Went for breakfast this morning! Got there around 9 and grabbed a table right away. Service was great! I didn't catch our waitresses name but she was as so so sweet! There are only three booths, a four top and two top table and about 8 counter stools so come early or be prepared to wait! We ordered biscuits and gravy with poached eggs, country fried steak and a pancake to split. I will say the pancake was awesome (and huge), fluffy but also substantial and great flavor! The gravy was a bit runny/loose but the biscuits were good and my poached eggs were cooked well! Overall I'd definitely come back and try other things on the menu! read more

10 out of 10! Walking in for my first time I was greeted by friendly smiles and "good mornings" from both Karen and Helen. The food was excellent and was sold on the hot Italian sausage which was a fantastic choice. If you walk in and find a one or two minute wait just know it's worth it! Surreal experience the other day here. Lights and signs are on, so I figured I'd try to walk in on break to order takeout. I keep driving by this place but the plaza is so cluttered and small I never think to go. Upon awkwardly walking in the lady at the counter told me they were closed, and asked, "What, did you want a coffee or something?" The attitude was so uncomfortable and I felt so weird for having walked into a completely open business with its lights on. If that's the energy you give after leaving yourself open on accident, I kind of have no interest to come in on a day you're actually open. read more

So, normally I will pick a place based on Yelp reviews, but as soon as I saw that they serve biscuits and gravy, I knew it was the place to go. This place is in a very small plaza, when we entered it had a lot of customers so we sat at the counter. I had a make your own omelet, home fries and fresh biscuits. Everything was delicious, and the portions were huge, so we got to take our leftovers home. The staff was friendly as well as the other patrons. On a side note, I saw someone's plate and they had these HUGE Pancakes, so if you like pancakes I guess this is the place to go. read more

Went there for and bacon eggs and cheese on a hard roll, it was about 7 bucks. I think it's the best egg and cheese in Torrington. The salads looked great too. Only thing is it's great for takeout because the restaurant is super small. It's super hard to get a table sat and sun in the morning. I recommend this small business with amazing food. After we ordered, 5 phone orders came in, one that resulted in 5 food containers and several breakfast sandwiches. Now, seeing that we had taken the time to come in and sit down, you'd think that our food would be out first. Nope, all the phone orders were completed before our food came out. It's a spot that only the locals would know about. When I first approached this place I was a little skeptical. The place was relatively busy but the lady was super sweet and nice. We went hungry so we ordered a lot of food. This place has only one cook and it's Angie herself! You can tell she cooks dang good! We offered their churro French toast which was yumm-O! I ordered the veggie omelette with home fries and one lemon blueberry pancake. The home fries had the best crisp to them and plenty of flavor. Thank goodness I only got 1 pancake because it was the size of the plate. My husband got corn beef hash with eggs over easy. The hash was right on the money. Fresh not greasy and nice heaping for the sunny side up eggs. The food is so good! I'm glad this place is far from me because if I lived closer I would be a regular. One thing I would say that kind of bugged me was how she cleaned the tables. I had to wipe it down my on my side to make sure I felt comfortable. When I questioned the difference I was told "special" did not include home fries or coffee plus there was a surcharge because I paid with a credit card. Run as fast as you can away from this place. We ordered two of Today's Specials -- the Boston Creme pancakes and the Chicken Fried Steak smoothed in sausage gravy. I actually thought I had died and went to heaven. Pancakes are always fluffy & extremely tasty, the sausage gravy was loaded with big chucks of sausage. Angie's is a little nugget of a breakfast/brunch bistro tucked away on Torrington's North Elm St. they've been open during the past year relying on curbside/restaurant pickup and in -store customers but following state guidelines on distance and such. Let's get to the great breakfast dishes available. My favorite now is the multi-grain banana pancakes with bacon and hash browns. It's a generous helping of pancakes with real banana meat inside the huge pancakes and their tasty fresh made home fries, plus a generous portion of bacon. Any dish is great and the atmosphere is friendly . Angie takes pride in every dish and mom takes your order. Angie's breakfast/brunch menu offers a lot of tasty pickings. Food here is really good but don't expect good service unless you're a local. I'd recommend Togo pickup or delivery. Wouldn't recomm eat here if you're in a hurry or on a lunch break. Just want to add that we ordered food Togo when we placed our order at the beginning. Waited 40 minutes AFTER we finished eating and never got the Togo order even after asking for it and paying for it AND telling our server we needed to leave to be somewhere for a certain time. So yes, to the gentleman that commented on this review earlier, my opinion AND experience is that this place does deserve one star. If I wanted good food with bad service I have a number of choices to go to for that. read more

This cafe has a parking lot, 3 booths, a table and lots of counter seating. Clean and friendly service. The breakfast menu has a wide range and specials. Tried this place this morning. I was asked if I'd like a coffee before I even sat down, prompt service is a plus. Unlike a previous review from another patron, they do have a bathroom for customers. I had a coffee with an order of chocolate chip banana pancakes that were excellent and a generous portion for the money. I will return for another meal here. But what really stands out to me is if you get here at rush hour, you may find yourself witnessing, or brought into, lively political talk. In my opinion it really doesn't matter if you're with these guys or against their staunch beliefs, it can be very entertaining. The crowned prince of Angie's, 77-year-old Jim is gentle, yet firm in telling it as he sees it. His court, perhaps, is a bit louder, but these guys definitely won't bite. We were able to transition the conversation to calmer topics, such as skydiving and flying hot air balloons. Come for a basic breakfast or lunch, for sure. But stick around for the great conversation in this tiny place. You won't regret it. read more

Service was fast & friendly, coffee refills were fresh and timely, prices were extremely reasonable, and food was de-lish! My friend's breakfast sandwich and potatoes were reported as really good; other buddy's short stack of blueberry pancakes was short (2) but they were every bit as large as the plate and reportedly awesome. Waaay more food than he anticipated! My Western omelette with Kielbasa & cheese was perfectly cooked, and most importantly, the home fries.... I am picky about breakfast potatoes, and 95% of them out there are disappointing. Not these!!!! Nicely crisped but not burnt with a soft center, lightly salted and wonderfully seasoned. It is very nice to have a good local coffee shop making real, actually cooked on the premises food! Angie's serves real eggs that have been near a chickens hind quarters, not the frozen microwaved factory pseudo egg product that you get at the giant corporate coffe shop. Always the most delicious breakfast. Angie is a fabulous cook. Breakfasts there are the best and her potatoes especially are to die for! Only complaint is that I am always given milk for my coffee when most people need at least 1/2 and 1/2 if not cream. Have never had ANYTHING That was not fabulous here. I almost hate to write this review because the place is so small that I would hate for it to become overly crowded but it really is the best breakfast in the area! read more
