I had a great lunch today at Tina's Cafe. The tomato soup was incredibly creamy and delicious. Paired with a grilled cheese (created with cheddar) was perfectly browned. The service was very good (with the owner coming out from the kitchen to verify my dining companions' orders). It is a very cozy place for lunch. We were in the area and searched for a lunch spot, this place popped up and we were not disappointed. It's a cute little sandwich shop on the main street amongst other businesses in Torrington. They had a great selection on their menu. I got some coffee and a sandwich. The Gobbler Sandwich which was $10.99; it had tender white turkey, moist stuffing, cranberry sauce, and a light spread of mayo on the bread which was toasted and came with garlic spread. My husband's chicken salad also looked delicious. We had a good meal and great service and look forward to going back soon. read more

This place has a lot of potential but unfortunately I did not have a great experience my first time. They're supposedly a cafe and bakery - but they somehow ran out of whole milk and there was no decaf (one of our party was pregnant so couldn't have a full coffee). Instead, we ordered the chai tea which came highly recommended, but that was just the beginning... They warned us it would take a while to make. "A while" ended up being close to 30 minutes. Originally asked for an iced chai but they gave us a hot chai instead. It tasted fantastic but wasn't what we ordered! However, the staff are lovely and very nice people. It's a very slow pace so I'd go elsewhere if you're in a rush. Hope to have a better experience if I ever come back. read more

We found ourselves in this quaint town of Torrington CT and were looking for a place to grab lunch and found Tina's Cafe. We ordered the Chicken Bacon cheese quesadilla and the turkey bacon and cheese spinach wrap both were extremely tasty! The sour cream and pico de gallo was phenomenal and the wrap came with the side of hummus and carrots which we chose, the hummus was fantastic with just the right amount of garlic that gave it a little extra zing. The place is consistent, it makes solidly good food with fresh & quality ingredients. Soups are excellent also. The owner is sweet, and it is obvious she loves what she does. I'm not even the type that writes reviews but this baked potato was worthy of it. A Big Potato topped with Cheese, Chili, Broccoli, Sour cream, bacon, chives and butter topped with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. And it is hands down the best I ever had. The store is locally owned and operated and that's all I've been supporting during Covid. The place was spotless and the staff super friendly. Ohhhh and the smoothies to die for! I wish this place all the luck during these times as they deserve it. Also the ability to order online made the work order super easy to place. I've given it 5 stars as 10 was not an option. First of all- they're on 38 main, not east main. It's right next to Warner Theatre. The food and service are excellent and fantastic respectively. The chicken wrap was fresh and very tasty. As soon as you walking the door it is like you have been welcome home, the owner is one of the friendliest people I have ever met, and her daughter is equally amazing. Although we do not live in Torrington, I make sure we are there at least a few times a month just to visit S&S! Was at Warner Theater with my girlfriend for a show... needed a bite to eat so we found this spot. Very cozy, the owner and staff were as friendly as could be. I got a chicken salad wrap that was very good. It's not like a super posh panini and espresso joint, but they are fantastic at what they do, which is a more homey folksy feel, simple food, straight coffee, and a little area where they sell jewelry and trinkets too. Oh, and when I accidentally left without my card, the owner ran after us in the freezing cold to give it to me! That says a lot to me about commitment to customer service. Cafe 38 catered a simple lunch for 20 people that I selected with their help. We had a wrap assortment platter, garden salad, and fruit salad. The wraps were very tasty and had something for everyone's tastes. Both the garden and fruit salad were nice and fresh. They delivered promptly at a local winery for my group and I .
