We just recently completed a day of wine tasting and dinner via Toast Tours in Paso Robles and would give them 6 stars. First, we were staying in a somewhat remote location on a goat farm and it had rained quite a bit the day prior to and the morning of our tour. The roads to our lodgings were quite muddy. But it did not deter Steve who came prepared with umbrellas and an optimistic attitude. The tour proceeded wonderfully with Steve always at the ready to assist my 84 year old mother-in-law in and out of the van and along the wet paths to the wineries. He told us if the history of Paso and what to expect at each winery we visited. By the end of the day, which went thru dinner, we felt like old family friends. Can I just say, BEST WINE TOUR EVER. I was truly so impressed with our guides knowledge and enthusiasm for wine and the paso region. It was just such a pleasure to spend the day with her and she was so helpful throughout the day sharing such interesting facts and stories while we drove from each winery. We had a tour with Lars yesterday with a group of 14, and it was the BEST TOUR OF OUR LIVES. Lars took care of us every step of the way. He was very professional and friendly, drove the windy roads like a champ, and even made Happy Birthday signs for our birthday girl. WHAT A TREAT!!! We came upon Toast Tours by happenstance ... what a great find. Kristina and Lars are a dynamite duo. We had the pleasure of having Kristina help us with our planning. Lars and Kristina really went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect day in wine country. Kristina worked closely with me to make sure our first trip to Paso Robles was special and unique. The tour took us to wineries that were more off the beaten path which was amazing, I discovered wineries I would of never even heard of and even found some reds I like. ( I was strictly a Chardonnay drinker only before) doing other wine tours In the last I would really recommend toast tours their attention to detail and personal touches make you feel more like your out with friends instead of just on a bus being herded around like cattle drinking all day. I wish I could leave TEN stars for Toast Tours!! Five stars are not enough to give Kristina of Toast Tours for her assistance and care this past Saturday in putting together a memorable day of wine tasting in celebration of my husband's 60th birthday. We had planned to celebrate my husband's birthday in Alaska but due to the covid-19 virus we had to cancel it. We thought we would need to shelter in place and may celebrate later in the year. About two weeks ago we started to hear of a few wineries opening up with strict safety guidelines. After receiving a few more emails from wineries announcing that they were opening too, we decided to try to book a quick getaway. I contacted Kristina to ask her about possibly taking us and two other couples around for a day of wine tasting and she got right to work on putting together an itinerary. I won't go into details, but we had very specific needs and wineries we wanted to visit. For this reason, we needed to go back and forth with emails and phone calls to get the right combination of our requests met. Kristina was absolutely wonderful and patient working through all of larger to smaller details of our last minute tour. The day of the tour went as smooth as could be. Kristina arrived on time and all of the appointments she made with the wineries were just as described and expected. We had a great experience and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We feel that Kristina has the knowledge of the wineries to book a tour that won't disappoint. We also feel that Kristina takes it upon herself to go that extra step to be personally involved with you and your group so that you don't just have a driver driving you around from winery to winery, you have a caring friend with you. My husband and I came on our "mini moon" in October awe came during the week and visited the chamber of commerce and were recommended toast tours. I checked online and there was no tours available we called and spoke to Kristina and Lars they were so great!! They opened up a tour date and informed us that more people can join. This is the first wine tour I've done and it was nothing short amazing. Kristina made sure I had all the information I needed and answered all of my questions. She was very friendly! It's also worth pointing out that we were the only two who booked the tour for that day, as it was the day after Christmas and still, Lars was more than happy to be our tour guide. From the moment we met him, we could tell this wasn't a job for him so much as a passion and it really showed! We both learned so much from him about the area, the history of the wineries, tips on how to get the most out of a tasting- he even packed a delicious cheese and cracker platter as well as waters for the drive. The first two wineries we visited were both spectacular family owned "boutique" wineries. We got tours of the properties and barrel rooms and the guides in each were just as passionate and informative as Lars about their work. We then got to choose our next winery from a list of his recommendations before hitting our last area called Tin City- a very cool community of small wineries, breweries, and restaurants. The pace of the tour was great, we didn't feel rushed at all. Lars was really personable and we were relaxed the whole time! Came to Paso Robles for a weekend trip and used toast tours to visit Hearst castle, Cambria, and three different wineries. My cousin and I were the only ones on the tour, but they didn't ask us to reschedule the date, which we really appreciated, Lars picked us up where we were staying. Toast Tours was exceptional from the beginning. Kristina responded to my initial inquiry quickly and answered every question I had regarding wineries, scheduling, lunch options and more. She worked with me to set up a tour that gave my group a great variety of tasting environments and levels of formality, from a barrel room to sun-splashed patios to a private and personally-customized space. We kept in touch during the weeks leading up to our visit and confirmed everything again a day in advance of the tour. The tour itself went flawlessly. Lars, our driver and guide, was delightful. He helped us set up our music and gave us just enough information before and between stops to make sure we knew what to expect without overwhelming us. We were never more than 5 minutes behind (and that was because of us, not him.) He made sure our purchases were safe and identified for each of us to avoid confusion at day's end. Lunch also was terrific. And at the end of the day, he came back to our lodging to return a hand-sewn facemask one of our folks had left wedged between seat cushions. Fantastic customer service--we hadn't even called! Overall, we couldn't have asked for more and the group already is talking about a return trip.
