After discussing each blind varietal, we blended our own and got a 350ml bottle of it to take home. This is Not just a tasting room like many others in Paso but an experience in lifelong learning. Pair the tasting with all the stories behind the winery, and it's easily one of the more interesting experiences in Paso. The staff is also incredibly friendly and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The patio is a beautiful spot to taste, and if you're there later in the day, the sunset views are hard to beat. Definitely do the free cave tour while you're there. It's one of the coolest winery tours I've been on. The caves are a massive labyrinth carved into the hillside and naturally stay around 55 degrees year round, which is where they age a lot of their wine before bottling. Even if you've been to a lot of wineries, this is something a little different. At the time I'm writing this, tastings are still complimentary, which is almost unheard of these days. If you go, do them a favor and leave with a bottle or two. That's how places like this are able to keep offering experiences like this, and honestly, you'll probably want to take some wine home anyway.

He was one of the first Americans to train in Bordeaux, France and this is a rarity to find in a winemaker here in the States. Everywhere he goes he leaves a trail of highly rated, amazing wines in his wake. He and his wife, Sonya, are such wonderfully fun and kind people, you will feel like family when you're there. I can not recommend this place and the family behind the lable enough. But be careful, once you taste these wines, you will want to buy all of them.

It's one of those places I genuinely enjoy coming back to. I especially want to recognize Anthony, who has consistently provided exceptional customer service every time I've visited. Whether it's busy or slow, whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, he treats everyone with the same level of warmth, professionalism, and hospitality. Employees like Anthony are a big part of what keeps customers coming back. Jenny and Abby have also always been friendly, welcoming, and a pleasure to interact with. Unfortunately, my experience has not been as consistent with everyone. My first experience with Sean was excellent, but on later visits I noticed a significant difference in his customer service when he wasn't directly serving me. The friendliness and attentiveness I experienced initially seemed to be missing, which left me feeling unwelcome. The reason I'm sharing this feedback is because consistency matters. Great hospitality should be extended to all guests, regardless of who is serving them. Serial Wine Room has so much going for it, and with more consistent customer service across the team, it would make the experience even better. I share this as constructive feedback because I truly enjoy supporting local businesses and want to continue recommending Serial Wine Room to others.

Our tasting guide definitely knew her stuff and I appreciated all the time she's put in with Sculpterra! I loved how they grew pistachios too and have them for purchase to enjoy with your wine. All the sculptures are so unique and interesting. You could even find details of iron work in the bathroom! Very cool. The outdoor area was beautiful and it was fun to check out the big photos and play some bocce pall. The breeze and weather and ambiance were all great, it was a perfect first stop upon arrival in Paso for the weekend!

I figured we would be seated but the tasting occured standing up at the bar, which was fine. The tastings were generous, and customizable. My friend decided to do a white tasting, and I did the standard tasting. It was pretty hot, so about halfway through the tasting, we sat down at a table in the shade and walked up for the rest of our tastings but by that time, a large group had come through so the server was busier but still managed to remember where we were in the tasting. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. When we were done with our tastings, we walked around the property to look at the sculptures and the grounds. I did buy a bottle of wine and picked it up inside where they had other items for sale from local vendors, including our server who makes soap with her goat's milk.

And being totally inside with no views of anything was kind of a drag. But still 5 Stars due to the wines and the atmosphere of the inside. Deena was great and sat down and explained every wine in great detail. She even let me try the Reserve Cab which was excellent. One of the whites wasn't good at all and I had to ask for a new glass so I wouldn't taint the next sample. But you're probably not going to like them all. That's the fun part! I enjoyed learning about the Austin Hope winery and its origins. I felt like they grew in popularity quickly and threw up some barns to accommodate the crowds. For example, the bathroom wasn't well constructed as when people slammed the door shut, the walls shook. I can't imagine how the walls would shake if someone had a blowout here. Even with some of the downfalls, this was my favorite winery and I wish I could get some of the wines without joining the club. The commitment is too much and shipping is also high, so it's not worth it. The GSM was my favorite and if I ever see it somewhere, Ima get me some!

We have…read morestayed loyal to Austin Hope--even when cutting other clubs--specifically because of the service, but that era has clearly ended. We are the type of members who always take great care of the staff and rarely leave without purchasing extra bottles, yet today we were treated like an inconvenience. Despite being told in the past that spontaneous visits were no problem for members, we were turned away on a gloomy Monday with plenty of open tables. The host at the entrance was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even let us finish our sentence before cutting us off. We were told our only options were to come back in an hour, a "limited" tasting, drive all the way downtown, or just pick up our shipment and leave. We asked for the Wine Club Manager to resolve the situation, but she wasn't on-site. To be offered a "partial" tasting as a favor after nearly ten years of support was the final straw. It feels as though they now prioritize "closing" new members over honoring the people who have supported them for years. They've gone mainstream and lost the personal touch that made them special.

By the 45-minute mark, our food still hadn't come out for two paninis and a soup. What made it especially frustrating was watching parties who arrived after us get their cheese orders and drinks served before anyone had even started assembling our sandwiches. It was clear the shop was understaffed for the holiday weekend, with one person managing the counter and another in the back prepping. We ended up asking to take the sandwiches cold just to get out the door, only to have both stuffed into one small bag, sloppily wrapped. The soup, unfortunately, came out lukewarm regardless. None of this felt malicious. The shop has an unhurried, artisanal quality that's part of its appeal, but that can't fully account for the gap between the experience and a nearly hour-long wait for a simple lunch order while others moved ahead of us. Come for the cheese, come for the atmosphere. Just don't come hungry with anywhere to be.
