a bagel with eggs and bacon

Quaint, cute little hidden gem in the Litchfield-Bantam area. This place is great! They offer breakfast and lunch with a variety of fresh baked goodies! From breakfast bowls to omelettes to egg sandwiches you can choose from their menu or make your own creation. They also have lattes, cappuccino, coffee, iced coffee, tea.. anything you'd like! I had a cappuccino and a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel and both were delicious. Fresh, made to order, and totally hit the spot on a beautiful Sunday morning after a workout. I imagine their lunch is great too- I saw some of their soups and prepared tuna salad and some to-go salads. Everything looked delicious. Try this place! They are wonderful.

Yogurt parfait- Mesmerizing! - Perfect amount of granola adds to the crunchy texture mixed with all the berries under the rainbow

I Love Heart's Bakery! Customer Service is great. Food is A+ People are all really friendly. They want you to enjoy their creation.

A very cute and quaint eclecticly decorated bakery cafe who's owner and workers are pleasant and accommodating. We had some delicious baked goods and a very tasty cup of coffee. I highly recommend stopping by on a Sunday afternoon, its well worth the visit.

Food is ok. The staff is not the friendliest. Customer service needs improvement, a nice welcome, or hello would be a good start.

And unlike their incredibly high-priced restaurant across the street, al Tavolo, you might actually afford to eat here. The owners have done an admirable creating an environment that's comfortable and low-key without sacrificing their commitment to quality. After all, the phrase "a mano" translates to "by hand," reflecting how the vast majority of items here are made from scratch on site. I come here often for their coffee, which I love for its balance and low acidity compared to Starbucks, etc. But the real star of the show here are the pastries, such as a layered s'more bar the size of a small brick; a variety of gourmet doughnuts (my favorite is the lemon-filled); and "cruffins," a combination of croissant and muffin with a delicious cream filling. My usual go-to are their bagels: slightly crispy on the outside, pillowy on the inside. There's also a full sandwich and salad menu with breakfast and lunch options including salads, sandwiches, a quiche of the day, and other specials. Their breakfast egg sandwiches -- seemingly modeled on the now-famous one at Sagaponack General Store in the Hamptons -- are especially popular. While $13 for a basic egg sandwich is a bit ridiculous even for a gourmet one, you'll have little complaint once you have a taste. While you're perusing the menu and pastries, don't forget to check out the well-stocked selection of farm-fresh cheeses and other Arethusa Farm products. And, if you've got room aftewards, don't forget to stop at the Arethusa Farm Dairy Store for some ice cream -- it's also across the street, next to Arethusa al Tavolo. (Disclaimer: I grew up in the area, though I don't know any former or current employees of Arethusa.)

So we packed up the car and took my 89 y/o mom there, got her out of the car, got her seated, waited in the line for ten minutes ordered my oatmeal and was told " we don't have oatmeal." I suggested to the lovely young blond lady that "they should update their menu." She did not say sorry or even acknowledge what I was saying, and just smiled at me. We left disappointed. But nothing was more disappointing than Jackie's down the road. Don't ever go there. We love Arethusa, but this experience was a real miss. Hope they update their menu.

Horrible experience. Hot cakes and a hot mess!…read more Walked in with my 89 year-old mom. Was told to take a seat on the bar side but we preferred sitting on the other side by the windows because it was sunny and my mom wanted the sunlight on her. The ONLY server motioned for my mom to get up from the table because the "section" was closed. There was no indication that the section was closed when we sat ourselves. I wasn't having my elderly mom get up. The owner (Jackie herself) came over and rudely huffed and puffed asked us to move 12 feet to the other section. We left. On the way out I remarked "your server couldn't just walk an extra ten steps?" She had no words except to storm away nearly plowing over my mom. Not accommodating the elderly is disrespectful. Having one server on a Sunday morning is a service failure that your customers should never have to pay for with rudeness and disrespect. Her business has not been doing well for a decade and it's evident in the upkeep of her establishment. There is a musty smell in her carpet, and as a staunch advocate for women's businesses my entire 30+ career helping build hundreds of women owned businesses with my marketing services, she should consider hiring proper staff and making over the dilapidated interior and exterior and treating people kindly. This is not a business for people who operate on rage, nerves and anger. At this point she's only keeping the business open for income and not to properly serve her community. As a Litchfield resident for 20+ years we deserve better than this mess. I suggest people read how they insulted customers in the other post 3 days ago-- calling them "karens." The next time Jackie tries to mow over a customer (my mom) by huffing and puffing and storming away carelessly, she'll likely have to deal with an assault charge. Try Arethusa A Mano, Patty's, or Toast & Co for great service and quality. Avoid Jackie at all costs.

We dined with a small party in a private room, warm and comfy, and boasting elegant, polished service from a sharp and friendly team of servers. Excellent. For Easter, we were given a prix fixe menu ($150 per) that provided some fine choices among appetizers, entrees and desserts. The appetizers included octopus, quail and some super tasty (and NOT overcooked) seared tuna. Delicious. The entrees included duck and chicken but all of us deferred to the tenderloin which was perfectly cooked to our preference, tender and ... well, just what we wanted. Add in the desserts and the drinks -- lots of specialty beverages. all on the pricey side -- and we were totally satisfied. Not a complaint in the group. The three ladies running their business are all Brits! Alison, Clare and Deb are so welcoming and they come complete with their authentic British dialects. The inside is very small, homey and comfortable. There's so much British decor and delicate fine china everywhere. Their menu is broad with an assortment of tea of course, scones, sandwiches, soups and salads. I got the Rose Lemonade tea, with a scone. It came with a side of jam and cream. The presentation is stunning. Everything arrived on beautiful fine china, even the little dish for the honey. My friend also got their Chicken Salad Sandwich. I am so impressed, the scone was so fresh and tasty on its own, but adding that jam takes it to a new level. The tea was flavorful and rich.
