They're always fresh and very good size. It looks like any typical donut shop that you've been to. Nothing really stands out except that really intense smell of FRESHNESS. So good in the air. Three service is also always great. They're so kind and genuine here. Always great hospitality and very nice people serving you. They have some deal that they sell you the donuts at a discounted rate after like 5 or 6 o'clock . Something like that. I was so surprised that they offer this. I still remember the first time here when they told me about that and I took advantage of it and bought more than I originally planned on getting. I think it's a great concept I've never encountered elsewhere and think more donut places should adopt their truly great concept. Makes sense instead of throwing donuts away at the end of the day. The coffee here is terrible. Unfortunately, this is my second visit and the first time was equally bad. I ordered the hot coffee and it was burnt and old tasting but I chalked it up to a bad batch. This time I tried the iced coffee. No excuse other than old beans, poor quality/equipment/service etc. I have never bought a coffee from a coffee shop that tasted so bad. How anyone who runs a "for-profit" business could have the audacity to sell this is beyond me. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. *Also, worth noting, the signage inside of this location has not been changed in years, (shark week 2017 advertisements ?!) Does not speak too well for the rest of the establishment. If they can't be bothered with maintaining the lobby, what else are they not doing? I can tell you without a doubt they're not serving decent edible or even palatable coffee. There are far too many options in the area to bother with this one. There is not just donuts at The Donut Station. Great first experience here. I have been wanting to try the donuts here for a few months after hearing about them on restaurant.com. We had to go to Social Security office in Torrington, The Donut Station is a few minutes away. When the opportunity presents itself, go for it. Lots of great donut selections. I loved the chocolate frosted and glazed. I had a small bite of the blueberry which is very good also. They also have some delicious egg sandwiches. I got the bacon egg and cheese on a roll which was good. I tried a bite of my daughter's sausage egg and cheese on a croissant, sadly it was better than mine. I chose wrong this day. Plenty of drink options, including coffee which some have raved about. I didn't try the coffee so I cannot give an opinion. You can take out, sit inside at a booth, or go to the drive-through. Later in the day they discount the donuts. Definitely stop by here for a donut and an egg sandwich. read more

"There are you, you drive like a demon from station to station" (David Bowie) We were running errands in Torrington and one of those errands included a stop at the Donut Station. We found it in a strip mall/shopping center on busy Winsted Road next to the Biker's Edge. Just look for the big signs- you'll find it pretty easily. They have a nice variety of bagels, donuts, muffins, and egg sandwiches. One oddity we noticed was that the menu boards in the dining room had no prices listed. We ordered two bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches on a roll plus two donuts and they ran just about $12. We brought the sandwiches home to enjoy for lunch and they were very good -a super soft fresh roll with two slices of bacon and a cheesy egg patty. I ordered a blueberry cake donut which was excellent- not too sweet, not too sticky and not greasy at all. Service was friendly, unlike what you see in some of the big chain coffee and donut shops. The Donut Station also has a drive-thru and a big outdoor patio with tables and umbrellas for the warm weather. read more

If you want to know what it was like to visit Dunkin Donuts back in the day, then hop on the Donut Station express and have a doughnut. All I can say is, "nothing beats a blueberry paczki with hot chocolate in the morning!" And the sausage muffin with egg hits the spot as well. The overall point I'm making is that the food is great here. While I enjoy my local DD, this is the place to go in the area. Really friendly service and fresh egg sandwiches. Even better, the donuts are real donuts and taste so much better than DD. The Boston creme and maple frosted were huge hits. Drive thru moved quickly. My only complaint is the continued use of styrofoam and cup cover which makes it diffuser to drive coffee. Last time I was here I didn't order any food so this morning I just wanted something and I ordered a raisin bagel with cheese, egg and bacon soon as I bit into it I knew I made the right choice it was mouthwatering and delicious, I have no idea who does the donuts but omg I will follow them anywhere I am originally from NY and since moving here a couple years ago I couldn't find a good donut place and that search is absolutely over with, I am planning on sending a box of these to my family and NY for them to try also. Day no to DD these are the real deal!! Amazing donuts! If you don't believe me check out the long drive thru line any weekend morning. They make their own and you can taste the difference. The fall donut is apple cider and it's the best I've ever had including ones from orchards. My daughter loves the strawberry with sprinkles and my husband the jelly. The ice coffee is GREAT and since I have never been here before, at the pick up window I asked about their donuts since the sign says they make them fresh there. My server was really friendly, and impressively balancing the front store while handling the drive thru traffic as well. She knew a lot of people by name, could recall their usual order - it was a bit like watching a show. She was patient through it all, and I found out they have a fantastic deal on donuts after 6 pm - a dozen for four bucks! Well, our favorite donut shop was closed, so we googled this one along our route. It has a lot of great reviews. So coffee was essentially a clone of DD, which was fine. The old fashioned donut tasted old and was very dry. We passed it around the car and our kids wouldn't even eat it. Sausage egg and cheese muffin was just OK and a bit burnt. They made it so fast, I can't figure how anything was fresh. The smoothy we got was good and the only saving grace. Maybe it was just a bad day?? read more

I went here for the first time since I am not a local but a friend lives in Torrington (& he has never been.) I found out about The Donut Station through yelp because I wanted breakfast sandwiches. When I got there, I found the drive thru which I used to order two bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches on plain bagels and a 1/2 dozen donuts. Have stopped here a few times already. We grab the 6 donuts for $2 special after 6:00pm. Donuts are tasty and if you go soon after 6pm they still have a decent selection to choose from to get their special. Service is always friendly and the dining area is always clean.
