We arrived on a Friday and after checking into our hotel we traveled to Sensorio. Sensorio proved to be everything I expected. It is gorgeous, fabulous and so fantastical. One word of caution - wear layers, gloves, hat and scarf - I froze as after 70 degree day it turned to 30 degree evening. Lars from Toast Tours picked us up at our hotel the next morning. Gave us a detailed description of the itinerary before we set off. On the drive to the Hearst Castle, we learned about the history of the area, micro climates and a lot about wine tasting (all information was fascinating). Hearst castle was interesting and unique, but what made this tour fabulous was Lars. He stopped on the way to Hearst castle so we could see zebras frolicking in the wild. He stopped so we could take picturesque views of the ocean in the mist. After Hearst castle he gave us a lunch option and we chose the ocean view - best choice ever. Then Lars stopped so we could see elephant seals - herds of them. We then visited 2 boutique wineries for wine tasting and bought some wine. We finished this full day with a visit to Tin City - a very unique concept. We did some more wine tasting and had some sheep milk ice cream. I could not recommend this tour any higher. Lars and his love and knowledge of wine and Paso Robles are the key. We loved every minute!! One last comment - our hotel Oxford Suites was fabulous. We had a great buffet breakfast, a reception in the evening with up to 2 glasses of wine or bear, plus soup/salad bar (all included). The facilities were excellent. We used the gym daily, the hot tub, sauna and steam bath nightly which made for a VERY relaxing getaway. read more

My wife and I booked a private wine tour with Toast tours. It was our first visit to Paso Robles. We had a wonderful time. Toast tours provided an excellent experience and introduction to the area. We ended up booking two days with them. Kristina spent at least an hour on the phone with me planning the tour. I let her know my wine preferences and a couple of wineries I was interested in, but then looked for her knowledge and expertise in selecting wineries and an itinerary. She then prepared a plan, booked all the tastings and sent it to me for my approval. Kristina was also able to give recommendations for restaurants and other activities to do on our own, which were very helpful. While they can supply lunch on the tour, we said we wanted to bring our own, which they accommodated. Lars was our driver for both days and was a wealth of knowledge and so hospitable. Both Kristina and Lars are very well connected with the wine community in Paso. We visited five wineries each day (at my request, they can do less) and had great experiences. We really got to know and understand the Paso wine region and mostly visited small, boutique wineries. The van was very comfortable and Lars made sure we had water and snacks if we wanted. I recommend Toast tours without reservation. There are so many wineries in Paso and with Toast tours, you can customize your visit to your desires and needs. read more

I recently had the pleasure of going on a wine tasting tour with Toast Tours in Paso Robles, California and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Our driver Jennifer was not only friendly and welcoming, but she was also extremely knowledgeable about the local wineries and made our day seamless and enjoyable. Jennifer's attention to detail and her ability to keep us on time meant that we were able to fully enjoy each of our wine tastings without feeling rushed. Her knowledge of the area and the wineries was also a huge plus, as she was able to provide us with interesting information about each winery we visited. One of the things that impressed me the most about Toast Tours was Jennifer's system to manage everyone's purchases throughout the day and deliver them all back to the hotel. It was a genius idea that made our day even more enjoyable, as we didn't have to worry about carrying our purchases around with us all day. This tour was a blast! Lars was so knowledgeable about wine, and the history of the art, as well as the history of Hearst castle! He was so friendly, and we felt in really good hands. After our tour of the castle was done, he took us to Cambria, where he pointed us in the direction of the best places to eat. Then we headed back to wine country, where we were able to visit 2 wonderful wineries, one of which took us out on an ATV and an actual tour of the winery! Then when we were back on the lovely air conditioned bus, he had a beautiful assortment of cheeses for us to snack on, that totally hit the spot. Then he took us to Tin city, and pointed us in the direction of great winery tasting rooms, as well as this delicious creamery! This tour not only met my expectations, it hit a home run out of the ballpark! I also LOVE that it is a small, privately owned company with a beautiful family atmosphere. We booked a personal tour thru Toast Tours recently. Our groupd has traveled together pretty extensively, with multiple wine tours in Napa and Sonoma. This tour was easily the best we have ever had. What makes it best? 1. Kristina was incredibly organized, professional and passionate. every stop was organized 2. the tour stops were an awesome blend of old school Paso wineries, small and larger wineries. this gave us a great contrast in visits, making each more memorable by comparison to the others 3. the lunch and snacks were excellent 4. Paso Robles wine is a true delight. the scene is laid back and casual, but the wine is as good as you will find anywhere. and so many nuances in terroir. 5. We arrived in Paso Robles seeking a special experience that would give us a true taste of wine country. Our Toast Tour exceeded our high expectations. Lars (our tour guide) shared his knowledge of the Hearst Castle, the history of the area, and wine in a way that captivated our interest. In addition to the Hearst Castle, our group of eight visited two distinct wineries and squeezed in an olive oil tasting. We also lunched by the sea, enjoying local delicacies from an excellent food truck. The vineyards we visited were thoughtfully selected by Lars and his wife, with the intention of helping us experience the distinct vineyard varieties of the area. Both were fabulous. I booked a tour with Toast Tour for my wife and I 15 yr anniversary. Our driver Lori was great. very knowledgeable of the area history. We loved the atmosphere of Austin Hope winery. Our assigned host was great. Our favorite winery was willow creek wine Company. This winery was owner and operated by a husband and wife team. Natalie, owner took time out of her day to give my wife and I a small tour. Their wines were great. the flavor of each was significantly different and you could taste the difference. The atmosphere at this winery was like you were home with family. As new wine drinker, this atmosphere was not intimidating. We had an amazing experience with Toast Tours for my grandma's 80th birthday celebration! I just returned from leading a yoga retreat, and Kristina with Toast Tours was absolutely amazing. From start to finish, she curated a custom wine tasting experience tailored to our group. Our first stop was Stillwaters Winery, a small production winery with a beautiful outdoor seating area. Next, she took us to Robert Hall, a larger-scale winery offering a completely different experience. This variety added depth to our day, and both locations featured excellent wine selections. We had a fantastic wine tour hosted by Lars! Pick up at our vacation rental was right on time, the van was impeccable, and even our little dog had a comfy spot to hang out. Kristina chose 3 fabulous wineries where we enjoyed our tastings in beautiful settings. The preordered lunch at the winery was such an easy option and delicious sandwiches. Lars gave so much information on the tour about the local wine region history as well as CA wine history in general. Our day exploring the picturesque vineyards of Paso Robles with Toast Tours was nothing short of magical! First and foremost, our guide Lars was awesome! This was my first time wine tasting in Paso and knew there are a lot of good wineries. After speaking with Kristina over the phone, she was attentive, knowledgeable and took in account what my preferences were. We had a great time for my wife's birthday. We visited 3 wineries that we requested and one that Toast had picked out. We loved all the wineries and it would be difficult to say which was our favorite. Our host (Steve) was extremely personable and knowledgeable about the wines, vineyards and the surrounding area. Steve also keep us on schedule (like rounding up goats) and provided us with a little "insider" and extra information on the drives between the stops.
