I was in Litchfield, looking for an early coffee spot. Toast & Co was the one. I arrived at an Order Window (apparently there is inside dining from another entrance). One person was waiting for their order, but otherwise there was no line to order. I waited a few minutes before any of the few workers in the kitchen came over to greet me. A friend was telling me he had a similar experience. Seems like there should be a better way. I just wanted a Black Iced Coffee and it was delivered not long after I ordered. This is one of my favorite places in Litchfield. The vibe inside is so warm and calm. They have lots of seating with gorgeous decor all around you. Everything from the tables to the art work on the walls is so pretty. You can also order ahead of time and pickup your order at the front window. The staff is always so nice! They offer a corner with items to purchase, such as key chains and sweatshirts! Their coffee and pastries are so good!! That's usually my go to!! The service was great. Very nice and fast. Their egg sandwich was wonderful happy it was on ciabatta. Their maple iced latte was pretty good I did have a better one later in the day. Adorable interior and very nice staff . Really cool t shirts , stickers and hats for sale. Staff and service was extremely slow. I owned a deli for 10 years but there was no excuse to wait 4o minutes for 2 bagels & avacado toast. We had arrived there before the breakfast crowd so it wasn't like the place was slammed. When I went up to the counter and asked how much longer it would take the lady had a puzzled look on her face when I showed her our ticket. Food was at best , mediocre. A small 10 oz juice in a plastic container was 8.00 . The egg on a cinnamon bagel was highly recommended. Trust me , we don't recommend it. We asked for it to be easy over- it was overly well done. My avacado toast while pretty to look at was the saddest little portion I've ever eaten . This is my favorite thing to order when I go out so I was very disappointed with it. Our 3 sandwiches with 1 coffee, 1 bottle of water and a 8.00 plastic container of OJ was 58.00 with a tip. New York prices for high school cafeteria food. Not good. read more

This cafe is my go-to spot for lunch in Litchfield. The sandwiches here are always very tasty. On my most recent visit, I enjoyed the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich (minus the pickles). It offered just a touch of sweetness with wonderfully soft bread. I paired it with the lemonade special that blended strawberry and kiwi and it was a very generous serving. I have to mention the new addition with indoor seating. It is such a cozy venue with great touches, including artwork on the walls and clever reclaimed windows embedded into the tables. I was particularly impressed by the woodwork on display. There is a bench that I learned was created by Pinnacle Carpentry from reclaimed chestnut wood and the large table came from a building dating back to the 1700's in Milton. Wonderful to see the owners giving new life to these pieces in such an innovative way. read more

I drove for almost an hour to the most adorable coffee shop. Toast & Co is the big sister to Crumbs, which I have recently visited and really enjoyed! Just like Crumbs they have a wall full of inspirational words left by guests. They have beautiful flowers painted all over the interior. I went here with my mom. She ordered a cappuccino, I got the Hot Peppermint Bark Latte. The tables are so unique. I have never seen something like this before. They are glass top tables, with a window frame inside, and each section of the window has a little painting in it. Of course each table has a different painting! Our coffees were brought out to us! They don't yell out your name when it's ready. After you place your order, you can find a seat, then they will bring you your coffee! My mom loooved her Cappuccino! "Ohh this is soo good" was her initial reaction. I have only seen her react this way when she's at Giv Coffee! My Peppermint Bark Latte was also very tasty! It came in a large cup when I ordered a small. It came with whipped cream and a crushed candy cane on top. This was made with white mocha as the base. It was very lightly peppermint, which I prefer anyway. They also make some delightful looking breakfast and lunch options at Toast & Co. My partner and I wanted a scrumptious breakfast after a late night. Toast came up as one of the best options in the area. I can see why! It has a huge menu! It's still only a pickup window. Toast continues to grow. Since the pandemic eased, they have added a rather large indoor dining area with tables spaciously placed and a counter for ordering. So now they accommodate customers at their outdoor tables in the front weather permitting or in this dining area. Nice choices. The best toast in town! The mozzarella pesto and tomato toast was amazing. The pesto was so fresh and thick, I've never had anything like it. Most times, I get pesto, it's oily, and this was more like a paste, so rich in flavor, I thoroughly was impressed. I literally had to ask the barista where they get it from. The quality of the food and drink was on point, and the toast was perfectly cooked. Crispy yet chewy. The decor was cozy and cute, and the restaurant was nice and clean. The tables had glass windows with art pieces inside, which I thought was a cool idea. Also, the smores coffee cold brew with marshmallow sweet cream was delicious. The Honey Nut Cheerio latte and pumpkin cream cold brew are both delicious but the star of the show is the Balsamic Onion Jam Chicken Sandwich. It's amazing. Not too onion-y, bacon, melty cheese, and tender chicken...delish! My usual complaint is the wait time, but lately it's been reasonable. Such a cute breakfast/brunch/lunch joint! Visiting the area from Florida and found Toast and Co on Yelp! We had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Perfect size. The bread was soft and toasted just enough. Good sandwich. We also tried the avocado toast. Two slices of a multigrain bread with mashed avocado, tomato, and feta cheese. Nice selection to share and tasty! My boyfriend also wanted to try a fall special sandwich which was grilled chicken, cheese, and honey crisp apple! We split everything and it was all delicious! The chicken with apple might have edged out the others if I'm forced to pick. Those magical, honey crisp apples! Yes! I got a fall special nutty, maple latte and my boyfriend got a spiced tea. He really liked his. Mine tasted great but I would have preferred ot warmer. I know a latte isn't supposed to be served piping hot but it was cold out and I would have preferred it. Absolutely love this place. I've been quite a few times since they opened and love their new walk up window for take out and I have yet to check out the dining spot. I enjoyed the original shop so I'm sure the new edition is beautiful and I can't wait to have a seat the next time I go. After a beautiful walk in the woods I decided to stop and get a bevy before I headed home. They have new specials for May and I opted for then Butterfly Pea Flower Lemonade and I added lavender flavoring and lavender cold foam. Craving the food and drinks the moment I got in my car to leave! Met a friend here for coffee around 11am. It was easy to find but the parking lot was relatively small and busy. (It seems like it's a one way, but it's not) I drove around a bit and was able to eventually get a spot from someone who picked up an order. The entrance for sit down is on the side of the building and the inside is very cute and hipster. There is a good amount of seating and a nice cozy spot with a small heater. There were a lot of basic options: coffee, teas, smoothies, espresso but as someone who hadn't been there before it was a little confusing to read the menu (now I'm realizing flavors were to the right and there was a lot more variety)! All of the beverages I had were off the specials menu and they were phenomenal. Perfectly sweet and refreshing with bold flavors. But the highlight was the Hot Honey sandwich. WOW it was a burst of flavors and fresh ingredients, and not spicy just perfect! I got mine without cheese but I think it would be yummy either way. read more

No complaints about my experience with toast & co. They had an outdoor walk up window to order on one side, and pick up on the other. Then you can either take it to go or eat at the picnic tables out front. I ordered a small iced latte with oat milk. This was a good size for small. The flavor was so smooth and light. It made the drink quite enjoyable but may not be strong enough for some. I also ordered avocado toast and added over easy eggs. This was quite tasty and a good portion size. I tried to visit Toast & Co for lunch. Even though they still had their lunch specials posted on a white board outside when I walked in, they announced they closed their griddle early and were no longer serving lunch. Honestly, it was a griddle, not a grill so we're not talking a lot of cleanup and if you're going to close down lunch before everything else, remove your lunch sign. The stars are basically for nice decor and that they allow customers to use their bathroom. Hopefully one day I'll be able to try them again. read more
