma to rate the place after we left. She said the food was "maybe 3 stars." I removed a star because of 1) how long we had to wait before being served and 2) because my food was served room temperature. There aren't that many good Filipino food places in Houston. I understand this location is new. However, if they want to keep loyal patrons, there is still much work to be done on their end. Would I recommend this place? Probably not. It's nowhere near the Filipino fast food places I am used to in SoCal. Despite the drive, I would rather go to Filipiniana or Gerry's Grill. However, come in and check it out for yourself. read more

Best place to get Filipino food in Ft Bend/Katy, TX! Food: The food is served cafeteria style. Its not buffet. You get a plate of like 2 entrees and rice. My wife ordered beef kaldereta and lechon paksiw. I got the bbq chicken and chicken adobo. All of it was really good! My friends said the dinuguan was really good. Ill get that next time! They also had shrimp fritters call ukoy and fresh lumpia. My wife loved the fresh lumpia. Especially with the sauce. The owner also makes banana chips at another one of her store called Isabelle's on hwy6. U see her chips in asian supermarkets and stores around town. So she knows how to cook! We also took home a box of fried squid which we couldnt stop eating at home! Place: The place is a good size and there should be plenty of tables. Lots of parking. Its in a strip center. Service: Being cafeteria style, it was quick getting food. The owner was really nice to talk to. They are still new so they are still settling in. What happened to all the Filipino servers???they used to have good service. They just gave 3 slices of lechon kawali and when I asked for just the soup for sinigang she just added a few drops and this is 2x that i asked. The container is not even full. Sinigang is not sinigang if not a lot of soup. I still have to find out how much meat in there. Hahahaha. 1 torta eggplant also costs $3.50. Sorry but not coming back. It's really hard to make a bad lumpia, the flavor was good, the cost for a tray was good, and they literally had it done within 1hr of me calling it in. My coworkers loved it, and I really can't give more praise then that! The service always really good, and prompt! I came back the second time for halo halo and sunsrival. Do not judge me. HORRIBLE. Filipino food nearby so I along with two others decided to give it a try. The selection of prepared hot foods is pretty limited compared to other places. When you order the combo plate, be prepared to WAIT and WAIT and WAIT. The lady packing the food is SLOW. She will literally go through the entire food pan to pick and choose the pieces of food to ensure you will not get too much food. This essentially means the serving sizes are small. She does this with every side you order. She then proceeds to slowly bag your food. Ringing up your purchase follows next. Overall it's a long and slow process before you walk out the door with your food. The food is another fail. I have never seen so much grease in a container of food. Every container was packed full of grease with a little bit of meat. I also ordered a side of the pancit. I can definitely say it was one of the worst tasting I've had in quite a while. After one bite, I had to throw it in the pan to add additional ingredients to make it marginally edible. Next time I'm in the mood for Filipino food, I'll drive the extra few miles to the next store over. read more

Eat & Out is a new Filipino restaurant in the Fort Bend/Katy area. We didn't try the food yet because we had eaten before coming here, but the halo halo was refreshing. It comes in a big glass so you can see all the layers of different toppings including coconut, red beans, leche flan, ube, shaved ice, evaporated milk, ice cream, jackfruit, and so much more. Their halo halo definitely has that wow factor when it comes out because it's a pretty big serving, it can be shared between 2 people for sure. They just newly opened like couple months ago. They are beside the Insurance agency. The building they are at still has an old name of the previous restaurant- LA Cusine. I love their Fresh Lumpia. I usually go there for fish. I like their Halo-Halo as well. I had seen they have Ube Halaya, Leche Flan and Brazos which they make in house. Lots of ulam everyday to choose from..sinigang, adobo, pancit, grilled pork or chicken, bistek, crispy pata, menudo, kare-kare,etc. So glad they opened in Katy. The guy who is serving the food you order is not wearing gloves but that's ok but he is the same guy that sweep the floor held the cover of the big trash can and went back to serve food in the counter without washing hands.
